Chapter 1156: Is This Normal For Forest Trasifs?

I stared at the Trasif, wondering if they made a mistake on the word she used.

Maybe she was just saying that line metaphorically instead of its literal meaning?

The Trasif nodded at Odeta, “Anyway, here’s the five Creas as promised. I must say though, as a male I find the idea of a strong female like yourself very attractive. Are you single by any chance?”

Wait, wait, wait… Putting aside the fact that this Trasif tried to hit on Odeta… This Trasif is actually a guy?!

But… The plush lips! The long hair! The smooth and cute face! The slender hips! Even the long legs and round bottom!! Sure, the chest is flat but flat is justice so that doesn’t mean anything! You’re really telling me this is a dude and not a gal?!

Damn… Just what kind of genes did this guy get to look like that despite being a guy?

Odeta laughed, “Wahahaha! Sorry but I belong to Sister Aster! And no matter what you do, you wouldn’t be able to replace her!”

The Trasif tilted her… I mean, his head at Odeta, “Who is this Sister Aster?”

Odeta turned to give me a proud wave, “Sister Aster!!”

Well… What can I do but wave back, right?

But the fact that everyone around me was now staring at me made me feel a little conscious of myself.

The Trasif came over to me, “So you are her lover, perhaps?”

I nodded, “Something like that. Are you… A male?”

He gave me an odd look before his lips curled up into a smile, “Is this your first time seeing a Trasif?”

Seriously, all I can see is a woman with features like this… How is he able to look this feminine?! I’ve seen girls who are less feminine than this! No offense to them of course.

I shook my head, “No. I’ve seen other Trasifs before but…”

“Ah. Let me ask again then. Is this your first time in the Forest Territory?”

Forest Territory? I guess it’s a name given to the entire forest that the Elhiria Republic and the Nekinumi Kingdom both share.

I nodded, “That is correct.”

“Mmm… That would explain it. If you are able to, do visit the Trasif side of the forest.”

“I do plan to.”

“Then that will be perfect. To answer your question, yes I am a male. And I was under the impression that Amraps would only submit to someone stronger than they are. Are you perhaps also strong?”

I had a feeling I knew where this was going…

“If you’re asking in a physical contest… She is stronger than I am.”

“Ah, but if it’s in an actual fight?”

“Then… Perhaps I’m able to beat her I guess?”

The Trasif’s smile got wider, “In that case, would you like to have a match?”

I gave him a look, “You’re asking me to participate in your challenge aren’t you… Ummm?”

“Ah, my apologies. It seems like I have gotten a little ahead of myself. Please allow me to start over.”

He then took a step back and… Curtsied.

He actually curtsied. Not a bow, not a nod of the head, not a salute, but an actual feminine curtsy.

“I am Janne Moonlight, a Mercenary that is currently accompanying my party heading towards a Dungeon nearby. I was hoping to brush up on my skills a little so I gave that challenge to spar against some strong opponents but so far, your Amrap sister is the only one who has won against me. That’s why I’m hoping you might entertain me a little as well?”

“Am I able to refuse?” I asked.

“Of course you are, Lady Aster.”

Odeta then came up beside me and let out another laugh, “Wahahaha! Sister Aster is stronger than I am though! She’ll beat you easily!”

Err… No, no… Seeing how he was fighting with you, I don’t think I actually can…

Janne latched onto that information and turned back to me, “Is that so? Then please grant me a spar, Lady Aster. Let’s forget about the challenge entirely. Please?”

Ugh… Seriously, how are you able to give me that puppy eyed look of a maiden when you are a guy?

“Alright, alright… A simple spar it is…”

“Perfect. Then the same rules shall apply, is that alright? What weapons will you be using?”

I materialised my Light Sword in my hand, “Just this one.”

“Ah, a swordswoman I see. Very well then.”

He stepped away from me and the circle was now formed around the two of us, the onlookers giving us even more space than before.

Probably they thought that the effects of our fight would be even more than Odeta’s since she had said that I was stronger than her.

Despite the distance, I could already hear people calling out bets and it seems like there’s a rather even split between the betting odds for my fight against Janne.

Argh… I see you making bets there, Odeta! Are you really putting that much faith in me?!

Anyway, I could use both my swords but I decided against it since this wasn’t an actual fight and I didn’t really want to reveal all my cards to strangers here.

I lowered myself into my stance while Janne used the same stance as he did with Odeta, the Trasif about a metre and a half away from me.

There was no actual signal to start so we were just staring at each other for a good long minute, both of us looking for the slightest bit of opening in our opponent’s stance.

I decided to try and bait him a little so I shifted my weight to my left foot, making it seem like I was preparing to lunge.

He reacted to it and immediately tried to close the distance between us to swing his halberd towards my flank from below.

I twirled my sword and struck my blade against the axe of the halberd, stopping it in its tracks.

With his attack blocked, I tried to step into his guard to negate his advantage of his weapon’s reach but he seemed to have anticipated that as he spun his halberd to swing the butt end of the weapon at me from above.

I had to stop myself and block the blow with my blade which he then responded by spinning away to create distance between us and also slashing the axe part of his halberd towards my side.

I ducked to avoid the swing, the blade just passing over my back before I leapt forward again, intent to make sure he never gets the chance to use his weapon’s reach to his advantage.

Janne raised his halberd overhead and I expected him to swing it down in an overhead slash but that ended up being a feint as he suddenly lowered himself to ram at me with a shoulder charge.

I had to lower my sword in front of my chest to block the blow which completely stopped my momentum.

He then used the rebound from his shoulder charge to leap back before committing to his overhead slash, the axe part of the halberd coming straight down towards my shoulder.

I twisted my body to avoid it but that was also within his calculations as he immediately rotated the halberd while it was still descending to alter the weapon’s path towards me.

Since my blade was still in front of me, I managed to block the halberd from slicing through me by moving the flat of my blade in its path.

I then shoved the halberd away, the force causing him to lose control of his weapon for a mere moment but that moment was enough for me to slide towards him to slash my sword at his neck.

Obviously, I intended to stop the sword before it actually decapitated him but he moved faster than I thought and raised the handle of his halberd to deflect my strike away.

I then saw him pull his handle back and I felt a chill to my left.

Trusting my instinct, I stretched out my free hand towards the side and felt the pole of his halberd hit my palm, stopping his weapon from smashing into my chest.

I then quickly rotated my wrist to shift my blade away from his hand that was blocking it so that the blade now rested on the side of his shoulder instead.

There was a moment of silence before Janne grinned, “As expected, you really are strong, I admit defeat.”

Both of us relaxed at the same time and an almost equal amount of cheer and cries of despair reverberated through the crowd, no doubt the latter belonging to the people who had lost money from the bets.

Janne stuck out his hand to me, “Thank you for the spar, Lady Aster. Perhaps we might meet again in Elhiria. I wouldn’t mind serving as your guide if you do.”

I sheathed my blade and returned his handshake, “In that case, we’ll be in your care if that happens.”

I would say tonight has been a rather fruitful one.

Journal Entry:

Seriously… That’s an actual real life femboy… I thought they only exist in fantasies… Oh wait, I technically am in a fantasy right now. Nevermind then.
