Capítulo 673: Peak World Part 8
Reign moved toward his next destination when a distant explosion disrupted the whole forest.
The energy he had been tracking vanished, and as he got closer, he sensed something else.
‘Oh? I’m feeling a lot of energy signatures…’
He recognized one of them—the same woman who fled from him after he slaughtered her group like pigs.
‘It’ would be boring if I just showed myself… better to scout first.’
Calling on the ability of his divine beast, he erased his presence completely and slipped through the cliffs unnoticed.
Moving like a shadow, he followed the energy to a makeshift camp, where the higher gods had gathered.
Tension was heavy as they quarreled over who deserved the medallion, now revealed to weaken the restrictions of this realm.
A barrier muffled their voices, but he slipped through easily and listened in.
These so-called higher gods weren’t strong at all. Compared to Lilith, they were children—kindergarteners playing gods.
Thinking back, his old world must have been a Super Peak world, a place that housed Angels, Devils, and even Metahumans—beings far stronger than anything here.
Solmir’s voice cut through first— very arrogant and commanding.
“It should be mine. None of you can deny it. My power would be more effective in this cursed land than any of yours. It cuts through defenses entirely.”
Reign’s ears perked.
This god had to be the leader of the group he killed before. The gold lacing his body made it obvious, though the energy he carried wasn’t quite divine—it was different.
Solmir hand hovered close to the medallion, but he didn’t touch it. The others watched him like hawks circling prey.
The elven god cleared his throat.
“I deserve this. Among us, my range is the longest, and it proved effective against the guardian.”
“I agree with Thaloren. If anyone deserves it, it’s him. At least he struck the final blow” Xara chimed in.
Solmir’s jaw tightened, his eyes glowing brighter gold. He restrained himself, knowing that even with the medallion, the other three could still bring him down.
Veron stood a little apart from the others, observing things first before saying a word.
Solmir noticed and sneered.
“And what of you, Veron? Will you sit there mute forever? Or will you finally speak up and admit that none of them can wield this medallion the way I can?”
Veron’s sighed. “Your arrogance exhausts me.”
‘Why are they fighting over one medallion? I already have three.’ Reign chuckled to himself, watching them bicker like peasants clawing at a single scrap of bread.
The debate dragged on until they they agreed to be more diplomatic about it.
Thaloren spoke first “I’ll cast my vote for myself. The medallion belongs with the one who ended the guardian.”
Xara didn’t hesitate. “I side with Thaloren. He’s the safer choice.”
Veron finally broke his silence. “Thaloren.”
That sealed it. Three voices against one.
The god’s golden eyes burned with rage. His jaw flexed as if he was holding back from spitting venom.
“Fine. Give it to him. But don’t come crawling to me when you realize how useless he is with it.”
Thaloren stepped forward and claimed the medallion, its glow dimming slightly as his fingers closed around it. The elven god said nothing, though a faint trace of satisfaction flickered in his eyes.
Solmir stormed out of the camp. His heavy steps cracked twigs underfoot until the sound faded into the distance.
He walked deeper into the forest, trying to calm down. His chest rose and fell fast, anger still burning in his heart.
The image of Thaloren clutching the medallion made his teeth grind. Xara siding with him and Veron’s cold vote only deepened his frustration.
“Damn it… those three are planning something, I’m sure of it.”
The thought dug deeper, feeding his suspicion that once the restrictions of this place were gone, they would get rid of him.
“You’re right. They do want to get rid of you.” A voice spoke from behind.
He turned around—too late. Golden chains struck, coiling around him and leeching his strength.
“What’s happening!” he gritted his teeth, watching as a figure drew closer.
Reign stepped out of the shadows, his angelic form blazing into view.
Golden hair shone like a sun, and his eyes burned with a brilliance that pierced straight through anyone who was unfortunate enough to see them.
The air itself seemed to bend under the newcomer’s presence, a divinity so pure and crushing that the higher god’s own glow dimmed beside it.
He trembled, fear crawling through him. He met many powerful beings before—even the highest gods—but none carried the same majesty and purity as the figure standing before him now.
Every instinct screamed at him to kneel, to bow his head, to show respect to something greater.
But another part of him—the proud, stubborn flame that made him who he was—fought against that urge.
Solmir’s voice cracked as he forced the words out. “W…Who are you?”
Reign tilted his head slightly, as if studying prey.
“My name,” he said slowly, every word dripping with authority, “is Ra. And I am your ally.”
The forest fell into total silence. In that moment, it felt like he stood in another dimension, cut off from everything else.
Solmir was already defeated before the fight began. He lacked even the strength to flee, terrified he would be slain where he stood.
“I’ve been observing you—how they belittle you, how they plan to cast you aside once you’re no longer useful.”
The god found no words to refute.
Reign lifted his hands. . “With these, you can draw out even more of your power. Use them to show those three who truly holds dominion over this place.”
Solmir’s eyes widened. He could sense at once that the medallions were authentic.
It took them so long to get even one , yet this figure held two—and was handing them over like cheap giveaways.
“Why are you helping me?” he asked, hesitating before taking it.
A knot of suspicion twisted in his gut. Nothing this generous came without a price.
