Capítulo 456: Chapter 455: Back at the north base 6

With the addition of the supplies they got, at least the north base would have more time in collecting food supplies without being too hurried.

They also had farms in the north base, so as long as they still had enough supplies, they would have more time to collect and stock food from the farms that they had.

The population in the north base was still growing because a lot of people were still going to the north base by themselves or were being rescued by the people who went out to get supplies.

So, the north base would always need more and more supplies, but at least for the time being the supplies they got were currently enough for the base for a year.

As for the construction materials that they needed, they also got some, which was only ¼ of the food supplies that they had collected because they didn’t focus on getting more of them.

But the quantity was still a lot so they didn’t have any complaints at all.

They also included some equipment for farming and factory production that they got, so they were even happier after seeing them on the list.

After they finished talking about the supplies they got and since they were finally finished talking about what happened to them for the past few months, Treyton also asked them about any important events or updates in the base for the past few months.

Vance and Jason readily told them what happened to the base while they were outside.

According to them, the most notable event that happened to the base while they were gone was the surge of mutant rats that attacked the base and were even followed by zombie rats and other zombies that trailed after them.

It seemed that the mutant rats were also looking for food after the extreme cold and rain that happened, so a lot of them targeted the base, which obviously had a lot of food.

Because of their numbers, they also attracted more mutant rats and other types of zombies that followed them back to the north base.

So the base had to deal with mutant rats that were very big, and then they had to deal with the zombies that followed after them again.

Fortunately, the numbers of mutant rats weren’t that many, unlike the bird attack that happened in the base before they left.

So, the base managed to deal with them using their weapons and combat prowess.

They also dealt with the zombie rats and other zombies that followed them properly.

There were still casualties, but at least the number of casualties was very minimal because they had walls surrounding them, and the rats weren’t able to enter and cause trouble inside.

Aside from the attack of those hungry rats, the base didn’t have other prominent events, but there were indeed a lot of updates that they needed to learn.

Apparently, while they were away, a lot of base rules were further discussed and implemented.

There were also a lot of added rules for people with superpowers and also rules for the teams that had been formed.

The north base finally had more concrete rules for people with superpowers and teams unlike when they had just left.

They only said the main rules that were added and told them to read the rule booklet on their own and gave them a booklet.

Of course, aside from the rules, the benefits, compensations and other things were also listed in the booklet that they had received.

“Oh, you guys also added decision power as one of the benefits and compensation. I didn’t expect that you guys actually came to such an agreement immediately,” Treyton commented after he browsed the booklet they handed to him.

“Yes, the trend of power in chaotic times is already obvious.

Those who have superpowers and are stronger than their peers would have power in their hands sooner or later.

So, we have already decided to give up some power in exchange for supplies and other things that would benefit the base.

For example, for teams like yours who have an overwhelming completion rate, instead of giving a lot of rewards, we could exchange your contribution points for voting power in the base.”

“Indeed, and you guys are really asking a lot of it, so it would be hard for others to have it.

And it’s also written that the amassed power of people with superpowers couldn’t exceed the 60 percent power that belongs to the army and other officials.

So, even if someone really becomes too powerful, they would be limited to 40 percent.

Well, you guys have already been generous at this time to be willing to give up 40 percent of your power, so it should be enough for the time being.”

Luciel immediately understood what Treyton meant.

They were indeed generous enough to give up the 40 percent of their power to those teams with enough contribution points to the base.

However, there were also a lot of rules regarding it, and the contribution points required just for the first level were already very high.

Normal teams couldn’t even come up with such contribution points even after working hard for 5 years.

So it just meant that the threshold was very high, so the 40 percent wouldn’t be easily distributed to superpower teams.

However, for teams that were really powerful like their team, they could readily get some of those 40 percent.

If they really worked very hard, they might even be able to swallow the entire 40 percent for themselves.

Of course, the base probably wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen.

But they could probably get 30 percent of the voting power because there was currently no team in the base that was as powerful as them.

Treyton also said the words “for the time being” because the situation in the future was still unpredictable.

If there came a time where the power of the army and the other officials was severely lessened, then those people with superpowers who were holding more voting power in the base could probably get a lot of it.
