——+——+——+——

“Mhm… I’m honestly proud that I got so strong this soon,” I muttered to myself, as I lay down on my comfy bed.

And yes, I didn’t get any further with Christina.

To be honest, I’m still considering whether I should forgive her or not.

Either way, I can’t waste time thinking about that. The attack against the Seraphic Division starts in three days, and I need to be ready for it.

So, I stood up from the bed, and even though it was night, I walked down the halls until I reached the training halls.

Empty…

Just perfect!

“…Should I use [Midnight]…?” I frowned lightly.

But then, I quickly shook my head as I brought it out either way. Then, I opened the door to the 4✯ True God-level puppet.

I figured that it was strong enough to handle one of my sword techniques… I think.

Coincidentally, he was using a Glaive.

That brings me back memories of those stupid security guards on that damned underground laboratory.

Thankfully, that stupid scientist only had high attributes in mana, because if not, I’d probably escape missing a limb.

“Fuuu…”

I exhaled deeply, a cold breath escaping my lips.

“This feels nostalgic somehow…”

I couldn’t help but chuckle lightly.

“Moonlit Ice Lotus Sword Art…”

My eyes glowed intensely.

『 First Move! (✦ Ice Lotus Bloom ✦) 』

Swish!

A silver aura wrapped around my blade, forming a glimmering lotus that bloomed in midair before bursting apart in a storm of crystalline shards.

FREEZEE!

The whole training room turned into complete ice, along with the puppet, who couldn’t even move after my blow.

“…That’s it?”

I looked at the puppet in surprise. Usually, it shows a green light when it’s activated, and a red light indicates that it’s been defeated.

And right now, it had a deep red light, meaning that it truly couldn’t hold a single blow from me.

“Weak…”

I waved my hand, and then the room returned to normal before I decided to enter the next room.

This time… the puppet better hold against my attack!

“Moonlit Ice Lotus Sword Art…”

『 First Move! (✦ Ice Lotus Bloom ✦) 』

BOOOOOOM!

The whole room once again turned into ice, but this time, the puppet remained with the same green light.

SWOOP!

It appeared instantly before me, swinging its glaive at my shoulder.

CLANG!

The glaive crashed down, and I raised my sword just in time to block it.

The sound echoed through the training hall, metal grinding against metal as sparks scattered in the air.

“…Not bad!”

The puppet twisted its weapon sideways, trying to push me off balance, but I leaned my weight in and kicked its chest.

BAM!

It slid back several meters, boots scraping against the frozen floor before it steadied itself and dashed forward again.

“Fine, then…” I whispered, tightening my grip.

WHOOSH!

The glaive sliced the air, aiming for my neck. I bent backward, barely avoiding the edge, and swung upward toward its arm.

CLANG!

The puppet blocked, forcing me to step back as the impact shook my hand.

It followed up with a quick spin, the long blade slicing horizontally. I ducked under it, sweeping my sword low at its legs.

CLANG!

Every hit made the air shake, and cracks began to form on the reinforced walls of the training room.

If this weren’t a sealed chamber, we’d probably already have space distortions tearing the place apart.

Fwip!

The puppet suddenly thrust forward, a straight stab aimed right at my chest, to which I twisted sideways, letting it pass me by, then slammed my elbow into its jaw.

BAAAM!

The puppet shot backward like a bullet, smashing into the wall hard enough to leave a deep crack in the reinforced surface.

“Damn…” I muttered, rolling my shoulders as the echo faded.

Then, taking the opportunity, I bent my legs slightly, holding my sword back with both hands, the blade gleaming faintly under the dim light.

“Moonlit Ice Lotus Sword Art…”

『 Third Move! (✦ Moonlight’s One Flash ✦) 』

Fwip!

A flash of silver light burst forward, cutting through the air, followed by a sharp and loud crack sound.

“….”

I blinked.

“…Shit.”

The puppet’s right arm dropped to the floor, cleanly sliced off. A puff of white steam rose from the cut as the system lights inside its body flickered and died.

“I didn’t mean to break it…” I sighed, rubbing my temple. “Guess I should get the hell out of here before someone asks what happened.”

I sheathed my sword, walked out of the training hall, and made my way toward the academy’s garden.

It was quiet there.

Phew~

The soft breeze brushed through the leaves, carrying the faint scent of flowers.

The grass under my shoes was cool, damp from the night air.

Just like Silverleaf… this place had that same peaceful feeling. It helped me think, or maybe just forget things for a little while.

So yeah…

I decided to lie down on the grass, staring at the night sky. Countless stars hung above, scattered endlessly across the darkness.

It’s crazy to think that I now… can pick up these stars if I want.

Before, I didn’t even think about doing it, but now, I have the power to do so.

One year, and eleven months, huh?

And that was enough for me to turn into a god.

“Time really does pass fast, and thinking about it… I didn’t even have a proper relationship with Alaine, Vivian…”

I sighed deeply, my eyes fixed on the glowing moon above me.

I was so obsessed with getting stronger that I kinda forgot about these things. After all, it’s not easy trying to handle so many partners at once.

“Vivian…”

My first lover.

Even now, her face still comes to mind so clearly.

That gentle smile, the way her voice would calm me down after every long day… and yet, I never even gave her a proper ceremony.

I really need to marry her after I’m done with killing those gods.

She deserves that much, at least.

The Seraphic Division alone has around twelve hundred gods.

That’s already a big chunk out of my twenty-thousand target.

The problem is, the other three divisions, especially the Eternal Tribunal, are filled with actual monsters. Gods that have reached the eight-star level.

And the Eternal Tribunal… I probably won’t be able to touch them until I reach the sixth star. Right now, I’m only at the second.

“Gosh… it’s still a long journey, indeed…”

I muttered as I lazily stretched my body in the grass, while I still looked at the moon with a faint smile on my lips.

The moon…

“Luna…”

The name slipped from my lips before I even realized it.

Just saying it made my chest tighten.

I could almost see her, her beautiful hair swaying under the same moonlight, her eyes glowing faintly as she smiled that soft, distant smile of hers.

I really want to see her again.

Every time I look at the moon, it’s like she’s right there, watching me… reminding me that she’s still waiting for me.

“Fuuu…”

I pushed myself up, the night cold clinging to my skin, and stared back at the moon as if it were an old promise.

“I’ll see you again, Luna,” I said softly, my voice was barely louder than the wind itself.

“But not yet.”

A thin smile curved my lips, but it didn’t reach my eyes as those were already sharpened and cold, filled with undeniable killing intent.

From the perspective of others, they must be glowing quite fiercely…

“Before I can stand before you properly, I have to finish what I started a ninety-nine lives ago,” I murmured.

“Every hand that ever reached for me with poison, every eye that once wished me pain across my ninety-nine reincarnations… they’ll all be counted.”

I felt my Authority of Karma leak out as soon as I said those words, causing a faint white and black aura to leak out of my body.

“I’ll repay them tenfold,” I whispered coldly.

My hand curled around the hilt of [Midnight] as I summoned it, and then, raised it towards the beautiful moon.

“And when the last of them falls, when the scales at last tip in my favor… then I’ll walk to her under an untroubled moon.”

I breathed once, slow and sure.

“That’s how debts are closed. That’s how the world levels itself.”

Silence spread, vast and final, then, quiet as falling snow, I finished:

“Because that is…”

My voice trailed off as the black and white aura turned extremely intense, even causing multiple space cracks to appear around me.

“…Karma.”

Phew!

Finally reached the end of the first part of the fourth volume!

Lesss goooo!

Thank you for reading until now!
