Chapter 378: Chapter 377: Flash flood 2

With the size of the whole seventh floor, it actually wouldn’t be crowded even if all of them stayed there.

But of course, even though they were already used to living as a group, it was still different to have their own rooms.

Even though they were only 500 meters away from the place where the raging current was flowing, it was still more than enough for those with quicker reaction times to reach the seventh floor immediately if something really happened, even if they stayed on the sixth floor.

“Tsk, tsk. It’s obvious that you just want to stay in a room together with Luciel,” Nathan commented from the side.

“Of course I want to. And there’s no problem for both of us to just stay on the sixth floor,” Treyton said with a grin, then added, “You can also stay on the sixth floor if you want, as long as you can make sure you can quickly come up here if something happens.”

“Tsk. I know, I’m single, and I don’t want to endanger myself, so I’ll obediently stay here,” Nathan said, clearly unable to say anything back.

In the past months, Nathan had clearly become stronger. However, he was still lacking compared to the others when it came to reaction time.

The others, of course, knew that Treyton wanted to stay with Luciel in their own room, but they didn’t say anything since Treyton had already made a reasonable arrangement, and he did indeed have the privilege to make such arrangements.

After making it clear, Treyton asked the others to move all their things to the sixth and seventh floors, so everyone got busy moving.

While the others were arranging their living spaces on the seventh floor, Treyton and the others gathered on one of the sofas and started planning what to do and where to move if they really needed to.

While they were planning, Luciel didn’t directly partake, but he still stayed beside Treyton and listened carefully to their discussions.

He even properly looked at the map they were marking while they talked about their arrangements.

Since the weather was bad and had a higher chance of accidents happening, he paid close attention to their plans so that if he was unexpectedly separated again, just like before, he could regroup with the team more easily.

He had already been separated from them once, and it wasn’t easy to find them because he didn’t recognize the route they had taken.

He could have had an easier and more relaxing time if he and the kids had managed to regroup with the others earlier.

So this time, while they traveled, he paid attention whenever Treyton and the others discussed the routes they were going to take, especially the names of the places they marked.

Even if he didn’t recognize the names of those places, there would surely be some signs along the way.

Besides, the terrain on the map was also indicated, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to navigate even if he was accidentally separated from the others again.

And because of the accident they had encountered before, Treyton and the others emphasized map reading and route memorization to all the members whenever they needed to go somewhere.

Even the kids had already started learning about maps and the names of the places they needed to go. They especially emphasized the location of the north base so the kids would know where to return to if they were ever separated because of an accident.

Luciel continued listening to Treyton and the others, and after a few minutes of discussion, they quickly finished planning what to do next.

Their next destination was still far from where they were, but the road leading there was at a lower elevation than their current area, so the flooding was expected to be more severe.

The areas nearby were mostly farmlands, and the route eastward to their next destination also passed through more farmlands than other areas.

If they went directly that way, they wouldn’t really have anywhere suitable to stop by, especially if it was still flooded.

So instead, they planned to detour northeast before heading east once the flood subsided.

According to them, the northeast areas had higher or at least equal elevation compared to their current location, so the water level there should be about the same.

But unlike the east, the northeast also had taller buildings they could use as shelter.

So, they marked a community farther northeast and planned to head there if they could no longer stay in their current building.

As for how they would travel while the flood was still ongoing, they planned to use their inflatable rafts.

They didn’t have boats, but they did have large inflatable rafts that could carry four to five people each.

The rain in the past months had always caused some flooding, so Treyton got a lot of inflatable rafts from the north base that they could use in case of emergency.

As long as the rafts were properly protected, there shouldn’t be any problem reaching their destination. They could even speed up the journey by properly utilizing the powers of those members who had water and wind abilities.

Treyton and the others had also already arranged who would be sharing each raft to make sure every group had enough protection.

Treyton also planned to modify the seventh-floor windows so everyone could move downstairs quickly if needed.

Once the members finished moving their belongings from the fifth and sixth floors, Treyton called everyone together to brief them on the plan.

Yang went over the routes again and reminded everyone to memorize the possible paths to the community they had marked, since they had prepared three alternatives in case the first one was blocked.

Yang also announced the raft groupings and emphasized that everyone should stick with their assigned group as much as possible to make it easier for all of them to move together if they really needed to leave the building.
