Chapter 334: Chapter 333: Invited by Mr. Clark 2
“I see. But I won’t be going, as I still need to visit Mr. Acacia,” Luciel said flatly. “And I want to rest early. So after checking in on Mr. Acacia, I’ll head back immediately.”
They hadn’t even bothered to stop by and greet Treyton’s grandfather at the military area or Nathan’s parents at the hospital. Luciel’s only goal was to rearrange the vines and return to the villa to rest.
They were scheduled to leave the base the next day, and this time, Luciel planned to be more active, to fully train himself. He wouldn’t be staying in the car leisurely watching movies or playing games.
That’s why he wanted to rest longer today. He knew he’d be busy once they were out on the mission, so he didn’t want to waste his time meeting people he didn’t even know. Besides, the attitude of the person sent to invite them was unpleasant enough to make Luciel even more unwilling to go.
“Alright then,” Treyton said. “I’ll go alone. I can’t just ignore their invitation.”
Luciel gave a small nod and turned toward their car. But he had only taken two steps when the man who had been sent to summon them blocked his path.
“Mr. Luciel, Mr. Clark said he wanted to meet with both of you. You have to come with me,” the man insisted, his tone no longer polite but commanding.
Seeing the man step in front of him, Luciel let out a low, amused laugh.
“Ahaha.”
“Ah, I haven’t experienced this kind of attitude in a long time,” Luciel said with a smile.
Then, without warning, he reached for the dagger on his waist and swiftly swiped it across the man’s neck, just enough to leave a clean, shallow cut.
Luciel moved so quickly that the man didn’t even react until blood had already started to appear on his neck. Only then did he stumble backward, eyes wide, clearly shaken.
“I already said I won’t go, so I won’t,” Luciel said casually, his tone calm but cold. “Don’t get in my way with that kind of attitude again. Next time, I might really take your head off.”
Without sparing the man another glance, Luciel walked past him and said to Treyton, “I’ll go now. See you later.”
Luciel really hadn’t experienced such a scene for a long time. Back when he had just gotten stronger in his past life, a lot of people came to him.
They wanted to invite him, but they weren’t sincere enough, as the people they sent didn’t even have the proper attitude when extending an invitation.
So, of course, he never bothered to be polite with them and didn’t accept their invitations, no matter what rank or position they held.
Later on, when he became even stronger, those same people started sending more appropriate representatives. The people they sent were polite and knew how to act when inviting someone of his strength. But even when they were polite, he only accepted the invitations that he truly needed to.
He hadn’t encountered such behavior in a while, but this time was no different. He simply dealt with them the same way he always did: he wouldn’t go easy on anyone who tried to force him into something he didn’t want to do.
Because of his attitude, he had offended a lot of people in the past. But he never changed the way he handled such situations.
People like that would always end up offended anyway, regardless of how he refused them. And if he ever gave in and accepted their invitations despite their disrespectful approach, they’d only end up taking advantage of him.
At least by dealing with them this way, they’d realize that he wasn’t someone they could easily push around or manipulate, and they’d be more careful in the future.
Of course, the severity of how he responded always depended on their attitude… and his mood at the time.
If they had been even a little polite, like the man earlier, they’d only suffer a minor injury. But if they had acted more rudely, the consequences would be much worse.
And if Luciel happened to be in a bad mood… even polite words wouldn’t save them from a more serious injury, especially if they said the wrong things in front of him.
So the man he just met could be said to be lucky, as Luciel wasn’t in a bad mood, so he only suffered a shallow cut on his neck.
Mr. Clark might be offended by what he did, but he had already said before that he didn’t want to be disturbed by other people.
Mr. Clark, who also had a high decision power in the base, certainly knew about it, but he still wanted to invite him, so it’s already obvious that it’s Mr. Clark’s fault.
He wasn’t even his subordinate, but Mr. Clark still expected him to show up just because he was summoned, which was exactly the kind of thing Luciel disliked.
Treyton probably didn’t appreciate it either. Unfortunately, due to his grandfather’s position and influence, he still had to give Mr. Clark some face and attend the meeting, even if it came with such a poorly delivered invitation.
Well, Luciel didn’t care about it any longer, as it wasn’t his problem anymore. So he just turned and drove to where Mr. Acacia was.
When he went to where Mr. Acacia was, he spotted White, the mutant dog, playing near Mr. Acacia, who was still covered with vines.
When the birds had attacked the base, he also saw White from a distance fighting off the birds. So even though it’s already a few days later, there were still obvious wounds on White’s body.
But even with the wounds on his body, White was still actively playing by himself around Mr. Acacia.
Luciel didn’t care about White playing around nearby. He just went straight towards where Mr. Acacia was and then began removing the vines that were surrounding Mr. Acacia.
