Chapter 543: Street Traders ( 1 )

Everyone’s expressions turned grim at the Leader’s words. Even though they were unwilling, this was the fact.

In their current situation, the government was long gone and the only law was the law of the jungle. Only the strong could survive and have a right to speak.

Under the heavy, gloomy atmosphere, the group watched the Phantom Team clear the zombies for hours.

Almost four hours later, Du Beiye swung her Zweihänder horizontally and beheaded the last group of zombies. Letting out a satisfied sigh, she muttered, “After so many days, I am finally able to relax my muscles.”

“Host, I have collected all the energy cores. Should I convert them into energy?” Krayan asked.

Thinking about the team rules, Du Beiye said, “Don’t convert the energy cores. We have to give them to my sister later.”

Now that she knew that Jiao Lizhi was her sister, Du Beiye was happy to hand over the energy cores to her.

Since Gaia was in sleep mode, her sister would need lots of energy cores to reactivate her system. As her sister, it was her duty and responsibility to help her.

Krayan understood that its host was eager to reactivate Gaia. So, it had no objection and replied, “Understood.”

On top of the wall, Jin Xuyan swung his longsword several times to clean the black blood and rotten flesh on it. Afterward, he sheathed his longsword and said, “Clean up the area and collect the crystal.”

Due to the limited time, the members didn’t collect the zombies’ corpses but burned them directly. Using their combined ability, several fire tornadoes swept the area and turned the rotten corpses into ashes, leaving only the crystal cores behind.

As a hardworking member, Xiao Qi pulled Pei Yixie and Feng Yun to collect the crystal cores. At the same time, Du Beiye asked Krayan to collect the cores for her.

Half an hour later, the members gathered at the entrance of the department store. Raising his hands, Wen Mo turned the metal wall into countless metal bullets and Feng Yun stored them in his space.

When the group of people inside the building saw them enter the building, their anxiety increased.

Not knowing that they had made many people anxious, the Phantom Team walked into the department store’s ground floor. Looking around, they saw that most of the stores were looted, and the things left behind were either spoiled or broken.

Seeing this, Li Qixuan clicked his tongue and said, “It seems we won’t be able to get anything good here.”

The members nodded in agreement when they heard his words. Although some supplies were intact, just cleaning the dirt and blood off them would take a lot of effort.

What’s more, no one could guarantee that the supplies were not contaminated by the zombie virus. So, no one would be willing to waste their energy, time, and effort to collect supplies with damaged packaging.

Jiao Lizhi looked at the supplies and said, “I will go and take a look.”

The members knew that she liked to collect strange items, so they didn’t have any objections.

After a long battle, everyone was hungry. So after they cleaned up the area, Xiao Qi took out several gas stoves and ingredients from his space. The members started preparing a simple meal for lunch while Jiao Lizhi strolled through the department store.

She entered a nearby store selling waffles and cakes. Since her space had the function of turning zombie viruses into energy, she collected all the ingredients stored in the kitchen and pantry.

Most of the packaging was damaged, and some even had black blood on the bags. The moment the supplies were stored in her space, the black blood turned into wisps of energy before being absorbed by the space.

Due to the increase in the population of the Lin’an City Base, the demand for utensils and furniture was also increased.

With so much furniture available here, it was impossible for Jiao Lizhi to miss them. With a wave of her hand, she collected everything into her space.

When she was done, she went to the next store and continued collecting. While the members were preparing lunch, they glanced at her as she emptied one store after another.

“I wonder how big my Sister-in-law’s space is,” Pei Yixie suddenly said as she washed the vegetables.

Squatting beside her, Feng Yun was mincing meat and replied, “To protect your fragile heart, it’s better not to ask.”

Hearing this, Pei Yixie looked at him and asked, “Brother Feng, what do you mean by that?”

“The literal meaning,” Feng Yun said nonchalantly.

Although she felt that Feng Yun was teasing her, Pei Yixie knew that for him to say such words, her Sister-in-law’s space must be huge.

It’s just that, as a teenager, she was curious. So, she leaned closer to Du Beiye and nudged her arm. “Sister Du, can you guess how big my Sister-in-law’s space is?”

Du Beiye was Jiao Lizhi’s twin sister. Both of them had grown up together and knew about each other’s systems like the backs of their own hands. So she naturally knew the size of Gaia’s space. But even if she did, she had no intention of telling others.

Turning her head to Pei Yixie, she shook her head and replied, “I don’t know.”

Pei Yixie was not disappointed by her reply. After all, she was only making small talk to pass the time while working.

The members continued chatting while working while Jin Xuyan went to follow his fiancée after finishing his phone call with Xun Che.

When Jiao Lizhi had just finished emptying another store, she saw her fiancé walk over and asked, “Brother Yan, what’s wrong?”

Jin Xuyan reached out to pat the dust off her shoulder and asked, “Are you done?”

“Not yet. I plan to check all the stores first,” she shook her head.

Hearing this, Jin Xuyan raised his eyebrows and asked, “Ah Zhi, do you plan to sell these things in our store?”

Instead of answering his question, Jiao Lizhi said, “Brother Yan, didn’t you say that you wanted to visit other areas to check the situation?”
