Chapter 380: Chapter 379: Using rafts

They also felt the building tremble a bit because of the impact.

Thankfully, even after waiting for a while, the building that they were in still managed to withstand the rushing water and wasn’t destroyed.

After making sure that the building was indeed still standing, most of the members sighed in relief.

“Woah, thank goodness, this building is still durable,” Nathan said with relief and then added, “What the heck is the problem up there, there’s even such a second wave of such a strong water discharge.”

“There’s no river or any particular water bodies in those places, so it’s probably the accumulation of water in different areas that has branched out and joined the path of water going here,” Yang said.

“What bad luck. They chose to flow here instead of other places. If there’s more raging water like that, then this building probably wouldn’t be able to withstand it,” Nathan said while sighing.

“Enough with the sighs,” Treyton said to Nathan and then turned to Zam and ordered, “Zam, take some with you and check the condition downstairs.”

While Zam and the others went down to carefully check the situation downstairs, Luciel and the others still kept watching the scene outside.

Even though they couldn’t see things clearly because they didn’t have enough light, they could still see that the buildings in the distance were further damaged with the sudden flow of raging water again.

When Zam and the others came back, they explained that most of the things on the first and second floors were already damaged. Some parts of the walls were thoroughly damaged.

According to them, Dan had also pulled some metals and put them on the big gaps of the wall so that the building wouldn’t have more problems.

Unfortunately, according to them, the water still kept digging the ground and was carrying the soil around bit by bit. So, they still had to pay attention to it.

There was no immediate problem anymore, so Treyton let the others continue their rest.

There were still a few hours before daytime, so Luciel and Treyton also went back to rest.

The next day, the weather was still the same. The rain was still very heavy, so the water level still continued rising.

So, they could only stay on the seventh floor while observing the situation outside. They were mostly observing the flow of water coming from the higher areas.

They didn’t see another raging water like the one they saw last night, so most of the members thought that there wouldn’t be one anymore. But around 3 pm, another raging water as strong as the one that came first yesterday appeared.

Then another came again at night.

Thankfully, when morning came, the rain finally stopped.

But of course, even though the rain finally stopped, water still kept coming from the upper areas through the temporary river that the water had created.

They stayed for two days, but the water level only decreased until it submerged half of the second floor.

It was still very high but it seemed that the water level wasn’t decreasing that fast any longer.

So, Treyton decided to get going already as the water level would probably only come down after a few weeks.

They couldn’t just stay in the building while waiting for weeks until all the water drained out and the land dried again.

So, Treyton decided that it’s better for them to continue going to their destination while the water was still high.

The water was still high enough to cover most of the debris, which would be easier for them to pass through using their rafts.

So, on the third day, after seeing that it wasn’t raining, all of them began moving out early in the morning.

The night before, the others had already carried the rafts that they were going to use to the third floor.

So, after breakfast and a brief rest, they went straight to the third floor.

Treyton had directly made a slide from the third floor to outside of the second floor out of metal, as the stair on the emergency door was already destroyed.

Before going, Treyton reminded them again to be careful and watch out for their surroundings.

This time, Luciel and Treyton weren’t staying in just one raft but had separated.

It was also the same with Zam, Wes, and the others.

Treyton and the others had properly arranged the people that should be together on the rafts so that they would properly protect each other.

So, knowing that Luciel was willing to work a bit harder in the mission this time to become stronger, he wasn’t grouped with Treyton.

He was grouped with Ashlee, Sophie, Astrid, and Owen. And their raft was tied with the group consisting of Dan, Eric, Mark, and Edna.

Treyton and the others had decided that two rafts would be tied together so that they could better protect each other while not disrupting their speed.

It would actually help them in keeping up their speed. For example, in their group, the one who could speed up their raft was Astrid, who had a water ability, and in the raft tied to them, Eric, who had a wind ability, was the one who could speed up their raft.

Since their rafts were tied together, they could take turns, or if needed, the two could boost the speed of their rafts together.

So having two rafts tied together wouldn’t be inconvenient, as they could help each other out while it would still be easy for them to dodge possible attacks or debris on their way.

As for Treyton, he was together with Theo, Nash, Yang, and Austin. And their raft was tied together with Nathan, Nolan, Nate, and Rhet’s group.

Treyton and Zam’s group would be leading the way, followed by them and the others. While Wes and Myla’s group would be at the back. As for Liam and Mia’s group, they would stay at the center.

After Treyton finished his reminder, all of them moved to their rafts and went sliding down according to their arranged positions.
