Chapter 634: Having An Eldritch ‘AI’ Is Very Helpful

I marched through the open door, activating my weapons as I searched for more of these thugs to kill.

The shouts coming from down the corridor was enough to tell me that I wouldn’t be disappointed soon.

I aimed my guns at the bend at the front of the corridor, right as a group of thugs turned around the corner.

There was no hesitation in me as I pulled the trigger, my miniguns spinning up and filling up the corridor with a barrage of bullets.

Those thugs were instantly shot dead as their corpses fell onto the ground, though a few of them did manage to dive back behind the corner to take cover.

They think they can hide?

I activated my shoulder mounted mortar and fired an explosive shell in that direction, blowing up the corner and sending whoever that had been hiding there flying.

I continued towards that corner and heard the groans of the thugs who had somehow survived the blast, turning to see two of them laying on the ground trying to crawl away from me.

Too bad for them, I was not in a merciful mood.

I went ahead to stomp down on them, crushing their heads with each step before continuing on.

“Daddy, Daddy~” Renata’s voice came through the comms.

Oh wait, that’s just the Renata AI that had replaced the suit’s AI talking to me.

“What is it?” I asked, not taking my eyes off the corridor I was currently walking down.

“Oh, I managed to get a map off one of those dead guy’s terminals~ Should I show you where the boss of this place could be?”

Damn Renata, where have you been all my life?

“Yes please.”

The HUD on my screen shifted and a map was displayed at the corner of my vision while a line appeared digitally in front of me, obviously as a guide on where I should go to find the boss.

Trusting Renata, I followed the line she showed and climbed up a set of stairs right as a door swung open and more thugs burst through.

Either the guys I met earlier gave them a warning or they had some kind of security footage here but they were not surprised to see me and immediately started firing at me.

Unfortunately for them, they didn’t seem to have any anti-armour weapons and I sure as hell did not sell them any so I just raised my arm and mowed them down with my minigun.

A few of them managed to run back through the door before I could kill them but that wasn’t an issue as the line Renata was showing me was also going through that door anyway.

I stepped past the corpses and stopped when I realised there was one problem.

The doorway was not big enough for my Power Armour to fit through.

Hmm…

Well, it’s not that big of a problem but here goes…

I took a few steps back and braced myself before I ran straight towards the door, smashing through the wall, door and doorframe to get through to the other side.

There was a low rumble before a part of the wall also collapsed from that, smashing down on the corpses that had been on the stair landing behind me.

Whoops.

Ah well, who cares?

I was just about to check the area around me when my shield flared to life as it absorbed another shot from somewhere to my right.

I spun around and immediately fired my shotgun in that direction, blasting the thug that had fired at me in the face.

His headless corpse wobbled for a moment before collapsing onto the ground, spewing out blood from the neck.

“Daddy! Behind you!”

I spun back around just as a large guy with cybernetic limbs charged towards me with his fist poised to punch at me.

I didn’t have time to aim so I reached out and caught his punch in my palm instead.

His shoulder expanded slightly and light appeared along the length of his arm before I suddenly felt myself being pushed back.

The thug shoved me skidding back before leaping up to kick me in the chest, knocking me stumbling even further back.

He tried to charge me again but I already activated my Wave Blades and slashed at the arm he was trying to use to punch me.

There was barely any resistance as the sword passed through his arm, cutting it off just below the elbow.

The thug widened his eyes in surprise as he watched his limb fall to the ground. Guess he didn’t know that I had this in my arsenal.

Before he could retreat, I swung my other arm in an uppercut, stabbing the Wave Blade up into his head from under his chin.

He froze up before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and his body went limp.

I then pulled out my blade and kicked his body aside, doing a quick check to make sure there was no one else trying to attack me.

“Daddy~ I’m tapping into their comms channel now~ Their boss is trying to reach a secret escape route up ahead! We should hurry!”

Damn, I didn’t even know you could do that, Renata.

I started running down the corridor that Renata had marked and it appeared that everyone else had also fled, probably realising that they were not able to win this raid.

Tsk… They should just sit there and wait for me to kill them instead… Why do they need to make this more difficult?

“Renata, call the other girls,” I instructed.

Several small screens appeared at the corner of my HUD before the call connected and my girls appeared on the screens.

“Girls, I’m heading to the boss. He’s trying to run away via a secret passage apparently and I’m trying to stop him.”

Amber grinned at me while shooting a fireball in the background, “Ooohh~ Should I go and set fire to that secret passage? Oh! I can just collapse it actually~ Just let me know where it is!”

That’s… A good idea.

“Renata?”

“Sending it to her, Daddy!”

“Alright, any other problems you girls are facing?”

All of them assured me they were fine and were having the time of their life wrecking the thugs right now.

Guess they were really having fun with this. To be honest, so was I.

I instructed them not to go too overboard since it would be a problem if they end up blowing the rest of the station up and continued down the corridor until I found a group of thugs that were set up outside a certain door.

One of them seemed to be holding a shoulder mounted rocket launcher that was pointed directly at me.

“Fi–”

I fired my shotgun at the guy, the pellets tearing through his body and ripping his arms off at the shoulder before he could even pull the trigger.

Unfortunately, he did end up pulling the trigger anyway but the launcher was pointed upwards when it was activated.

The rocket propelled grenade flew diagonally up into the ceiling and exploded, sending an entire chunk of it falling down to bury a good number of thugs under the debris.

But that also meant that the corridor was now blocked off for me and I don’t think I would be able to dig through that pile of rubble…

Great… How do I get through that now…

“Can I eat that, Daddy?” Renata asked innocently.

“Eh? Wait… I don’t mind but aren’t you somewhere else right now?”

“Ehehehe~ I’m also in this Power Armour, Daddy! Look, look!”

I then saw my HUD fizzle for a moment before a tendril suddenly appeared in my vision while connected to my shoulder.

It then stretched forward to attach itself on one part of the rubble before it expanded to wrap around the rest of it in the grey semi translucent jelly.

Once everything was wrapped up, it suddenly retracted back to my Power Armour and the entire pile of rubble was sucked into my shoulder, disappearing with the tendril that had appeared there like the entire thing had just been an illusion.

The thugs that were on the other side were just as surprised as I was to see the entire thing disappear but I recovered faster and started gunning them down with my minigun before they could escape.

A thought occurred to me while I was doing that…

Couldn’t Renata just eat the entire building with the thugs still inside it? We wouldn’t even need to storm the building to kill all of these guys if she were to do that…

Wait, no. I want to do this personally so even if she suggested it, I would have shot the idea down.

Anyway, the line is going into that door that the thugs had been guarding so I guess the boss should be past the door.

Alright then, I hope that suit guy has his ass prepared because I’m ramming my shotgun up there and blowing him another new asshole!

Seems like Renata can really do whatever the AI could do and more… Maybe it’s because she ate the AI from before?
