Chapter 372: Chapter 371: Talking to Rhet

“Hey! There’s no need to reveal such info!” Nathan said with some indignation.

Well, Nathan, who was often careless, would of course suffer at the table he was in because the people there were all observant and certainly good with numbers.

If he had been at another table, then he might not have lost that badly. Unfortunately, he had to play with him, Treyton, Yang, Wes, and Mia.

Nathan had lost, so he had to do what they ordered him to do, but they postponed it and planned to make him do some chores after Lisa’s party.

The other tables also had the same plan, so they just continued playing games and having fun until nighttime.

Fortunately, mutant animals hadn’t attacked them again, so all of them managed to have fun until the end with no interruptions.

Well, they had soundproofed the whole second floor, so even though they were making too much noise, they hadn’t attracted anything from outside.

And nothing strayed to where they were, so nothing interrupted them.

So, they enjoyed their time until it was already time to rest.

Before the end of the party, Lisa and Lottie thanked them again for preparing the birthday party.

Of course, the others said that it was nothing as they also had a lot of fun.

The next day after Lisa’s birthday party, the weather still wasn’t good as there was another strong blizzard.

So, they stayed in the building and just started doing their daily routine again.

Even though Luciel was still feeling a bit lazy because they had fun until late at night, he still began training after finishing his breakfast.

Luciel still wanted to achieve his goal as fast as he could, so even though he was feeling lazy, he still started sparring with the others.

He first sparred with Treyton, and after sparring with him for a longer time, he continued sparring with the others.

The others were very willing to continue sparring with him, as they were also able to improve themselves through it.

Even those who hadn’t been able to spar with him at the beginning, like Vivi, also started sparring with him even though they would lose in just a few minutes.

They also wanted to experience trying to block and trying to counter the attacks of people they couldn’t easily meet.

Luciel didn’t mind and sparred with them since it was just a few minutes of his time, and he simply considered it part of his rest time before sparring with those more capable than them.

Just like before, he only rested when it was time for lunch and then continued sparring with the others until dinner.

The blizzard outside continued raging for another two days, so Luciel also continued his training for two days straight.

And on the night of the second day, Yang finally asked Rhet, who had been staying with them, about what he had been doing in the past months while living alone—especially about the things the others had seen in his apartment.

“I-I was doing d-data analysis on the surroundings and m-making some things that could improve my living standard.

M-most of the things I made were only things that could be used for c-cleaning, cooking, and other simple things.

T-the only most p-practical thing I made was the robot that c-could recognize and record the things around. I-I’m mainly using it to record things more accurately.”

Hearing Rhet’s answer, Yang asked, “What have you been researching and analyzing in the past months?”

“I-I had nothing to do in the past months, so I had been recording the changes of the zombies around here.

A f-few days after the start of the apocalypse, I-I started recording the changes of the zombies in this place.

I-I had been using the video coverage from the CCTVs, but I c-couldn’t fully keep up with the daily changes of the z-zombies. So, I-I had to modify the r-robot that was part of my project.

I-I modified the pr-program so the r-robot was able to recognize the z-zombies even with some of th-their changes, as long as they were previously recorded by the r-robot.

S-so I was able to g-get more accurate d-data after I finished modifying the robot.

T-then I set up the other c-computers with me to help re-record the changes of the z-zombies, especially their s-speed.

Be-because I-I had been recording the changes of the z-zombies, I had also recorded the n-numbers of zombies that were passing by and o-other things.”

“Can you show us a part of the data you got?” Treyton asked.

“O-of course,” Rhet said and readily gave a thick paper to Treyton.

Luciel, who was beside Treyton, also looked at the paper Rhet gave, but when Treyton turned the pages, Luciel could only see a lot of numbers and only a few words showing that they were indeed part of data records.

After browsing through the paper Rhet gave, Treyton said, “I’m sure the base and the research center will be very interested in the data you’ve been recording in the past months.

Initially, we planned to part ways after going to an area farther away. But why don’t you come with us for now, and when we arrive at the north base, you can go to the research center?

I’m sure they’ll certainly welcome another person who could help with their research.

And with the data you’ll provide, you can certainly ask the base for supplies and, of course, a place to live in.

You don’t have to worry about sharing a place with other people after handing over such precious data.

And if you join the research center, you can certainly do more research or analyze more data that you want.”

Treyton immediately mentioned conditions that were certainly enticing according to Rhet’s personality.

Well, the data that Rhet had collected would certainly be useful, as it was about the gradual changes of the zombies.

The base, which was lacking records, would surely welcome the things Rhet had been recording and analyzing in the past months.

Rhet was also obviously very good at what he does, so he would be a very good addition to the north base.
