Chapter 301: Shameless Vixen

Suddenly, the atmosphere in the chamber shifted.

Caelum’s aura began to intensify, a dark, bluish-coloured energy writhing around him like living things as his power manifested in waves of oppressive darkness.

The tent flapped uncontrollably, and his aura was becoming bigger, spreading throughout the camp area and to the other places too.

But Raayani was never one to back down from a challenge.

She smirked, seeing that Caelum was subtly challenging her, showing her his power.

Then her own aura rose to meet his, a brilliant blue radiance that pulsed with the exotic power of the Blue Rose Seraglio. She grinned, seeing his aura increasing, her eyes gleaming with the thrill of confronting such raw strength.

Of course, she knew that it was difficult to win against him, but she was never afraid—fear was a luxury that leaders of her calibre could not afford.

She was a bit startled when she took on his aura head-on. He had certainly grown far stronger than she had anticipated.

She sensed that his level was just below a deity. One push, his power would become equal to a deity.

His darkish aura clashed with her own bluish aura in a spectacular display of power that transcended the physical realm.

The very air between them crackled with energy as two of the most formidable forces in the Midlands tested their strength against each other.

Veydrin and Eran moved back instinctively, the pressure of the competing auras forcing them to retreat or risk being crushed by the sheer magnitude of power being unleashed.

The tent that had served as their meeting place was long gone, its fabric flapping away by the hurricane of energy that surrounded the two powerhouses.

Nothing stood in their way as everything was swept away by the invisible storm of their clashing wills. Stone fragments scattered like leaves, and the very ground beneath their feet began to crack and splinter from the force of their confrontation.

Far from them, in the Naemarys camp, the siblings sensed the power surge immediately. Their heads turned as one toward the Kaezhlar camp side, expressions of alarm and recognition crossing their faces. Even at this distance, the magnitude of the clash was unmistakable—two titans were testing their strength against each other, and the very fabric of reality seemed to strain under the pressure.

The Nyphorites in the nearby areas fled in panic, their primitive minds recognizing the approach of something far more powerful than they could comprehend.

Ancient instincts screamed warnings as they scattered like leaves before a storm, seeking shelter from forces that could reshape the landscape itself.

It was truly a sight worthy of legend—two powerhouses of the Midlands clashing with just their auras, and everything around them was already rattling from the unleashed energy.

If they actually fought, rather than merely testing each other’s resolve, it would turn this entire region of the Dreadlands upside down, leaving scars that would last for centuries.

“You think you can come and wag your tongue in front of me?” Caelum’s voice carried the weight of mountains, each word resonating with barely contained fury.

“You’ve become more shameless, Raayani.”

Raayani’s laughter rang out like silver bells even as her blue aura intensified, meeting his challenge with unwavering resolve. “Well, you know I am not shy. And you shouldn’t speak to a lady like that.”

“You are no lady,” Caelum’s response was like the rumble of distant thunder. “You are a brazen temptress.”

The insult hung in the air between them, adding fuel to the fire of their clashing powers. Raayani’s eyes flashed with a dangerous light, her exotic beauty taking on an edge that spoke of barely contained violence.

The Blue Rose Matriarch had built her nation through a combination of seduction and strength, and she would not suffer such disrespect, even from one as powerful as Caelum.

Veydrin, seeing that their confrontation wasn’t going anywhere constructive, and recognizing the growing danger to everyone present, stepped forward despite the crushing pressure of their combined auras. His voice cut through the maelstrom of power with urgent authority.

“Caelum! Raayani!”

“Enough. We should talk this over.”

They weren’t listening to him or his words. Their auras continued to clash.

He yelled,”You should look around once.”

Caelum turned his head, and so did Raayani.

He gestured toward the men of the Kaezhlar clan and toward the women of the Blue Rose Seraglio, all of whom were cowering before the unleashed might of their leaders.

The pressure was too much to bear for ordinary mortals, even those trained in the arts of war. Some had fallen to their knees; others pressed themselves against whatever shelter they could find, all of them struggling simply to breathe in the face of such overwhelming power.

The prince’s words carried the weight of desperate necessity, a reminder that their personal conflict was endangering the very people they had sworn to protect. In their clash of wills and wounded pride, they had forgotten that not everyone possessed the strength to withstand the casual manifestation of their true power.

Caelum looked around; his men were all barely hanging. It was too much for them and for the women of the Blue Rose, too.

He sighed and retracted his aura. And Raayani also followed the same.

Caelum studied the woman before him, seeing past her exotic beauty to the calculating mind that had made her one of the most powerful figures in the civilized world. Her rejection years ago had stung her pride, but it had also taught her patience and the value of long-term planning.

“The boy’s choices remain his own,” Caelum said finally. “I will not force a marriage upon him, regardless of the political advantages it might bring.”

Raayani’s smile never wavered. “Of course not. But surely there is no harm in making introductions? In allowing young people to meet and discover whether they find each other… compatible?”

The suggestion carried layers of meaning that both understood perfectly. The Blue Rose Seraglio had built its reputation on the art of making powerful men believe that desire was their own idea, that choices made in passion were expressions of free will rather than careful manipulation.

As the negotiation continued deep in the heart of the Dreadlands, neither participant could have imagined that their discussion would set in motion events that would reshape not just Jolthar’s personal destiny but the very foundations of the realm itself.
