Capítulo 1988: You Lost Control Over Her

Villain Ch 1988. You Lost Control Over Her

08.02 AM

The roar of Allen’s motorcycle cut through the city’s morning haze like a blade through silk. Asphalt streaked beneath their tires in a smooth hum, sun peeking through the glass towers and bouncing off chrome. Mila clung to him from behind. Arms wrapped tightly around his waist, chin nestled between his shoulder blades, hair tousled from the wind.

They didn’t speak during the ride. They didn’t have to.

Her warmth against his back. Her heartbeat pulsing where her chest pressed into him. That was enough.

They curved off the main road and turned into the condo district near downtown. Sleek lines, glass balconies, high security, one of those places that said “independent but spoiled” in the best way. Allen’s bike slowed, then idled as they pulled into the parking bay. The engine rumbled for a beat before he killed it with a flick.

Mila slipped off the seat, landing on slightly shaky legs. She wore the dress Allen gave her last night.

She didn’t care.

She pulled off the helmet, messy hair spilling out, and turned to him with a grin that made him want to cancel his meetings for the next three weeks.

“Thanks for the ride,” she said.

Allen rested his arm on the handlebar, helmet still on. “You’re welcome.”

She leaned in, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him, soft and quick, but with the kind of content warmth that sat deep in the chest.

Then she pulled back, smiling wider. “Don’t be a stranger.”

“We literally just spent the night together.”

“And I might text again when I reach my floor.”

Allen chuckled, and Mila turned, heels clicking softly as she made her way into the building. She turned at the last second, waved once with a wink, and disappeared through the glass doors.

He stared at the door for a second longer than he needed to.

Then exhaled. “Okay. I don’t know who you are,” he said aloud, without turning his head, “but I assume you want to talk.”

There was a pause.

Then a voice, smooth and too casual.

“Good morning, Mr. Goldborne.”

He turned.

Noah stood by one of the pillars, hands in his pockets, button-up shirt half rolled at the sleeves, not a single wrinkle out of place. Alone. No entourage. No private car parked near. Just him.

Allen removed his helmet slowly, keeping his tone even. “Morning.”

Noah gave a tight smile. “I assume you just…”

Allen didn’t blink. “That’s not something you should mention here.”

A pause.

“Fair enough,” Noah said. “It’s just… obvious.”

Allen said nothing. Just watched him.

Noah shifted his weight, eyes tracking the doors where Mila had gone.

“Anyway,” he started, “our families are on better terms now. My dad’s softened. So has my mom.”

Allen didn’t move.

“They didn’t like her staying away from us,” Noah continued. “But they’re giving her more space now. Letting her make her own calls. I think that’s… progress.”

Allen raised a brow. “Is that what we’re calling it?”

“They keep bringing you up, actually,” Noah added, voice just a touch forced. “About how good the relationship between you and Mila looks. Especially in the last few weeks.”

Allen shrugged. “It’s solid.”

Noah smiled a little. “Which is good. Really. I’m glad. But…”

“But,” Allen echoed, tone flat.

Noah’s smile didn’t falter, but his eyes cooled.

“You’ve pulled her orbit out of ours,” he said. “And I think you know that.”

Allen met his gaze without blinking. “You lost control over her.”

Noah frowned. “That’s blunt.”

“And true.”

Noah took a slow breath. “You always did know how to skip the polite layers. Fine. Yes. She’s making choices without checking in. She’s not showing up to the family brunches. Not attending the events we ask her to. She’s living her life like we’re not in it.”

“Sounds healthy,” Allen said.

“She’s changing.”

Allen tilted his head. “You sure it’s her changing? Or just you seeing her for the first time without a leash?”

Noah’s jaw twitched. “I didn’t come to fight.”

“Then don’t pick one.”

Noah exhaled, tone softening. “I actually came with a proposal.”

Allen stayed quiet.

“I want to start something. A new venture,” Noah said. “Not tied directly to the family. Something… digital. A brand with reach. And you… you’ve got name power. You’re a pro player. Your following’s clean, solid. We build something together? It’ll hit.”

Allen looked away, adjusting his glove. “Still too early.”

“You’ve got time. And we’ll bring in the right people.”

“I’m still in training,” Allen said. “I’m barely managing Cyber’s dev rotation and refining the new tech testing. You think I can half-ass a startup on top of that?”

Noah lifted his hands slightly. “That’s why I’m here. I’ll handle most of it. Think about it… your name gives us credibility. You don’t even have to be in it daily.”

Allen’s voice hardened. “It’s still under your dad’s name, isn’t it?”

Noah’s jaw tensed.

Allen nodded. “Thought so.”

“We’ll separate it legally eventually,” Noah said. “Just for the launch phase—”

“No,” Allen cut in. “Because I know how this works. You want my face, but your father’s name still signs the checks. That’s not a partnership.”

“I’m offering you exposure,” Noah said. “Money. Leverage. Hell, James said he’d be down to invest if we needed extra capital.”

Allen froze.

His gaze turned sharp. “James?”

“Yeah.”

“You brought him into this?”

“He is my best friend. Also… If it helps push things forward—”

“Don’t finish that sentence,” Allen said coldly.

Noah blinked.

Allen stepped forward once, calm but final. “You don’t get to use her father as leverage to bait me. Not after what she went through.”

“It’s not like that.”

“It’s exactly like that,” Allen said. “You’re trying to tie me back to that family with gift wrap.”

Noah didn’t speak.

Allen slid his helmet back on.

“You want to build something?” he said, voice muffled now. “Do it without using Mila as a backdoor.”

Noah’s eyes narrowed. “You know she’s not some prize to win, right?”

“I know,” he said quietly. “She’s the one who chose me.”

Your gift is the motivation for my creation. Give me more motivation!
