Chapter 1903: Just Creepy

Villain Ch 1903. Just Creepy

Allen exhaled through his nose the moment the tavern door creaked open. A rush of warmth, smoke, and roasted meat filled the air—along with the ever-present buzz of player chatter, dice clinks, and that off-key lute someone always insisted on strumming in the corner.

They entered Ront City’s most popular bar—The Drunken Beholder—and found it just as chaotic as ever. Rows of wooden tables filled with laughing players, cheering guilds, and that one drunk monk trying to convince his healer girlfriend to try a dual-skill fusion with “hand techniques.”

Allen rubbed his temple. “Just… act normal.”

Which was impossible, really, when you had a harem squad of seven smoking-hot women trailing behind you—each one in disguise, but still effortlessly hotter than 90% of the female character models here.

Vivian adjusted her bustier, disguised as a sorceress robe, sure, but the neckline was still very much ‘sin incarnate’.

Larissa casually licked her fangs and sighed like this place wasn’t worthy of her existence.

Zoe popped a jelly candy in her mouth with a wet slurp and gave a low whistle. “Smells like regret and roasted pork. I love it.”

Allen headed straight for the bar.

And froze.

The bartender turned around. Big guy. Bald. With the kind of perma-smile that screamed ‘NPC ready to serve your ass day and night.’ He had a leather apron, a warm voice, and a nameplate above his head.

[Greg – Tavern Bartender]

Allen’s eyebrow twitched.

“Oh for fu—”

“Hiya, pals!” Greg grinned, wiping a mug. “What’ll it be?”

Allen cringed. Shea immediately tensed.

Vivian made a choked sound.

Larissa hissed.

Arcana blinked. “What’s wrong with you guys? Just order already.”

Allen narrowed his eyes. “Tell me we’re not trapped.”

Azura, leaning against the side of the counter, let out a very loud groan. “Oh my gods, it’s not the garlic farmer Greg. This Greg has been here since launch. He gives the beer quest. Totally normal.”

Vivian muttered, “Still gives me goosebumps.”

Allen stared at Greg like he’d lunge over the counter if the man dared to mention a missing daughter.

Greg, bless him, just waited.

“…Fine,” Allen muttered. “Ale. Dark. No foam.”

“Coming right up!” Greg chirped and slid into the back.

“If anything weird happens,” Allen muttered, “I’m logging out.”

“Same,” Zoe said.

“Same, but with a twist,” Jane added.

The rest of the girls nodded in grim, synchronized trauma.

They took a long table in the corner, backs to the wall, eyes warily scanning the tavern. Everything looked normal. Sounded normal. Players laughing, arguing over loot rolls, mages practicing spell combos in the air with finger traces.

Allen felt tension bleed out of his shoulders.

The drinks came. Ale for him and Zoe. Red wine for Larissa and Vivian. Mead for Shea. A mysterious sparkling cocktail for Alice, and a bright purple sludge Jane had ordered with way too much excitement.

Arcana sat beside Azura and raised his glass. “So… this your big post-horror-quest chill session?”

Allen grunted. “Pretty much.”

“That bad?” Azura asked, brow raised.

Alice rested her chin in her palm. “Well all looked normal. Like… okay. Just creepy. But not deadly.”

Zoe snorted. “Until it was.”

Larissa swirled her glass. “We were stuck in a loop. Real-time loop. Like, we escaped—only to find out we never did.”

Bella nodded. “Despite this being ‘only a game’… it felt real. Too real.”

“Yeah,” Jane added. “What if we log out and realize we never did? What if that whole thing is still running and we’re in an illusion pretending we’re safe?”

Vivian choked on her wine. “Stop. Jane. Seriously. You’re freaking me out.”

“You’re freaking me out,” Zoe said.

“She has a point,” Allen muttered darkly. “That garlic farmer Greg NPC was too clean. Too well-written. I checked. He doesn’t show up in the quest logs anymore.”

Arcana laughed, totally unfazed. “You guys are high-level, elite-tier weirdos. You get special bugs.”

“This wasn’t a bug,” Allen said. “It was a system-level psychological trap.”

Azura tilted her head. “You think that NPC was bugged?”

“Not really,” Allen muttered, “But the system gave birth to something… off. Something layered.”

“Yeah, but this tavern’s real,” Arcana said. “I mean, come on. If this was still part of the horror quest, would there be this many sideboob sorceresses?” He gestured to the bar.

There were, in fact, a lot of sideboob sorceresses.

Allen sipped his ale. The foam clung to the rim. Bitter, strong. Real.

He finally exhaled. “Okay. Fine. It’s real.”

“Good,” Arcana said with a grin. “Then let’s talk about something outside the horror quest.”

Allen raised an eyebrow. “Like what.”

“Oh, you know,” Arcana drawled, “your ex-girlfriend.”

Dead silence.

Shea blinked. Larissa’s wine glass paused mid-air. Vivian slowly turned her head. Zoe’s eyes narrowed like a shark smelling blood.

Allen’s voice dropped. “Oh?”

Arcana smirked. “Bro. Don’t play dumb. Everyone’s heard. About your ex and your ex teammates.”

Allen’s expression didn’t change. But the air around him did. Slight shift. Pressure drop.

Arcana took a sip of ale, oblivious. “I mean, I thought it was fake at first. Some are saying it’s confirmed. Some still say it’s fake. But like seventy, eighty percent of Hell’s Gate players know about the sex tape.”

Allen didn’t even blink. Just nodded. Repeatedly. Calm. Too calm. Then took a slow drink, eyes distant over the rim of his mug.

Arcana frowned. “Don’t just nod at me like that. You look like a damn bobblehead. Your ex got filmed. Possibly fake. Possibly not. With your ex-team. That’s not nothing.”

Allen’s expression didn’t shift. “What do you want me to say?”

“I don’t know. Something. You’re sitting there like this is just another Tuesday.”

“Because it is,” Allen said, setting his drink down with a quiet clink. “She’s my ex. They’re my ex-teammates. I have no connection to them anymore.”

Arcana arched an eyebrow. “No connection, huh? Not even curiosity?”

“No comment,” Allen said flatly. “I don’t know if it’s real or not. Doesn’t matter. As long as they don’t connect it to me, it’s not my problem.”
