Chapter 329: Karma (XLVII)
I guess she’s the Goddess of Lust for a reason…
And thinking of this, my lips curled up slighly, as I wrapped my hands around Lorin’s shoulder with a teasing smirk.
“Then, tell me… was she that good? Did she sway up and down while riding you?”
Kael froze instantly, and Tyrian looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole. Lorin, on the other hand, turned beet red.
“Oh come on,” I said, grinning as I looked between the three of them.
“Don’t tell me you all went quiet now. I mean—” I leaned closer to Lorin, voice dripping with mock curiosity, “—did she really make you moan that much? Maybe she whispered some divine blessing into your ear too?”
“Shut the hell up!” Kael snapped, face bright red.
Tyrian groaned into his hands, muttering something about me being insane.
“Come on~,” I pressed on, clearly enjoying their embarrassment.
“I just want to know if she’s really as good as the rumors say. Or maybe—”
But before I could finish, something warm wrapped around my waist from behind.
A soft breath brushed against my ear.
“Are you that~ curious~?” Selindra’s voice purred.
“Do you want to try it yourself?”
Her tone dripped with honey, the faint scent of jasmine curling into the air as she leaned even closer, her lips grazing the edge of my ear.
Despite that, her voice didn’t entice me a little bit.
Kael, Tyrian, and Lorin stood frozen, waiting to see what I’d do.
Then I laughed softly.
“You really don’t know when to quit, do you?” I murmured lightly.
I reached down, pried her hands off my waist, and turned to face her.
Selindra looked beautiful, of course.
She always did.
The kind of beauty that turned reason into dust. But I’d seen enough of what was behind that smile to know better.
“Sorry to disappoint you,” I said, brushing imaginary dust off my coat.
“But I’m not interested in used things.”
Her smile faltered.
“You—”
“Relax,” I interrupted, taking a step back.
“I’m sure there are still a few guys left in the academy you haven’t gotten your claws into. Maybe start there.”
Her eyes narrowed, the corners of her lips twitching upward, half smile, half snarl. For a moment, she said nothing.
But then, slowly, her temperament changed.
A faint shimmer rippled through the air around her, sweet at first, like the scent of flowers after rain… but then it thickened.
…The air turned hot… almost wet.
She was using her Authority of Lust.
Even without looking, I could feel it spreading like silk threads through the room, brushing against skin, slithering into the air.
“Ugh… dammit!” Kael let out a strained grunt, his body tensing immediately.
He pressed his legs together and turned half away, fists trembling as he fought against the rising heat.
“H-holy shit…”
Tyrian’s reaction was rougher.
He grabbed his collar, pulling it open a little as sweat gathered at his temple.
“F-fuck, not again…” he muttered, trying to breathe normally, but his voice came out shaky, cracked.
Lorin just froze altogether.
His face flushed pink, eyes glazed, lips parting slightly. He didn’t even try to hide it. Just stood there trembling, thighs pressed tight, lost in the haze she exuded.
Selindra’s lips curved in satisfaction as she watched them squirm, her expression softening into a dangerous smile.
But when her eyes met mine, she froze.
I stood exactly as before, arms crossed, calm as ever.
Her expression faltered.
“That weak thing won’t work on me,” I sighed, tilting my head slightly.
Her smile disappeared, and she clenched her jaw tightly.
“You must be a damn eunuch!” she spat.
I laughed quietly at that, stepping forward.
“A eunuch, huh?”
Her chin lifted, defiant, but the faintest flicker of uncertainty crossed her gaze.
Without a word, I raised my hand and pressed my index finger gently against her forehead.
She flinched, only slightly, but it was enough. Her breath hitched, and for a second, a small shiver rippled through her body.
Her face flushed faintly pink, betraying her.
“Am I?” I asked softly, meeting her eyes with a teasing smirk.
Selindra blinked, her lips parting, but no words came out. She turned her face away, breaking eye contact as the warmth in her cheeks deepened.
“Now,” I said quietly, “dispel your authority. The others are about to pounce on you at any moment.”
Her gaze flicked toward the three behind me. Kael was practically biting his lip, Tyrian’s eyes had gone dark with strain, and Lorin looked ready to collapse.
But instead of removing her divine influence, Selindra’s mouth curved again, slowly, mischievously.
