Chapter 449: Space Distortion ( 7 )

At this moment, Pei Yixie realized that while the Phantom Team members accepted her, Feng Yun did not fully trust her. Reaching this conclusion, she no longer dared to pry into his mind anymore.

Five minutes later, Jiao Lizhi arrived at the buildings where the ability-users were trapped. As she stepped on the ice shield, she leaped onto the rooftop.

The moment she landed on the ground, several thin vines covered in barbs rushed toward her at a fast speed.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Jiao Lizhi jumped into the air and dodged the attack. While she was in midair, she observed the situation. At first, she thought that the ability-users were trapped because of the zombies below the building. Unexpectedly, they were wrapped in a cocoon made of vines.

Waving her hands, she created four water blades and used them to cut the vines where the cocoons were hanging.

Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!

But before her water blades reached the vines, a thick vine rushed from behind the cocoon and blocked the attack. The water blades stuck on the thick vine, leaving only a small scratch on the surface.

Landing on the ground, Jiao Lizhi frowned as she waved her hands and pulled the water blades back. With a flick of her hand, the water blades combined and turned into a shuriken and spun at a fast speed.

The moment she threw the water shuriken at the thick vine, several thinner vines rushed toward her from the side. This time, she didn’t dodge and pulled her dagger. In less than two seconds, the dagger was covered in ice and turned into an ice scythe.

Crash! Crash! Crash!

She swung her ice scythe in a full circle and cut the vines attacking her. At the same time, the water shuriken flew past the thick vine and aimed at the cocoon.

Crack!

The moment the cocoon’s connection was cut off from the thick vine above it, green sticky liquid burst out from the vine as the cocoon fell to the ground with a loud thud.

Seeing this, Jiao Lizhi dashed toward the thick vine. With a spin, she swung her scythe and cut the vine, freeing the rest of the cocoons.

The moment the cocoons fell to the ground, she waved her hand and collected them into her space. As soon as the cocoons disappeared, a high-pitched shriek echoed in the area.

“Kiiii!!”

Feeling dizzy from the sound, Jiao Lizhi gritted her teeth and muttered, “Sound attack?”

Crack! Duagh!

Before she was able to regain her focus, the thick vine rushed toward her and hit her back, sending her flying. As she collided with the metal bars planted at the edge of the rooftop, she coughed up a mouthful of blood.

“Cough! Cough! Cough!”

Crack! Boom!

Noticing the vine was aiming at her again, she rolled to the side, barely dodging the attack. The wall crumbled from the attack, and a huge hole appeared on the rooftop while debris and dust fell to the ground.

Looking around, Jiao Lizhi spotted a small pot plant hiding in the dark corner. The moment she saw the pot plant, the corner of her lips lifted.

When the vine attacked her again, she lowered her body and rolled to the side. Ignoring the vines attacking her, she rushed toward the dark corner.

As if noticing her intention, the vines went crazy and sped up their attacks.

Crack! Crack! Boom! Crack!

Jiao Lizhi dodged the attack, but the debris and stone still left scratches and small wounds on her body and cheeks. A few seconds later, she finally reached the dark corner and raised her hand.

“Collect!”

In a blink of an eye, the pot plant disappeared from the rooftop and reappeared inside her space. At the same time, the thick vine and countless barbed small vines suddenly stopped moving and fell to the ground with a loud crash.

The next moment, Jiao Lizhi entered her space and saw a mutant plant slapping the pot.

Slap! Slap! Slap!

The sound of the slaps was crisp and loud. Standing in the distance, she was stunned by the scene. Not long after, a small sprout drilled out of the soil and swayed slowly in the pot.

When she thought about the vines and how fierce the attack was, it was hard for her to connect that with the small mutant plant in the pot.

With her space’s energy pressuring the mutant plant, it was no longer able to move or attack freely as before. Since it no longer posed a danger, Jiao Lizhi just threw it at the grassland area, together with the small mutant plant.

Afterward, she checked on the cocoons. Using her ice scythe, she cut open the cocoons and freed the people inside. According to Qin Luzi, there were a total of sixteen people, while the total number of cocoons was twenty-four.

After she opened the cocoons, she checked the people trapped inside. And as Qin Luzi said, only sixteen people were still alive, barely breathing. When she looked at them, she found them familiar.

Five minutes later, she finally realized that these people were the members of the Eagle Team. It was just that they looked as thin as skeletons and very pale compared to before. That’s why she hardly recognized them.

Fearing that they would breathe their last suddenly, she quickly fed them with her pond water and transferred her energy to keep their organs from failing.

When she was done, she left her space and reappeared outside. Since she couldn’t bring them back without using her space, she took out her walkie-talkie and contacted her fiancé.

“Brother Yan, can you send someone, Brother Gao, over?” she asked.

“Ah Zhi, how is the situation there?” Jin Xuyan asked her back.

“I have taken care of the mutant plant, and it’s safe here. But their conditions are critical,” Jiao Lizhi replied. After a moment of pause, she added, “It’s the Eagle Team.”

The moment she said this, Jin Xuyan was taken aback.
