Villain Ch 2018. The Devils VS Alliance of The Brave [Part 5]
Bella landed beside Allen and said, “You’re hogging all the fun, boss.”
Allen replied, “Then keep up.”
They moved together.
Red met them head on, roaring, shield raised, sword burning with holy light.
Allen’s smile twisted. “Cute.”
He charged.
Shield met blade. Sparks flew. Red grunted as he tried to parry.
Allen stepped in. Close. Uncomfortably close. One hand gripped Red’s shield.
“Wanna see a magic trick?”
And then….
[Barrier.]
A pulse of energy blasted out point-blank, forcing Red back.
“Get behind me!” Red shouted.
Gil reappeared behind Allen. “Now!”
He slashed.
And Allen let him.
The daggers sank into his back…
Or so Gil thought.
Until Allen turned. No wound. No blood. Just a sneer.
“Still no scratch,” he whispered.
Gil’s eyes looked at his target. Yeah, he missed it. He stabbed Allen’s cloak. Only his cloak.
Allen grabbed his throat with one hand and lifted him.
And then Larissa appeared in a swirl of blood behind him.
She whispered, “Let me.”
And from Allen’s hand, she took Gil, slamming him into the floor with a splash of blood.
Gil screamed as his HP bled out.
Allen turned back to Red.
“You’re alone.”
Red raised his sword again. “Better men than you have said that.”
Allen lunged.
Red blocked.
Shea landed behind him, singing.
Red’s eyes flickered. “D-Don’t—”
He staggered. Just a second.
But that second was all Allen needed.
He stepped inside his guard.
Raised his blade.
And smiled.
Red raised his sword one last time.
Then Allen said, “You’ll get a better ending than the others.”
Red swallowed. Sweat dripped down his jaw inside the helmet. His arms felt like lead. His shield arm trembled, not from fear alone but from exhaustion that went bone deep. Every breath burned. The arena smelled like scorched metal, ozone, and blood that didn’t exist but felt real anyway. His HUD was screaming warnings in red. HP low. Buffs expiring. Team gone.
Still, he straightened his spine.
“Funny,” Red said, voice rough but steady. “I was thinking the same thing.”
Allen tilted his head. That smile again. Calm. Almost polite. Like they were chatting in a café instead of standing in hell.
“You fought well,” Allen said. “Better than most.”
Red barked a laugh. “That supposed to make me feel better?”
“No,” Allen replied. “It’s supposed to be honest.”
The heat around Allen pulsed. His wings flexed slightly, void veins glowing faintly through blackened membranes. His armor was pristine. No cracks. No dents. Not even soot clinging to the edges. Untouched. Like the battlefield had bent itself around him instead of daring to mark him.
Red tightened his grip on his sword. The leather creaked. His palms were slick.
“I won’t beg,” Red said. “And I won’t run.”
“I know,” Allen said. “That’s why you get this ending.”
The world seemed to slow.
Red charged.
He roared as he moved, holy energy flaring along his blade, pouring everything he had left into one final strike. No tricks. No formations. Just willpower and pride and refusal to kneel.
Allen stepped forward to meet him.
Steel met steel.
The impact rang like a bell struck inside the skull. Shockwaves rippled across the obsidian floor. Red felt his arms scream as the force traveled up through his shoulders. His feet slid back half a meter, boots carving molten grooves into stone.
Allen didn’t move.
Red swung again. And again. A flurry of desperate, precise strikes honed by thousands of hours of training. Allen parried each one casually, blade flicking, wrists barely rotating. Not rushed. Not strained.
“You’re still thinking like a leader,” Allen said mid-clash. “That’s your mistake.”
Red snarled. “Shut up.”
He feinted left, shield bashing forward, trying to open a gap.
Allen let the shield hit.
The impact jarred Red’s entire body. His teeth rattled. But Allen only took one step back, boots scraping sparks.
Then Allen vanished.
Red’s instincts screamed.
He spun.
Too slow.
Allen reappeared inside his guard, close enough that Red could feel the heatless cold radiating off him. Close enough to smell ozone and something darker, like burned incense mixed with iron.
Allen’s sword punched through Red’s chest.
Straight through.
Red gasped. His sword slipped from his fingers and clattered to the floor. His shield followed a second later. He looked down, disbelief etched across his face, staring at the blade protruding from his armor.
His HP plummeted in a single, brutal drop.
[HP: 1%]
Allen leaned in slightly, voice low, meant only for him.
“You held your line,” Allen said. “That matters.”
Red laughed weakly. Blood filled his mouth, metallic and bitter even though his brain knew it wasn’t real.
“Guess… I’ll take that,” he rasped.
Allen twisted the blade and pulled it free.
Red collapsed to one knee, then the other. His vision blurred. The arena lights smeared into streaks of color.
Allen stepped behind him.
One clean motion.
A whisper of steel through air.
Red’s head rolled across the obsidian floor, eyes still open, expression frozen somewhere between pain and stubborn pride.
[Red_King has been eliminated.]
Silence slammed down over the arena.
Then the announcer’s voice exploded through the speakers, amplified and shaking with barely contained excitement.
“THE MATCH IS OVER!! VILLAIN TEAM WINS!!”
The dome erupted.
Cheers. Screams. Gasps. People leaping out of their seats. Holo-screens flared to life replaying the kill from three angles. Slow motion. Close-up. Wide shot. Allen’s wings unfolding like a demon god descending judgment.
Phones came up everywhere. Tablets. Smart lenses recording every second.
“Oh my god did you see that?!”
“He didn’t even get hit ONCE.”
“That wasn’t a fight, that was an execution.”
“Allen’s insane holy sh—”
“I’m shaking.”
“Replay that again—”
Streams lit up instantly. Comment feeds exploded faster than moderators could blink.
