Chapter 364: Chapter 363: Meeting Rhet 3
And aside from his stuttering speech, he didn’t seem to have any noticeable problems.
From what he had observed after meeting Rhet, at least he didn’t look like a person who had crazy tendencies from staying alone for many months.
Of course, he wasn’t sure of his judgment yet as he had only spent a few minutes observing. However, as long as Rhet wasn’t a very good actor, then his judgment was still accurate.
Nathan and the others continued talking about Rhet for a bit before moving on to other topics.
They didn’t go anywhere else and just stayed in the lounge because their things were still with Theo.
They waited for about 20 minutes before Wes and the others came back with Rhet.
After they returned, the others finally started cleaning themselves up and setting up the third and fourth floors again.
Yang also arranged a room for Rhet on the third floor, and as soon as Rhet heard where he was assigned, he immediately went there with his things.
Of course, Wes, who had been holding Theo, also followed so that Theo could give Rhet the things he needed.
Treyton looked at Nate and Samuel and asked, “So, what did you guys see?”
“Rhet really didn’t clean up the first floor of his apartment building, just as he said.
There were still zombies on the first floor, and it remained very chaotic.
The second and third floors also weren’t cleaned up, but all the zombies there had already been killed.
The only place that was cleaned up a bit was the fourth floor where he was staying.
He also put a lot of barricades between the third and fourth floors, and there were also traps arranged on the stairs going up.
There’s nothing much to see outside, but his apartment is actually packed with a lot of things that weren’t supplies,” Nate said, then paused.
“Oh? What’s in his apartment?” Nathan asked.
“There are a lot of small inventions, computer parts, and machinery parts everywhere.
He also had a lot of computers and papers filled with numerical data.
Even though I’m good with computers, I could only understand a few of the terms I saw on his computers.
It was the same with all the data recorded on the papers in his apartment.
Rhet didn’t have a lot of things that needed to be packed, but we spent more time because he had to save all the data that he hadn’t saved yet, and of course, carefully gather all the papers,” Samuel said.
“Oh? What kind of inventions did you see?” Luciel asked before Treyton could, becoming more interested in Rhet, who had lived alone for months and was probably doing some research on his own.
“There were a lot, but I didn’t recognize them or know their functions since we only put them in Theo’s space. But some looked like small robots, and some looked like tools for something.”
“Hmm, it seems that Rhet didn’t just study applied mathematics but studied more,” Luciel commented.
“Yeah, and it seems that he had studied practical things. If his skills are really good, we’ll invite him to the base instead of just dropping him off somewhere after getting out of this dangerous zone,” Treyton said.
Luciel was also interested in seeing what Rhet had been doing in the past months, so he said, “Then, we should look at the things that he had been doing later.”
“Yeah, but we’ll do it after he relaxes a bit. He is obviously too tense around everyone.”
“By the way he dashed to his room immediately, I think he doesn’t even want to come out afterwards,” Luciel said with a chuckle.
Rhet had already introduced himself as a homebody, so it was obvious that he would prefer staying inside rather than going out. But by the way he conversed with others and how eager he was to get away from people, it was obvious that he was avoiding interacting with them.
So, Rhet probably did need to relax a bit before they could talk to him properly.
Nate and Samuel reported more details of what they had seen in Rhet’s apartment, but Luciel wasn’t interested in listening anymore, so he just opened his phone and started playing.
Since he couldn’t go online, he could only play stand-alone games, and he had been using different characters to play them again in the games that he liked.
He liked the game he had been playing a few days ago. That’s why, after he finished leveling up the character to the max, he started playing a new character again.
He was focused on playing, but the kids, who had been playing on their own a while ago, went to sit on the sofa beside him and, after some time, kept staring at him again. So he looked at them and said, “What is it?”
“Brother Luciel!” Sophie said.
“Yeah, what is it?” Luciel asked lazily.
“Brother Luciel, can we have a birthday party?” Ashlee said softly instead of Sophie.
“Birthday party for who?” Luciel asked curiously.
“Lisa’s birthday is tomorrow! Can we have a birthday party?” Sophie asked in a quieter voice but still filled with obvious anticipation.
“Sure, we can. The weather isn’t good anyway, so we can just have some party while staying here,” Luciel agreed readily.
With the strong blizzard, it was obvious that they wouldn’t be able to leave tomorrow, so even if they had a birthday party, it wouldn’t delay things.
“Yeah! Look, I told you guys big brother Luciel will agree!” Sophie said to the other kids while smiling happily.
“N-no, there’s really no need for a birthday party,” Lisa said quietly while looking at him.
“No need to be shy. I already agreed to it,” Luciel said casually and then turned to the other kids and asked, “But how did you guys know that it’s Lisa’s birthday tomorrow?”
“We were learning about months and dates from big brother Austin and big brother Owen. Then we were marking special days, like holidays and birthdays. That’s why we learned about each other’s birthdays. We also learned that Lisa’s birthday is tomorrow,” Ashlee explained.
