Chapter 338: Chapter 337: Going out of the base for another mission 2

“I see. By the way, have you guys had your breakfast already?”

“Yeah, we’re done. You should eat yours too.”

“Of course, I will. Where’s Treyton?”

“He went to his grandpa’s villa for a bit.”

“I see. Then, I’ll go and have my breakfast first,” Luciel said and headed to the kitchen.

When he got there, he saw Richard and Nina still busy packing a lot of food boxes.

“Luciel, you’re awake. Here’s your breakfast,” Richard said when he saw him enter, then handed him an insulated food box.

Luciel took it and said, “You guys seem to have really prepared a lot this time.”

“Yes, the last time we went out, we didn’t bring enough because we underestimated how long we’d be staying outside. This time, we prepared more food especially ones that can be eaten right away.”

“That’s good. You didn’t forget to pack ice cream and the other food I asked for, right?”

Luciel had already given Nina and Richard a list of food requests after they finalized the schedule for going out.

“Don’t worry, we already prepared all of those ahead of time.”

“Nice! Then, I’ll eat first,” Luciel said and sat down to eat his breakfast.

By the time Treyton came back, Luciel had already finished eating, so there were no delays in their departure.

Everyone was fully prepared, so once Treyton returned, they all headed to their RVs. Since the whole team was traveling again, they used their RVs like before.

Of course, they also had a few extra vehicles stored in Theo’s space, in case the RVs couldn’t pass through certain roads.

They were still near the base, so Luciel just went to the bed in their RV and started watching a movie.

He wanted to start training his body, but there weren’t a lot of zombies near the base. Maybe after two days of driving, he’d finally encounter a large enough number of zombies to deal with.

Of course, even if there was a large number, their team was also large, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to handle the zombies.

If that happened, Luciel wouldn’t be able to train himself as hard as he wanted. So he asked, “Treyton, are we going to use the secluded and more secure routes again?”

“No,” Treyton replied. “All of us need more training, so we’re going to use the roads that pass through slightly more populated areas.

We won’t go too far out of the way and will just follow roads near bigger communities.”

“I see. Then I should really be able to train properly,” Luciel said before going back to watching his movie.

Everyone needed to train harder this time, so they didn’t need to stick to the safer routes like they usually did. Of course, the routes they were taking now probably weren’t the most dangerous either.

In the next few days, as they traveled farther from the base, they did start seeing more and more zombies along the road.

The number of zombies they saw was noticeably higher than when they used the safer routes before.

However, Luciel still didn’t take action yet, as the number of zombies wasn’t enough for him to take seriously.

For the past few days, the ones dealing with the zombies were mostly their newer members, from those who had joined during their last group mission to the recently added ones like Claire. They were dealing with the zombies together with Astrid and others.

The ability users who could already use their powers in a fight were divided into two groups: Dan, Eric, Vivi, and Edwin were grouped together, while Azim, Raffy, Billy, and Claire formed another group.

As for Vivian and Lex, who still couldn’t use their powers in battle, they were grouped with Camille, Lottie, and Jonna, who didn’t have any powers at all.

Sid was placed in a group with Astrid, Bella, Violet, Austin, and Owen. Nolan, who wasn’t an adult yet and still needed more training, was also included in Astrid’s group.

Dan’s group moved together with Vivian’s group, while Azim’s group moved with Astrid’s.

When there were only a few zombies, just two of the groups would move together to deal with them. But when a large number of zombies appeared, all four groups would work together to eliminate the zombies.

Of course, Treyton wouldn’t just let them handle things entirely on their own. The rest of the team kept watch from a distance and were always ready to step in if anything unexpected happened.

Treyton had already arranged these groupings even before the bird attack, back when they were originally supposed to leave the base. So in the past few days of rest, those members had already formed a basic understanding of each other’s abilities and fighting styles.

When Luciel sparred with the others, he also saw these groups training together, slowly building teamwork and coordination for smoother cooperation during combat.

But it was only a few days, so the effect isn’t that obvious yet, but at least it’s better than not knowing anything about the people they would be working with.

From the way they fought, it was easy to tell who had more experience killing zombies and who didn’t.

For example, Dan and his friends were clearly very experienced. They knew exactly which zombies to prioritize and precisely where to strike them.

Even while cooperating with others, they were able to provide timely assistance when someone needed help.

On the other hand, the others, like Vivi, Claire, and Edwin, were ability users, but they weren’t as efficient or decisive as Astrid and the others when it came to dealing with zombies.

It was very obvious that they did have some experience in dealing with zombies, but not much, because they still couldn’t properly time when to use their powers and when to just rely on their weapons.

They were indeed using both their abilities and weapons to kill zombies, but there were a lot of wasteful movements in their actions.
