Capítulo 270: 270 – Plaques

“I’m going back to Dravenhart Kingdom for a while. As you already know— the succession battle is happening soon to decide the heir to the throne.”

Lena’s tone was calm but carried an underlying confidence that instantly drew everyone’s attention. The group turned to her, listening closely.

“I decided to compete in it.”

She said that without hesitation. Then, with a casual shrug of her shoulders, she added—

“And after I win, I’ll use my authority and help you guys in fighting against the demons.”

Her voice carried pride and determination, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind that she meant every word. The others exchanged glances, clearly impressed.

Then, all of them showed genuine support for her.

Lena smiled, feeling their encouragement. She gave a short, grateful bow of her head and thanked all of them sincerely.

‘Her goal is still the same as in the game story… She’s really a noble through and through, huh.’

Raye thought with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

He remembered how he found Lena annoying when they first met— nosy, confident, and always stubborn about everything. But now, after everything that had happened, he couldn’t deny that he was glad they became friends.

Moving on, in that moment—

“Anyway, where are you guys heading first?”

Devin suddenly asked that, his tone casual but curious. He looked at Raye and Leon.

“We’re heading to the Rose Village. It’s the nearest human territory southwest from here.”

Raye replied without hesitation.

“Hmm, our first destination is Ciara Village— monsters started appearing frequently there last month. We want to help out.”

Leon followed, crossing his arms as he spoke.

‘There’s a demon there. A goblin-like demon that commands monsters— it’s the first mission in the game after leaving Zion.’

Raye thought as he heard Leon’s words, recalling that same quest vividly from the storyline.

Anyway—

“Ohh, coincidentally, we have business partners in both of those villages!”

Devin exclaimed that after hearing their answers, his tone lighting up. Then he turned to look at Kyle beside him.

Kyle nodded once and walked toward Raye and Leon. From his pouch, he took out two golden plaques and handed them to the two.

The plaques gleamed faintly, a beef skewer engraved at the center like a logo.

“If you show them this, they’ll treat you well. You can also get free lodgings and food; we’ll pay them in your stead.”

He paused briefly before continuing—

“You can use them in other villages too if we have business partners there. You’ll see the same engraving on their doors.”

Kyle explained clearly, his tone a mix of pride and sincerity.

And at his words—

Raye, Leon, Jerusha, Aria, Lycus, Sofia, and Allen widened their eyes in surprise.

The plaques were no ordinary gifts— they were practically passes of trust and reputation.

Raye and Leon opened their mouths to say something—

“You will fight demons. This is the only way we can assist you guys— don’t feel burdened, just let us help.”

But before they could even say anything else, Kyle spoke again, his voice steady but filled with emotion. A faint, resolute smile appeared on his face.

“…”

“…”

Raye and Leon both fell silent for a moment. They looked at their respective parties, exchanging glances, before turning their attention back to Kyle and Devin.

“Thanks.”

“We’ll use it well.”

Raye and Leon said, their tones calm but grateful.

Jerusha and the others followed, expressing their thanks too.

Devin waved his hand casually, brushing off their gratitude with a grin, while Kyle just scratched the back of his head awkwardly. He wasn’t used to praise, after all.

Then, at that moment—

“Take these as well.”

It was Lena’s voice. She stepped forward and handed each of them another plaque!

Ans this time, the symbol engraved on it was instantly recognizable— it was the royal crest of Dravenhart’s royal family!

“…!”

Raye and Leon froze on the spot. The weight of what she handed them was not something small.

“Those will help you prove your identities in other kingdoms. And if you ever need it— that plaque can get you help from their military.”

Lena explained. Then, with a bright, confident smile—

“Ah, and if you guys end up in Dravenhart Kingdom— pay me a visit.”

She added, her tone almost teasing at the end.

“Wow, you guys are really something.”

Raye said, looking at the three of them— Lena, Kyle, and Devin— back and forth, a small laugh escaping his lips.

“We can’t thank you enough, these will help us greatly.”

Leon followed up, a huge smile forming on his face.

Jerusha and the others quickly joined in, voicing their thanks one after another. Sofia, Jerusha, and Aria even went ahead and hugged Lena tightly.

Lena laughed softly, her arms wrapping around them as well. Kyle and Devin exchanged glances, their expressions full of pride and satisfaction seeing everyone happy.

“Did you three plan this?”

Raye asked, his tone half-serious, half-playful.

The three shook their heads almost in sync.

“Just a coincidence, haha.”

Devin answered for all of them, still grinning.

Then , at that moment—

TAP—

“Looks like you kids are having fun, huh.”

A deep, calm voice came from behind them.

The Headmaster had arrived.

He wasn’t alone, on his sides were Sariel and Ramiel, standing tall as always.

Raye, Leon, and the others instantly straightened and bowed their heads respectfully to greet them.

“Raise your heads. Don’t be so stiff.”

Bryan, the Headmaster, said with a light chuckle.

Then, his gaze shifted toward Raye, his lips curling into a mischievous smile.

‘You wouldn’t be able to leave quietly, brat.’

The Headmaster thought to himself, amused.

Raye noticed his look and frowned.

Anyway, moving on—

“I would like to wish you all good fortune in your journeys… Stay safe and protect humanity.”

Bryan said sincerely, his tone heavy with meaning.

“We’re sorry to place heavy burdens on your shoulders, young ones. But the human race needs you. Our numbers are not enough…”

He continued. Then, slowly bowing his head—

“Thank you for accepting such a responsibility. May the gods bless you.”

He finished with that.

“…”

“…”

Everyone fell silent for a moment. None of them expected the Headmaster himself to bow his head. The gesture left them stunned.

But after a brief pause—

“Thank you, we’ll do our best.”

Raye was the first to respond, breaking the silence with firm words.

“We were given the choice to decline. This responsibility wasn’t forced on us— we decided to take it.”

Leon followed, his voice calm yet determined.

Bryan, Sariel, and Ramiel smiled at their replies, visibly proud.

Then, Sariel stepped toward Leon while Ramiel approached Raye.

“…?”

“…?”

The two Hero Representatives blinked in confusion.

FWIP—

Both Sariel and Ramiel took out plaques— again. This time, they bore the crest of Zion Academy itself!

“Take those— they’ll give you access to most places, and they’re proof that you’re acting under the academy and the empire’s name.”

Bryan explained.

Hearing that—

“…”

“…”

Leon and Raye looked at each other silently.

Then in their heads—

‘What’s with people giving us plaques now?’

They both thought at the same time. A small smile appeared on their faces at such a coincidence.
