Capítulo 657: Godlike Master Part 8

“All that investment wasn’t wasted,” Reign laughed softly to himself.

Kang’s spirit power was only at the Spirit Emperor level, but his corrupted body made that almost meaningless.

Even without using a single ring, he overpowered his opponents with raw strength, speed, and unnatural regenerative abilities.

However, Kang wasn’t invincible.

His regeneration started to slow.

The spirit masters changed their approach. They fought using formations and careful timing to strike together. Every hit mattered. Every second of delay chipped away at his strength.

Bit by bit, they pushed him back.

Just as he was closed to being defeated.

Dozens of undead nearby let out a low hiss, then collapsed into black smoke.

The smoke moved fast—sliding across the ground, then rising like a snake and forcing its way into Kang’s chest.

He gasped as his eyes lit up again. Flesh reknit. Bones snapped back into place. Energy surged through his body, stronger than before

Far above the battlefield, Reign stood with one hand raised, watching it all.

“Can’t let my student fall just yet,” he said with a faint smile.

One of the Spirit Emperor had enough.

With a roar, he shot forward, his body glowing with a blinding green light. His spirit power surged wildly, far beyond safe limits.

Everyone watching froze.

“He’s going to self-destruct…” someone whispered.

It was true. The Spirit Saint triggered his core. His spirit cracked open mid-air, turning his body into a bomb.

BOOOOM!

The explosion lit up the sky—a force strong enough to seriously injure even a Titled One.

But just as the blast reached Reign—

He raised his hand and lazily clenched his fist.

The explosion stopped.

All that energy, heat, and shock—trapped inside a glowing sphere floating above his palm. It pulsed once, then solidified into a crystal.

Reign brought it to his mouth.

crunch!

“Yummy,” he said, chewing lazily. ” Spirit candy.”

On the walls, the spirit users stared in disbelief.

One of their strongest just sacrificed himself—and it meant nothing. The explosion that should’ve shaken the earth had been turned into a snack.

“He… he ate it,” someone muttered, barely audible.

“What kind of monster is that…?” another said, voice cracking.

Just as all hope seemed lost, a deep hum rolled through the air.

Spirit cultivators from the Heavenly Wind Sect dropped into the battlefield, robes fluttering like banners.

Wind swirled around each one, carrying them down with control and grace.

Their leader touched down on the second wall with barely a sound. Her long gray hair whipped behind her, and the moment her feet hit the ground, the air stilled.

Six black spirit rings circled her body, followed by one glowing red—clear proof of her status as a peak-level Spirit Saint.

She raised her hand.

A cyclone of wind and spirit energy swept across the battlefield, cutting through the undead ranks like a blade. Skeletons shattered. Zombies were flung into the air like dolls.

Kang San turned toward her and absorbed more undead to temporarily break through the Spirit Saint limit.

In response, she launched forward, wind swirling around her and forming wings on her back.

He met her strike head-on.

BOOOM!

Their energies exploded outward, knocking back everything nearby—undead, debris, even the living.

Reign watched from above, amused.

“Now that looks fun,” He tapped the side of his summon beast, and the giant elephant stepped forward again, its massive legs shaking the ground.

Kang San’s blade clashed again with the elder from Heavenly Wind Sect.

The air around them cracked with power—gusts screamed, the ground below cratered.

She moved fast, faster than Kang. Years of experience gave her precision, balance, and advantage.

But Kang San didn’t need finesse.

He let the wind slice into him, just to close the distance—like an undying immortal refusing to fall.

Each strike of his fist came with a shockwave. His eyes glowed red.

Afterimages trailed behind every movement. The ground below their duel had already collapsed, stone turned to dust, tiles broken apart.

The elder shouted a command, and a wall of wind crashed down on him like a waterfall.

Kang San dug his feet into the rubble.

He raised one hand, absorbing the attack like it was rain.

Then, without warning, he vanished.

Reappeared behind her.

A black dagger slashed upward.

She twisted her body—but not fast enough. His strike sank into her ribs.

Before he could finish her, another burst of energy cut across the battlefield.

A wall of flame erupted from the south.

Dozens of Spirit Masters in red robes charged in—Blazing Flame Sect arrived.

Their leader wore a black cloak over crimson armor. A thick greatsword burned in his hand like a torch. He roared as he leapt straight at Kang San.

For the first time since the battle started, Kang San stepped back.

The flaming sword collided with his own weapon, and both forces erupted into a tower of light and fire.

Screams echoed from every corner of the city.

Meanwhile, the second wall continued to fall.

The defenders gave everything they had—summoned beasts, formations, even self-destructing talismans.

Some Spirit Masters burned their own life force to push the undead back.

One man, barely older than twenty, lit up like a star as he charged into a horde, taking down fifty enemies with him.

But even heroism had limits.

The undead didn’t retreat. They didn’t scream or panic or hesitate.

They simply reappeared again.

And each time they killed, more rose behind them.

Atop the wall, a captain left arm hung uselessly, blood soaking his chest. He leaned on his blade, surrounded by smoke and ash.

One last cannon fired—and then went silent. Out of energy. No reloads left.

The sky had grown dark—not from nightfall, but from smoke and the sheer density of spiritual energy in the air.

“ARGGG” Kang San let out a loud roar as the flaming sword slammed into his blade.

Sparks flew everywhere. His dark weapon hissed, but the fire Saint’s heavy swings pushed him back.

Then, a burst of wind sliced in from the side.

The elder from the Heavenly Wind Sect returned. Her blade came low and fast.

Sitting like a king, Reign watched calmly. He raised his hand, like a puppet master pulling strings.

Suddenly, the undead stopped moving. Their bodies turned into black smoke. That smoke flowed across the ground—heading toward Kang San.

The dark mist slid into him, crawling through his skin and open wounds.

“You think I’ll just stand here and let you bully my dear disciple?”
