Chapter 333: Chapter 332: Invited by Mr. Clark

For the whole day, Luciel fought with the other members of the team. He also continued sparring with them over the next two days.

He trained non-stop until he was finally too exhausted and had to rest. Most of the time, he would spar with the other team members first and then finish the day with a match against Treyton.

He truly dedicated his time to training himself, so much so that he even sparred with Treyton during their breaks in their shared space.

His entire schedule was filled with training. He didn’t even have time to watch movies or play games like he usually did.

The only routine he kept was waking up at his usual time, which still meant waking up late, so he hadn’t yet gone to rearrange the vines he had set up at the military area and the hospital.

That’s why, on the fourth day, he ended his sparring sessions early to finally go out of the villa and rearrange the vines, especially since they were scheduled to leave the base the next day.

He wrapped up his training early and left with Treyton to head toward the military area and the hospital.

Even though the base had already been cleaned up, as they exited the community, Luciel could still see clear traces of destruction in the surroundings.

The buildings that had once looked neat and well-maintained were now covered with makeshift barriers and patches that weren’t supposed to be there.

There were also noticeably fewer people roaming around, and those who were outside looked less lively than before the bird attack.

Luciel noticed that many people were still wrapped in bandages.

He also spotted several individuals who kept glancing up at the sky from time to time. They were obviously still on edge.

Luciel observed the area calmly and simply continued going toward the military district with Treyton.

He had seen far worse scenes before, so even though the base had clearly gone through a lot, Luciel still thought it was in better condition compared to many other places.

At the very least, the north base was still able to organize its people properly after such an attack and even provide proper care for them.

The security around the base also didn’t seem to have worsened. Treyton hadn’t mentioned anything related to thievery or disorder, which meant that, even if there were some who took advantage of the chaos, not many had done so, or at least not to the point that it became a problem worth reporting.

In Luciel’s eyes, the base was still in relatively good condition. So, after briefly looking around, he didn’t linger and simply moved on.

When they arrived at the military area, Luciel could see that many people were still there aside from the soldiers who were normally stationed in the facility.

Luciel wanted to rearrange the vines as quickly as possible, so he asked Treyton to take him to a place nearby where there weren’t any people around. That way, he could manipulate the vines without drawing attention.

Treyton was very familiar with the layout of the military area, so he immediately brought him to a secluded spot.

Luciel had already seen the layout and the design that the base wanted for the vine coverings in the military area, so he just followed that. He began rearranging the vines to form the requested window spaces and adjusted them according to the sizes that they wanted.

Once he was done with the military area, he headed to the hospital and rearranged the vines there as well, following the instructions he had been given.

He wanted to leave right after and go to where Mr. Acacia was, since he had also arranged some vines there. And it wouldn’t be good for Mr. Acacia to remain covered under a dome of vines without sunlight for too long.

However, just as they were leaving the hospital, someone stopped them.

“Mr. Treyton and Mr. Luciel, Mr. Clark is looking for you. Please come with me for a moment,” a man who looked like a bodyguard said politely, though his tone was clearly laced with condescension, making it obvious that he wasn’t being entirely respectful.

Luciel glanced sideways and asked, “Do you know who he’s talking about? Why does that person even have the right to order us around?”

“He’s currently an official of the base,” Treyton replied calmly, “with decision-making power second only to my grandfather.”

“He has that kind of authority even though he’s not in the military?” Luciel asked, surprised.

They were, after all, in the North Base, which was primarily run by the military, so Luciel was questioning how a non-military official could hold such influence.

“He’s an old man who’s earned the respect of many people, even the soldiers in the military. And his wife’s family is also a renowned military family. Most of their family members, like ours, served or are serving in the army. If you’re looking for prominent military families in the North Base, theirs ranks just below ours.”

“I see. But why haven’t I heard of them before?” Luciel asked.

He hadn’t heard them before, but he actually already knew about them because of the novel. When he heard the name Clark and with what Treyton had mentioned, he had already remembered who those people were.

Their family could be said to be the main power rival of Treyton’s family in the base. While Treyton’s family currently held the upper hand, certain events that would happen later would shift the balance, making their powers almost equal.

But none of those things had happened yet, so Luciel didn’t bother thinking too deeply about it for now and just continued listening to Treyton.

“They’ve been quiet so far because their most capable family members weren’t in the North Base. Apparently, they were away on a long-term mission,” Treyton explained.

“Oh, so they’re starting to make moves now because those people are about to return?” Luciel asked.

“I haven’t heard of any confirmed news that they’ve returned,” Treyton said, “but they’ve probably received word that those family members will be back soon.”
