Villain Ch 2023. The Future Holds Your Game
A year had passed.
And somehow, Allen still didn’t like seeing his face everywhere.
It didn’t matter how sharp the lighting was, how expensive the lens, how much editing magic had been poured into every pixel, he still did a double take when he passed a billboard and saw his own eyes looking back at him, cold and sharp, mouth curved in that half-smile that somehow became his signature. Not friendly. Not smug. Just there. Unshakable.
He crossed the street and felt it again, his own face three stories tall on the side of a glass building, dressed in a tailored black coat with gold trim, wrist raised just enough to show off the new limited-edition luxury watch. The tagline underneath was simple.
“Power Wears Time.”
Yeah, subtle.
Across the avenue, another ad. Different campaign. Same guy. This time it was the new Goldborne Arcus-9 phone, sleek, chrome-silver in his hand, the background glowing with dark city lights and hex-coded UI.
“The Future Holds Your Game.”
He didn’t even remember posing for that one. Probably happened between meetings.
The air was cold today, the kind of spring chill that snuck under his jacket and made him crave coffee. A delivery drone buzzed overhead, and Allen passed two girls whispering as they stared at the perfume ad on the subway station wall, his photo, close-up this time. Just the jawline and fingers adjusting the collar of his shirt.
“Venin Noire. Irresistible.”
A scent ad. For a cologne he didn’t even wear.
“Is that him?” one of them whispered.
“Yeah. That’s the Devil Emperor from Hell’s Gate. And Goldborne’s heir.”
Allen sighed and kept walking.
Because this was just normal now.
Furbes magazine had done a triple feature on him.
One article titled “From Villain to Visionary: The Rise of Allen Goldborne,” another about his real estate buys, and one editorial shoot where he wore more layers than any man should in ninety-degree lighting and still somehow made it onto the cover of a fashion issue.
Gaming mags? They called him “The Apex,” “PvP’s Final Boss,” “The One Who Broke the Meta.” Some of them printed black and white spreads of his villain team in matching outfits, full layouts, with titles like “The Devil’s Court: Behind the Screens of the Villainesses.”
But the truth?
He didn’t really care about any of that.
The press, the photos, the perfume money, the energy drink deal. All of it was noise. Temporary. Buzz and flare.
He had one goal.
And it wasn’t fame.
It was stability.
Because yeah… Allen Goldborne was preparing for his wedding.
Not just one. Plural. Eventually.
But it started with one.
The first, the foundation. Because Allen didn’t want to build something that wavered. He’d had enough chaos. Enough half-steps. He didn’t want girlfriends he could lose or nights that blurred into emptiness. He wanted a home. A future. Something that felt earned, not gifted.
So he worked.
Not just in-game. Not just as a pro. But outside it too.
He bought his first building less than four months after the tournament. A high-rise tech tower with a private VR dev floor. That was the base.
Then the second. A repurposed shopping center turned creative campus, filled with sound booths, stream rooms, editing bays, and a recording studio.
The third? That one was special.
He called it The Den, a hidden compound-style building for his girls. Offices. Lounges. Training space. Safe space. Luxurious as hell but practical too. The gym, the bar, the garden deck with actual trees.
He never said it out loud, but yeah… it was for them.
He barely spent on himself. Didn’t buy cars. Didn’t buy expensive suits unless Emma made him. His bank account kept growing, but every major expense? It always looped back to the women in his life.
And their dreams.
Larissa had always been into fitness. Even before Hell’s Gate, she ran routines that made influencers cry. So Allen bought a mid-tier gym franchise and handed her the reins. Renovated every location. Rebranded it as Crimson Core. Clean lighting. Elite-level gear. Matching gym wear lines. All tailored to her aesthetic.
She cried when she saw the first one open. Didn’t show it in public, but he saw her hands shake when she locked the first key into the door.
Vivian and Mila had always talked about style. Vivian was a walking Pinterest board of glam and Mila had a gift with makeup and colors that could hypnotize. So Allen funded a clothing and cosmetics brand. Full studio. Full team. From streetwear to lipstick, from matching nails to bold lashes.
He called it Desire & Design. Vivian laughed for ten straight minutes.
Jane loved literature. She used to spend nights translating a lot of works from stories to heavy books into five languages. So Allen built her a translation and indie publishing studio. It ran online. It paid freelancers. It sold books in quiet corners of the internet where niche genres found wild success.
Alice had already run game store. Allen gave her enough backing to open two more. Now it was a chain. Each branch had a sleek neon logo, a community space, rare merch shelves, and console test booths.
Bella didn’t want a business. She just wanted to be.
So Allen got her cast in three upcoming Goldborne games as voice talent. One main character. One secret boss. One mascot. She loved doing the lines. Sent him audio messages of her laughing between takes.
Shea and Zoe?
They never asked for anything. The family was already top tier in the finance world. Shea was a trust fund woman with ten passports and a kingdom’s worth of passive income.
But they invested.
They believed in Allen before anyone did.
And when he offered them equity in his expanding empire?
They didn’t even blink.
Azura?
She exploded post-tournament. Her stream skyrocketed. Her setup got sponsored by seven companies in a week. She streamed PvP replays, reaction videos, and full lore breakdowns.
She never said it directly, but every time she mentioned “the Devil,” she smiled a little too soft.
