Capítulo 271: 271 – Departure
“Keep training the magic I taught you, it will greatly help you in battle.”
Bryan told Raye with a smug smile on his face, his tone carrying both pride and amusement. He was talking about [Telekinesis]— a magic that Raye learned from him and practiced with relentless effort.
“Don’t worry, I don’t intend to ever slack off just because I’m out of the academy.”
Raye replied to him with a shrug, his voice calm yet firm. His confidence wasn’t arrogance— it was the quiet assurance of someone who knew the path he wanted to take.
‘I have a goal, and for that— I need to continue getting even stronger.’
He added in his head, his gaze firm, his heart resolute.
“…”
Bryan saw the determined look on his face, that unwavering glint in his eyes. For a moment, the Headmaster didn’t say anything. He just stared at Raye silently, as if seeing through the walls he built around himself. Then, opening his mouth—
“You’ve changed a lot since you first got here.”
He said that with a smile, a genuine one that carried warmth and pride.
Raye looked at him, then nodded slightly.
“True.”
He mumbled, keeping his tone short but sincere.
The Headmaster was talking about how Raye had changed ever since he got admitted to the academy— back then, when the original Raye was still in his body.
He was called scum and many names. A lot despised him. Many hated him and wished for his downfall. His existence was something people used to mock and trample on. But now… those things were gone. They disappeared quietly like smoke scattered by the wind.
‘Well, the obvious reason for that is because I’m not the real Raye.’
Raye thought as he let out a quiet breath. Then, remembering the first time he got into this world, he couldn’t help but reflect—
‘Though, I did really change a lot since then. I like this life much more.’
He muttered that in his head, smiling faintly as the corners of his lips lifted.
…
…
…
Anyway… Aside from Bryan—
Sariel and Ramiel approached Raye as well.
“You’ve come far, I’m proud of you.”
Sariel said with a genuine smile, the kind that made Raye’s chest feel lighter.
“Thank you.”
Raye bowed his head slightly to him and responded. Sariel was the first professor who believed in him, who saw something beyond the surface and gave him a chance when no one else did. Raye would always be grateful for that.
“Hmm, train more and become even stronger— let’s spar again when we see each other next time.”
Ramiel grinned, his usual confident tone echoing the familiarity between them.
“Sure, but next time… I’ll win.”
Raye shot back with a confident smirk of his own.
Ramiel had helped him grow stronger throughout his time in the academy. He sparred with him countless times, especially during the last few weeks. Yet, not even once did Raye manage to win against him.
Still, he didn’t see those losses as defeats— they were lessons that shaped his current strength.
Anyway, after that moment between them…
Bryan, Sariel, and Ramiel began to approach the others who were also preparing for their own journeys. One by one, they wished them safety and good luck. Each word carried sincerity and faith.
They gave advice, small reminders that would help in their future battles, their adventures, their growth.
Just like Raye, the others too received teachings from these three in the past weeks.
From all the professors, even!
Everyone in the academy gave what they could to prepare them— to help them hone, polish, and expand their skills before stepping out into heir adventure.
Speaking of that—
The other professors arrived not long after, Charles leading the group with his usual composed demeanor.
They gathered together and started wishing Raye and the others safe travels, repeating what the first three professors had said with their own warmth and pride.
*****
A few hours later—
It was finally time for Raye, Leon, and the others to leave.
“…”
They all stood quietly at the gate of [Zion Academy]. No one spoke for a while.
The bustling sound of the town, the laughter of people enjoying the ongoing festival— everything continued in the background, yet slowly… those sounds faded. One by one, eyes began to turn toward them.
With the Headmaster and all the professors gathered there, it was only natural for people to look.
“Are those the [Heroes]?”
“They look… young…”
“Yeah, but I heard they’re super strong.”
Whispers like that rippled through the crowd, reaching Raye and the group. But none of them paid any attention. They didn’t come for attention or praise.
“You sure you guys don’t need to announce your departure?”
Ramiel asked, glancing at Leon and Raye with an amused look.
“Ugh, the festival is already too much— just let them enjoy it.”
Raye replied with a groan, scratching his neck.
“Yeah, and it’s embarrassing too.”
Leon followed right after, his expression matching the tone perfectly.
Behind them— Jerusha, Sofia, Lycus, Aria, and Allen— all nodded their heads in agreement.
They didn’t want to make a fuss either. They preferred a quiet goodbye.
“Well, whatever then, if that’s what you brats want.”
Ramiel muttered under his breath. Then, he looked beside him.
TAP—
The Headmaster, Bryan Blackwood, stepped forward.
“May the gods bless your groups and guide you in your journeys. Take care.”
He said it simply, but every word felt heavy with meaning.
Raye, Leon, and the others bowed their heads deeply for a good few seconds before standing upright again, their eyes filled with confidence and resolve.
“…”
The professors smiled at the sight of them, proud of what they’d become.
Then, with that—
“We’ll be off.”
“We’re off.”
Raye and Leon stepped out of the gate first. They had left the academy many times before, but this time… this one felt different. It would be a long while before they’d return.
Jerusha, Lycus, Allen, Sofia, and Aria turned their backs and followed right after the two.
Then, from behind the two parties—
“I’ll take care of Old Man Rey and the cabin!”
Devin exclaimed, raising his hand high as his voice echoed.
“And we’ll be waiting for you guys!”
He added with a bright, wide smile.
“Take care everyone! Stay safe!”
Kyle followed enthusiastically.
“Wait for me— I’ll set out to protect the human race too once everything is done on my side!”
Lena shouted next, her voice filled with determination.
“…”
“…”
Raye and Leon smiled faintly as they heard their voices. They didn’t turn back; instead, they simply raised their hands and waved in the air as a reply.
On the other hand—
Jerusha turned around, waving back energetically, her voice trembling slightly.
“I’ll miss you guys!”
She shouted, trying to keep her tone cheerful.
“Me too!”
Sofia followed after, her tears finally falling as she cried openly.
“…”
Aria, Allen, and Lycus didn’t say anything. But they turned around one last time to wave goodbye as well, their expressions calm yet bittersweet.
And with that—
Raye, Jerusha, Lycus, Sofia, Leon, Allen, and Aria…
The seven of them left the [Zion Academy] and began the next chapter of their lives— their adventure had finally begun.
