Villain Ch 2038. His Home
The rest of the wedding went on like a dream that somehow kept stretching into something more surreal by the minute. It wasn’t chaotic, no. Everything was smooth, elegant, tightly run by professionals who had obviously handled the weddings of nobility and celebrities before. But it didn’t stop it from being exhausting.
There were speeches. So many speeches. Some heartfelt. Some overlong.
Bella’s father tried to make a toast but got emotional halfway through and had to pass the mic to someone else.
Alice made a surprise presentation, a freaking presentation, complete with slides, and somehow included memes in it. High-res. Coordinated. Terrifyingly efficient.
Then the dances. The first dance started with Allen and Shea, as planned. Soft lighting, string quartet, camera drones slowly circling like trained birds. Her hand in his, her body close, and her grin too smug for a bride.
“You’re stiff,” she whispered against his shoulder.
“I’m trying not to step on your dress.”
“You’re not,” she said. “You’re just scared of touching me in front of everyone.”
That was how the dances went.
Each girl had her turn. One by one.
Nine dances, nine personalities, nine very different energies.
Zoe moved like a storm in slow motion.
Larissa practically dragged him, her movements more like a challenge than a rhythm. It was more like a Zumba dance than a wedding dance.
Mila held him like he was a piece of delicate glass she didn’t want to drop.
Jane kept perfect posture and said nothing, just let their eyes do all the talking.
Vivian danced like she was marking him publicly, graceful, but possessive.
Bella whispered things in his ear that made him sweat under his collar.
Alice giggled the whole time.
Azura almost made him trip because she wouldn’t stop smirking at the way everyone stared.
And he danced with all of them. Stepped with them. Laughed a little. Got a little teary at one point. Ate very little. Smiled too much. His cheeks hurt. His shoulders ached. But still, somehow, he felt okay.
It wasn’t until late into the evening, long after the final sparkler had been lit, after the cake had been cut, that Allen sat down alone with a glass of water and realized he was vibrating. Not from anxiety. Just fatigue.
He didn’t even notice Azura standing over him until she dropped a napkin on his head.
“Don’t pass out,” she said.
“I’m not.”
“You’re vibrating.”
“Just a little.”
“You danced with nine women in a row, gave speeches, made small talk with ambassadors,” she said dryly. “Honestly, you’re doing better than I expected.”
Allen snorted. “You say that like you didn’t plan half of this.”
“Oh, I did,” she said. “Still didn’t expect you to survive.”
The night ended slowly. People trickled out in waves, dressed in designer exhaustion. There were hugs. More photos. People still whisper about the whole “nine brides” thing like it hadn’t been in the invitation.
The last car pulled out of the hilltop estate just past midnight.
Allen stood near the garden archway, bow tie undone, shirt collar open, hair slightly mussed from too many hand touches. He felt like his soul had been gift wrapped and then unwrapped and then set out on display for auction.
The girls came to him one by one.
“You did good,” Jane said, adjusting his tie again before letting it drop.
“You made me cry. And I hate crying,” said Vivian, kissing his cheek before stepping back into the shadows like the ghost of an empress.
“You owe me foot rubs,” Larissa announced with a raised brow.
Mila just took his hand and squeezed it.
Bella didn’t say anything. Just looked at him like she already knew what he was thinking.
Zoe gave him a nod. Silent. Proud.
Shea handed him a glass of water and told him to hydrate or die.
Alice ran up, kissed his nose, and whispered, “Let’s go home before I turn into a pumpkin.”
Azura, of course, was already on her phone. Probably summoning the car.
But home.
Yeah.
That word hit different now.
Because Allen didn’t go back to the Goldborne Mansion.
He went to the place he bought.
A real home.
His.
A mansion nestled just outside the city, behind tall hedges and private gates. Two floors. White stone. Soft lighting that made the windows glow like warmth lived inside. More than ten bedrooms. Garden. Indoor pool. Library with shelves he hadn’t filled yet. Every room designed not just for luxury, but for love.
For laughter.
For comfort.
For them.
He didn’t want a palace. He wanted something soft. Something permanent.
By the time they all arrived, the girls were quiet. Tired, but glowing. Dresses flowing like moonlight, hair pinned, heels clicking against marble floors as they entered the foyer one by one. The place smelled faintly of lilies and cedar wood polish. Lights on. Air cool. Staff already gone for the night.
Shoes came off. Hair was let down. Corsets were unhooked. Lipstick wiped. Champagne glasses filled again, lazily, more for comfort than celebration.
Someone lit the fireplace.
Allen stood at the threshold, just watching them. His wives.
His girls.
His world.
He didn’t say anything. Just watched.
“You’re doing that staring thing again,” Shea mumbled as she passed, barefoot now, hair messy and beautiful.
“Am I?”
“You always do it when you’re thinking too much.”
He chuckled softly. “I think I’m allowed tonight.”
“No,” Zoe said as she sank into the couch. “You’re allowed to not think tonight.”
“Seriously,” Jane said, eyes closed.
Alice climbed onto the back of the couch and draped herself over his shoulders like a lazy scarf. “We’re home,” she whispered. “You can rest now.”
And yeah.
She was right.
They were home.
His home.
And for the first time since he could remember, Allen didn’t feel like he was running from something. He didn’t feel like he was waiting for the next betrayal. Or trying to earn his place. Or wondering what he did wrong.
He was tired.
They all were.
But he was loved.
And maybe that was the only thing that mattered now.
