Villain Ch 2010. King VS King [Part 2]
The arena screamed.
So did the dome sky.
So did every spectator on their feet, hands in their hair, voices breaking from shouting.
And then…
It was over.
Red’s sword shattered.
His avatar cracked.
His body twisted in mid-swing and fell.
[Mac Killed Red_King.]
Elio stood, frozen. Then dropped to one knee as his body gave out. His health bar flickered.
[HP Remaining: 0.5%]
Silence.
Pure. Total.
The crowd forgot how to breathe.
[VICTORY: ORDER OF VALIANCE]
The words boomed across the dome in blinding gold. Confetti cannons exploded. Lights returned. The stage burst into digital fireworks.
Elio didn’t rise.
He just knelt there, blood-soaked and shaking, staring at the spot where Red had stood a second ago.
Chest heaving.
Eyes unfocused.
But alive.
Somehow.
Alive.
His fingers dug into the cracked arena floor, trying to feel something. Stone, earth, reality. But all he could feel was the phantom weight of the final clash still rattling through his bones.
“THE WINNER IS ORDER OF VALIANCE!” The announcer boomed.
The crowd didn’t just cheer.
They exploded.
“MAC! MAC! MAC!”
Their voices slammed into the walls of the dome. Stomping. Clapping. Screaming.
It was a sound that broke through adrenaline and exhaustion and forced you to hear it.
Elio finally lifted his head.
He smiled.
Not like the usual grins he used to flash after a tournament win. Not like the cocky smirk of a seasoned pro collecting another medal.
This one was heavier.
Slower.
Prouder.
Because this time? He earned it. Not just as a player. As a person.
He pushed himself to his feet, one slow breath at a time. The stadium lights beamed down like gods watching, warm and blinding.
And as he stood, he didn’t look at the audience. Or his team.
He looked straight to the VIP section.
To him.
Allen Goldborne.
Sitting like a phantom in the storm. Elbows on knees. Smile like a knife. Watching him not with surprise. Not even with pride.
But with expectation.
Like a final boss waiting at the top of the tower. Like a devil who knew the hero would make it this far, just so he could kill him himself.
Elio’s gaze didn’t falter. Didn’t blink.
His eyes said it all, “I proved myself. Now fight me.”
Allen’s head tilted ever so slightly, that half-smirk curving just enough to be dangerous.
Like he’d been waiting for this.
Then Elio’s avatar flickered. The match timer hit zero.
And his pod opened with a soft hiss of air.
Cool light hit his eyes. Real light.
He sat up. Pulled off the visor.
And the noise hit him all over again.
“MAC! MAC! MAC!”
He stepped out of the pod, and his team swarmed him.
Jacob was the first to grab him, nearly tackling him in excitement. “DUDE! We won! We actually won! This is my first win in an international tourney! Holy sh*t, I’m gonna cry!”
Gil spun him around, laughing and wiping his eyes. “I can’t believe it. That ending was insane. You were literally at zero point five percent! You psychopath!”
Sachi had tears running down her face. “I thought I messed up. I thought we lost. I was so sure—”
“We didn’t,” Elio said softly. “We didn’t lose. You held long enough. That was enough.”
Then the lights shifted. Spotlights aimed toward the front of the stage. The giant rotating pedestal began to rise from the center.
And the trophy emerged.
Sleek. Elegant. Stylized in gold and obsidian, with wings carved into its base and digital flames spiraling around it in constant motion.
The announcer’s voice boomed over the system mic, crackling with emotion. “LADIES AND GENTLEMEN… GIVE IT UP FOR YOUR CHAMPIONS… ORDER OF VALIANCE!”
The crowd went wild.
The stage vibrated beneath their feet as the music soared. Confetti exploded. The screen played back slow-motion shots of the final duel. Red’s fall. Elio’s critical. The zero-point-five that decided everything.
The announcer approached with a mic. “And now, let’s hear from our winners!”
One by one, they stepped up.
Jacob rubbed his neck awkwardly, eyes still shiny. “I wanna thank my mom. She passed away a month ago, and this was her favorite game. She’d yell at me to stop playing, but she’d always watch the tournaments with me. This one’s for her. And also… uh, if anyone out there’s single—” the crowd laughed “—I’m really hoping to get a girlfriend after this.”
Sachi stepped forward, voice shaking. “I… I wanna thank Elio. For believing in me when I didn’t. I almost dropped out after my last guild let me go. But he saw something, and he gave me a chance. So thank you. For giving me this moment.”
Eren’s voice was lower, gruffer. “My big brother got me into gaming. He passed his old headset to me when I was ten. I wouldn’t be here without him. He knows who he is.”
Gil wiped at his eyes, stepping up with a laugh. “I wanna thank the fans, our guild members, my family… and my fast food vendors. For real. Y’all who keep your grills running past midnight so I can grab nuggets after raid nights? You the real MVPs.” The crowd roared.
Then came Elio.
He stepped forward.
And for a moment, it felt like the world paused.
He took the mic.
“I want to thank everyone who supported us. My teammates. My family. Everyone who ever had my back, even when I doubted myself. And…”
Then he looked up.
Eyes locked on Allen.
The crowd followed his gaze.
“To Mr. Allen Goldborne…” Elio said. “Who pushed me to the edge. Who promised me a match… if I could win this one.”
The spotlight swung.
Straight to the VIP row.
Allen stood.
He didn’t flinch.
Didn’t blink.
Just picked up a nearby mic.
“I will fulfill my promise,” he said smoothly.
He placed the mic down. Unbuttoned his blazer. Folded his sleeves.
Then turned.
And someone ran over with a black jacket.
An esports jacket.
He slid it on.
The back read.
AL.
Just two letters. Just that.
The crowd lost their minds.
“The Goldborne young master has joined the game, everyone!” the announcer shouted. “WHAT A TWIST!”
Gil’s mouth dropped open. “You’re seriously obsessed with him.”
Jacob groaned. “We just won. And you want another match? Seriously?”
Sachi? She just laughed breathlessly and wiped her tears.
