Chapter 2015: The Devils VS Alliance of The Brave [Part 2]
Villain Ch 2015. The Devils VS Alliance of The Brave [Part 2]
Elio caught Allen’s blade, barehanded, burning his HP, to parry the first strike. His sword met Allen’s.
It didn’t matter.
Allen didn’t swing like a player. He glided. No wasted motion.
Behind Allen, the battlefield was already chaos.
Vivian danced through the support lines, whip carving pink trails in the air.
Jane summoned a skeletal colossus that blocked three DPS at once.
Zoe split the ground open with Leviathan’s Rage, water rising in impossible angles.
Bella laughed as ice and fire collided in her hands, lances arcing overhead.
But Allen didn’t need backup.
He was already too much.
Another strike.
Elio blocked again.
Barely.
His sword vibrated from the force, arms numb, boots digging molten stone just to hold ground. The pressure was unreal. His HP dropped in bursts, like it was flickering just from being too close. He could hear his pulse in his ears.
“Come on,” Allen said softly, almost disappointed. “Don’t tell me this is all you brought.”
His voice wasn’t taunting. It was casual. Like he was critiquing a swordplay demo, not fighting a full-scale war inside a collapsing hell-dome.
Sachi’s voice crackled through the party comms, “I’m here. I got you, Elio.”
[Sanctuary]
[Divine Fortitude]
[Healing Light]
White light wrapped around Elio’s chest like breath returning to a drowning man. His HP ticked back up, barriers restored. He exhaled hard.
“Thanks,” he muttered. “We stick to the plan.”
Allen moved again.
Elio and Sachi had coordinated their roles with razor precision, him forward, her locked close behind. She didn’t retreat. Didn’t hesitate. Her staff hummed like a shield generator, constantly channeling one healing spell while prepping the next. No wasted movement.
This wasn’t offense. It was survival.
While the rest of the team fought Allen’s demonesses, Alex and Jacob leading the midline with Gil darting around in shadow, Mastercraft holding ground with Red and Eren, and the DPS rogues Kain and Lance trying to flank. Elio was the only one facing Allen directly.
And it was already a losing fight.
Allen didn’t just swing a weapon. He played. Every motion was calculated. Fluid. A deliberate composition of violence and deception.
He vanished.
[Void Mirage.]
Three of him appeared at once, all gliding toward Sachi like sharks.
“Sachi—!”
“I see it!” she cried, casting Barrier.
It reflected one of the clones. It exploded, sending her flying back into a crater. But not dead. Not yet.
Elio turned to rush toward her.
That was his mistake.
Because the real Allen appeared not where Sachi was…
But exactly behind Elio.
[Telekinesis Blast.]
It hit his spine like thunder. Elio crashed forward, armor scraping across obsidian. He grunted, instinctively rolling to his feet and blocking again just in time for a sword to slam down toward his neck.
-Clang!
Sparks flew. Pain burned through his shoulder.
[Critical Hit. You have taken 34% HP damage.]
Sachi screamed.
Elio staggered back.
“Hold still!” Sachi’s voice cracked. She sprinted back toward him, healing spells spinning out of her staff like ribbons. “You’re not dying here. Not on me.”
[Regeneration.]
[Heal Over Time.]
He gritted his teeth. “I almost walked into that.”
“No—” she hissed. “You did walk into that.”
Allen was smiling now. Watching him. Studying. His blade rested loosely in one hand like it didn’t weigh anything at all.
He started toward Sachi again.
Elio stepped between them, shield raised. “You’re targeting my healer.”
Allen tilted his head, amused. “Am I?”
Elio didn’t answer. He couldn’t. He lunged instead.
[Shield Bash.]
It connected… barely. Allen slid back a few inches. His health bar? Didn’t even flicker. Still full. Not a scratch.
He retaliated instantly.
[Stone Curse.]
Sachi locked in place. Her body glowed gold, paralyzed mid-cast. Her spell fizzled.
“Sachi!”
Elio moved on instinct, diving between her and Allen, expecting another hit…
And it came.
But not toward Sachi.
Allen faked the motion to her, then turned mid-swing and slashed straight into Elio’s exposed side.
[Critical Hit. You have taken 42% HP damage.]
Elio coughed blood.
The ground cracked under his feet.
He blinked in disbelief.
Allen’s blade rested just shy of his neck now. That fast.
Then he laughed. Yeah… it was that wicked, evil, twisted laughed. The one that always made everyone shudder.
“You still think I’m aiming at her?” Allen asked, voice low.
No. Elio felt the truth crack through him like lightning.
Allen wasn’t aiming at Sachi.
He was aiming at him.
Every movement, every feint, every near strike toward his healer hadn’t been an attempt to kill her. Allen never overextended, never followed through, never committed to a full hit. He didn’t want her dead. He wanted Elio’s instincts to take over. To force him into the role of protector. To make him swing defensively instead of offensively.
A trap.
A perfectly crafted trap.
Sachi’s barrier pulsed beside him, breaking the last curse on her and flooding his body with healing warmth, but all Elio could focus on was the realization burning through his mind.
Allen was never after his healer.
He was after the paladin’s reaction.
He had manipulated the most fundamental part of Elio’s playstyle. Used compassion as a leash. Lured out each shield. Each parry. Each defensive stance. Drew him away from aggression. Pulled him step by step into a predictable rhythm “protect, protect, protect” until Elio stopped attacking altogether.
Allen had been teaching him.
Studying him.
Rewriting the entire flow of the fight around him without landing a single irrelevant strike.
Not a mistake.
Not an accident.
A deliberate dismantling of who Elio was as a player.
And now that Elio finally saw it, the truth throbbed hot and humiliating in his chest.
He wasn’t fighting a boss.
He was being shaped by a monster who understood him better than he understood himself.
He was manipulating Elio’s instincts.
“I see it now,” Elio muttered. “You’re not trying to win. You’re teaching.”
Allen smiled. That twisted smile. “No… I’m abusing your weakness.”
Then he vanished again. Another Void Mirage.
But Elio didn’t move.
Not yet.
He waited.
Watched.
And when the clone lunged for Sachi again?
Elio didn’t flinch.
Instead, he turned.
Blade up.
And met Allen’s real form mid-strike.
