The Strongest Curse Master - Chapter 465
Capítulo 465: Not So Smart
‘Your Highness, all the sensors of the droid have been compromised by an unknown substance. I recommend using your curse senses for navigation. Switching to manual mode,’ Trixie informed her master as they lay on the ground without a clue about what was happening outside as all their sensors were covered by a layer of what appeared to be glowing snow after they were hit by the light beam attack of the redhead. It was one of the variables their droids weren’t prepared for. So they switched to manual operation, such that Kidd can defend himself following his curse senses.
The layer of glowing snow covering Kidd’s Droid was none other than Froslight. The moment Ava’s light beam form came in contact with Kidd, squarely on his chest, all the light particles interacting with his Droid especially its sensors froze into a what appeared like a very thin layer of glowing snow, robing the Droid of most of its senses.
Trixie tried all the measures mentioned in their regular protocols for on-field droid maintaince to try and remove the thin layer of glowing and cold unknown substance blocking their sensors. But none of it worked. Caught unguarded and unprepared, Kidd lay on the ground struggling to get back on his feet, like a turtle on its back, about to be pile-drilled six hundred feet underground.
Meanwhile, outside, Sonia stood above the blonde guest, using her body to protect him from Ava’s wrath while Layla tried to persuade the latter, “Ava, calm down! Ace won’t like you harassing Dee3’s guests.”
“To hell with Ace. I’m going to bury this son of a bitch today,” the large froslight pile drill said as it began to spin prepared to drill through Sonia to get to the blonde jerk having just realized that Sonia was partially immortal being drilled to death shouldn’t be new to her. Surprising the guests who were watching the drama unfold.
Just when Layla and Sonia were beginning to accept they failed to change Ava’s mind, the duo suddenly felt a sense of dread and noticed the glowing pile drill revert back into Ava as she began to fall to the ground. Just as they planned to break their teammates fall, a woman in a black leather jacket caught the falling Ava before they could and coldly remarked, “I have no idea what’s this is about but I would ask you to save it for until after the funeral or if it can’t wait, take it outside the curse array.”
As she put Ava back on her feet, Matthews rushed over and, nearing her rebellious daughter, she glared at her as she uttered under her breath, “Ava, what I say? Did you already forget? It hasn’t even been that long.”
“Mom—” Ava began planning to tell her side of the story, but Matthews didn’t want to hear it. Instead, she sternly ordered her, “Save it for when we return home. Now just apologize to this gentleman and let us get over with it.”
“No, I am not. This blonde pervert threatened that he would terminate me from the agent training program if I don’t do as he says. When I still didn’t listen, he added he would demote you to a janitor at the Frozen North,” Ava refused to apologize and was purposefully misleading with her words. Not only to get back at the jerk but to save herself from her mother’s rage.
Listening to Ava, the surrounding curse users looked at the blonde in question as he finally managed to get back on his feet thanks to Sonia’s help, who didn’t believe a single word that came out of Ava’s mouth. Even though it has only been a few days since Sonia has gotten to know Ava, she knew her enough to tell if she was lying or not.
“No, she is ly—” Kidd, who finally used his curse sense to manually operate his droid and caught the redhead’s accusation against him, tried to defend himself but Ava cut in screaming, “Did you not threaten to terminate me from rookie training program?”
“I only did that because—” Kidd told the truth and tried to explain himself, but Ava interrupted him again, yelling, “Yes or no!”
“Yes,” Kidd answered, and Ava continued, “Did you not threaten me that you would demote my mother and transfer her to a base at the Frozen North as a janitor?”
“Yes, I bid. But—” Without giving Kidd an opportunity to explain himself, Ava fired, “What else is there to listen? I say we behead this perverted paedophile before he uses his rank to ruin other innocent lives. Who’s with me?”
Nobody came to support Ava’s suggestion, not her teammates or her own mother. Everyone who bothered to concern themselves with this drama smelled bullshit in her words but just couldn’t figure out which word it was. But, Matthews did. Yet, she let it play out, not taking part in it, wanting to see how her daughter would fare. She knew her daughter was devious when it helped her, but one should know their limits. Since Ava wasn’t cooperating with her to learn through regular means, she decided to be creative.
“Stop lying! You were—” Kidd tried to defend, but Ava didn’t let him, thundering, “Save it! Just go hang yourself and do us all a huge favor.”
Kidd might be smarter and have higher body count than Ava, she had more experience in bullying than the former. Leaving him helpless in this situation. If not for his mission and him not wanting to crash Dee3’s pet owl’s funeral, he would have released his curse droid army at this lying redhead and showed her exactly what he was feeling right now.
“I don’t know what’s going on here, but if you two don’t stop disturbing the funeral party before—”
Seeing that Matthews wasn’t planning to step in, the lady in a black leather jacket decided to put an end to it but was interrupted by the sparks that began to fly out of the blonde agent’s body. Then a realization struck her, and grabbing the blonde agent, she turned to leave, saying, “I will handle him. You guys continue with… whatever this is. Just don’t upset Dee3 any further.”
Having said that, the lady in a black leather jacket dragged the blonde agent away effortlessly despite his struggle.
Seeing the jerk taken care of, Ava sighed in relief. She then turned to her mother and announced, “Mom, I’m withdrawing from the C. I. B. Agent training program. I don’t want to work for a soulless organization that caters to a few under the guise of the big picture.”
