Chapter 340: Chapter 339: Arriving at the warehouse

However, he hadn’t used his plant abilities yet and was just using a glaive to clean up the zombies around him. He planned to train his physical strength first, so of course, he wanted to fight using just a glaive or other weapons for as long as possible.

The zombies in the area were mostly level 1, with some level 2 zombies scattered around.

When Luciel had gone out with Treyton and the others before, level 2 zombies were a rare sight. But this time, the number of level 2 zombies was higher.

He couldn’t even see any level 0 zombies anymore, only level 1 and level 2 zombies.

The level 2 zombies moved faster, but Luciel’s speed was still enough to deal with them easily.

The level 2 zombies were basically divided into three categories: some moved very fast, some had enhanced strength, and some had both increased speed and strength.

Most of the level 2 zombies had both stronger bodies and faster speeds.

Some zombies only moved faster, but their speed was even quicker than regular level 2 zombies.

Others maintained the speed of level 1 zombies but had tougher bodies, making them harder to take down than the usual level 2 zombies.

Luciel could still handle the level 1 and level 2 zombies with ease, but of course, dealing with level 2 zombies took more time than with the level 1 ones.

Luciel could usually wipe out multiple level 1 zombies with a single swing of his glaive, as long as they were within range. But with level 2 zombies, he could only take down one per swing, since they were faster and had tougher bodies.

He doesn’t have any problems dealing with such zombies, and as for the other members of the team, they had also improved and could deal with them without any problems.

Even those who were weaker could deal with level 2 zombies as long as they didn’t have other zombies to deal with. So, they still had to often move in groups of three or four to watch each other’s backs, even if they could handle level 2 zombies on their own.

Of course, those who could move on their own, like Luciel, weren’t constrained and were allowed to go and kill zombies on their own, as long as they didn’t go too far from the group and stayed within a distance that could easily be reached by their pairs.

When going out, Treyton has always assigned the others to work in pairs, even though they could indeed deal with those zombies on their own, for their own safety.

In the past few months, the people in the team kept working with others to see who they were really compatible with, and then they would be assigned as pairs when they went out to look out for each other.

In a team like theirs, which has more members, it’s impossible to just assign someone to always watch the movements of the team members and expect them to always be able to aid others in case something happens.

If something happened to just one or two, then those who were assigned to be a lookout could still rescue the members. But if something happened and affected a lot of them, then those who were assigned to look out for the members wouldn’t be able to rescue them.

That’s why Treyton had arranged for others to have a pair, to better focus on just one person. Those in pairs would always work together to kill zombies or ensure that the other was within reach to provide aid if needed.

Of course, Treyton and the others who had stronger abilities still kept a vigil and were always watching the whole area where they were fighting so they could aid others as soon as possible if it was really needed.

They were cleaning up the zombies quickly, but they couldn’t move that fast to reach their destination because the number of zombies that were coming was also a lot.

As time went by, a lot more zombies were coming, so Luciel and the others had to keep moving and killing the zombies so that they would be able to move forward faster.

Zam had already carried Theo to put the other RVs in his space and only left the RV that Luciel was using because Ashlee and the other kids were left there.

Even though Ashlee and the others actually wanted to get out, they were left in the RV because there were too many zombies outside. It wasn’t suitable for them to practice or move around at all, especially since most of them didn’t even reach half the size of the zombies.

Most of the others were already outside, participating in killing zombies, with only two people left behind to watch over Ashlee and the kids and drive the RV.

They could have moved a bit faster if they used other methods to distract the zombies, like using speakers and throwing them out to divert the zombies’ attention. Or they could have used his ability, Treyton’s abilities, or the abilities of others to create a temporary shield around them, preventing the zombies from reaching them.

But they didn’t do that because they had to keep training.

Their goal this time was to push their limits. It didn’t matter if they failed to get anything from the warehouse they were heading to.

However, no one planned to retreat after failure. So, they were pacing themselves, trying to deal with the zombies around them more efficiently to conserve energy.

They were aiming to last longer while killing a lot of zombies, so they were also adjusting the way they used their powers and how they fought.

As they moved towards their destination and tried to clear out the zombies, they were also planning their actions carefully so that they could keep fighting until they reached their goal.

Their destination wasn’t that far, but it still took them 3 hours to arrive due to roadblocks made by zombies and various obstacles like cars, building debris, appliances, and other things likely carried by floodwaters.
