Capítulo 2026: Multiple Wives, One Overworked Husband
Villain Ch 2026. Multiple Wives, One Overworked Husband
Sweet, sharp, and oddly satisfying, like something that looked soft and innocent but left a sting if you weren’t paying attention. He chewed slowly, trying to decide whether it was the flavor or just Vivian’s dramatic naming scheme messing with his head.
Shea leaned over from across the table, chin propped on her palm, hair bouncing slightly as she tilted her head.
“So…” she started, her voice playful but edged with something a little more serious. “Did you already make the guest list?”
The table quieted slightly. Not all the way, not yet, but enough to shift the energy.
Allen glanced around. Their sample papers were still spread out. The ten-tier cake plan now looked like a war map. Someone had doodled mini versions of themselves next to each tier. Azura’s had a flower crown. Vivian’s had glitter eyes. Jane’s held a dagger. Pretty sure that was either Bella’s or Alice’s work.
He licked a bit of frosting off his finger before answering.
“Yeah,” he said simply. “You all already gave me your lists. Kai will help me finalize the names and check seating compatibilities. Just need to clean it up and mix it into one.”
Mila perked up. “Wait… so that’s happening for real? Like, you’re not cutting anyone?”
Allen raised a brow. “It’s a private wedding. But a ten-family private wedding. So yeah, it’s going to look like a diplomatic summit. Still intimate… just large.”
Shea leaned back with a satisfied sigh. “Big intimate wedding. That’s such a rich people problem. I love it.”
Bella laughed. “Honestly though. Like, sorry, our combined families require a ballroom.”
Alice tapped her fork lightly against her plate, eyes sharp. “Also… no reporters and no media, right?”
Allen nodded once. “Nope. Not a single lens or mic that isn’t approved. I don’t want cameras shoved in anyone’s face. I’ve done enough interviews to know they don’t come with boundaries.”
Vivian let out a long hum. “That’s fair. I don’t wanna be asked dumb questions while I’m trying to eat cake and kiss my husband.”
Mila leaned into Allen’s side and teased, “Multiple wives. One overworked husband. They’d milk that headline forever.”
Jane sipped her coffee. “I’d rather stab someone with a sugar rose than deal with paparazzi.”
Zoe smirked. “It would be a good photo though.”
The table cracked into soft laughter.
Then Vivian leaned forward. Her smile didn’t fade, but her tone dipped a little deeper.
“Then the only remain question is…” she said slowly. “Are you going to invite your other family?”
Allen froze for half a second.
No one interrupted.
Vivian’s voice stayed gentle. “I mean your mom. Stepdad. And… your half-brother. Evan.”
The warmth in Allen’s chest didn’t disappear. But it shifted. Curled inward. The kind of ache that didn’t hurt exactly, just made you sit still a little longer than usual.
His fork rested against the plate. He didn’t pick it up again.
He sat quietly for a beat, letting the girls wait.
Then he said, without looking up, “Only Evan.”
It wasn’t bitter. It wasn’t angry. Just flat truth.
“If Geralt can’t convince my stepdad to let him go, then… Evan probably won’t be able to come either.”
The words tasted worse than the frosting now.
Jane frowned. “He’s still holding that kind of control over him?”
Allen exhaled. “He’s an adult now. But he still under their roof. My stepdad made it pretty clear I’m not welcome. He’s been saying that since I was eleven.”
Larissa’s eyes narrowed. “Your mom could override it. I mean she can try. It’s once in a life time celebration.”
“No,” Allen said. “She won’t.”
Shea’s expression softened. “She really doesn’t want to come?”
“She never said it out loud,” Allen replied. “But she always looked at me like I was someone else’s mistake she couldn’t return.”
Azura looked down, fingers curled in her lap. “But Evan… he loves you, right?”
Allen’s smile came back, but this time, it was smaller. Tired. Gentle.
“Yeah,” he said. “That kid always did. Even when I got pushed out. Even when I stopped showing up. He still texted. Called. Wrote. Making sure I’m okay. He got caught sending me messages for Christmas once. Grounded for a month.”
Bella scowled. “Your stepdad’s a walking trash can.”
“More like a locked vault of ego,” Zoe muttered.
Alice crossed her arms. “So we’re not inviting them, right? Just Evan. If we can get him.”
Allen nodded. “I gave the invitation to Kai already,” he said. “If we can’t get him… then we’ll send him a care package. Custom cake box. Full footage. His own chair reserved.”
“Even if it stays empty?” Azura asked softly.
Allen looked at her. “Especially if it stays empty.”
For a moment, silence returned, but this time, it came with warmth.
Then Shea moved first, sliding into his lap like it was the most natural thing in the world, wrapping her arms around his neck and resting her head on his shoulder.
“It’s fine, Allen,” she murmured. “You’re getting a new family after this.”
Larissa nodded, stroking his hair from behind. “One that chooses you.”
Alice smirked and leaned across the table. “A big one.”
Bella grinned. “A huge one.”
Vivian kissed his cheek. “A loud one.”
Zoe took his hand and laced their fingers together. “But a loyal one.”
Mila nudged his shoulder and said, “You might need a spreadsheet to manage us, but hey… we’ll keep you warm.”
Jane raised her coffee in mock toast. “You’re marrying a whole battalion. I think you’ll be okay.”
Azura reached forward and touched his other hand gently. “You’re not alone anymore.”
That quiet settled again. Not cold. Just honest. Full.
The girls didn’t push.
Because they knew.
They knew Allen wasn’t just building a life. He was healing. Rewriting the part of his heart that had been bruised too long.
And they were going to stay with him. Every day forward.
So after a few breaths, the conversation shifted again.
Vivian reached over and flicked his temple. “You’re lucky we’re all crazy enough to marry you.”
He caught her hand and kissed her knuckles. “I’m luckier than I deserve.”