“Let them,” she whispered, voice dripping with amusement.
“It wouldn’t be the first time I had a foursome~.”
She laughed softly, eyes gleaming with wicked delight.
I stared at her for a beat.
“And you don’t care, do you~?” she purred.
Was she trying to make me jealous…?
Is her confidence that big… gosh.
I blinked once, then exhaled through my nose and turned away.
“That’s right,” I murmured.
“I actually find that quite disgusting… so have fun, you four.”
I lifted my hand in a lazy wave and started walking off.
But before I’d even taken three steps, the heat vanished.
The air snapped back to normal, and the presence of her authority was gone.
I turned around and saw Selindra’s lips twitch again, her expression changing between anger and embarrassment.
Then, with a sudden huff, she spun around, her long hair whipping through the air like a streak of fire.
“I swear I’ll make you fall into my bed willingly!” she shouted.
And before I could even respond, her form shimmered—then vanished, leaving behind nothing but the faint trace of her perfume and a stunned silence.
I blinked once.
Then sighed, rubbing the back of my neck.
“…Yeah, good luck with that.”
Turning around, I found Kael, Tyrian, and Lorin still half-dazed, blinking like they’d just survived an explosion.
“You really are weaklings,” I said flatly, crossing my arms.
“Bro, I—how the hell do you even stay normal around that woman? She’s like a walking fever dream!” Kael groaned, rubbing his temples.
Tyrian huffed, still catching his breath.
“Tch, easy for you to say! You’ve got whatever weird divine resistance going on! The rest of us are just… simple gods, alright?”
Lorin raised a trembling hand, face still flushed.
“I—I think my soul just sinned,” he muttered, staring at the floor like it had answers. “Like, genuinely. I felt things, man…”
I couldn’t help but snort.
“You felt things? You looked like you were about to crawl to her on all fours.”
“Shut up,” Lorin muttered weakly.
“I was trying to resist! You think I like almost losing control in public?” Tyrian rolled his eyes.
“Didn’t look like resistance from where I was standing,” I said dryly.
Kael jabbed a finger at me, glaring.
“You’re one to talk! Not everyone has your freakish self-control, Mr. ‘I’m immune to Lust herself!'”
I raised an eyebrow.
“Maybe if you three stopped thinking with your lower halves for once, you’d actually build some.”
“Yeah, easy to say when your ‘lower half’ is apparently on airplane mode.” Kael scoffed.
Tyrian snorted at that, laughing despite himself.
“Airplane mode… gods, that’s actually perfect.”
“Can we not talk about his lower half, please? I’m still trying to recover my dignity here.” Lorin sighed dramatically.
I chuckled and started walking toward the exit.
“Recover faster, then. If she ever pulls that stunt again, I’m not saving you.”
“Wait… y-you’re not the one who got hit with it!” Tyrian called after me.
I waved a hand over my shoulder.
“Exactly. So next time, try not to drool on the floor.”
Their collective groan echoed behind me as I walked away, letting the cool air hit my face.
Anyway, I should simply go back to the dormitory and continue cultivating, as there are no more classes today.
I need to get stronger as fast as possible, so if Lunara tries to pull any stunts, I have the power to run away.
She’s too strong for me to deal with right now.
Besides… I’m pretty sure that she has a lot of admirers, so I’ll probably get a lot of duel requests from that.
I’m so fucking unlucky… why did I have to be the President’s Secretary of all positions?
Was it because I was flawless during the interview?
Dammit…
I shouldn’t have acted that righteously.
“Fuck…” I sighed, furrowing my eyebrows.
If I’m not wrong, it’s almost time for the midterms, and I sure don’t know what to expect from a Divine Academy.
Maybe they’ll make us want mythical beasts or something?
“Aestrea!”
A voice quickly shook my thoughts away.
It was that violet-eyed woman from Selindra’s group.
If I’m not wrong… her name was…
“Vanya?”
“That’s me!” she grinned playfully, before taking my arm between her breasts.
Fucking hell…
What’s up with them always doing this to me?
“Want to go watch something fun?” she asked me, still grinning widely.
Hmn…
“Sure.”
“Great!” Vanya smiled brightly.
“Let’s go, I heard that the Divine Stairway has actually opened!”
…Huh?
The Divine Stairway…?
