Capítulo 1023: Chapter 1023 Traveling With Style
After their meal, Zhane and Rafael brushed their teeth and rinsed with mouthwash, helping Hera do the same before they all settled in the living room for a bit of downtime. Rafael scrolled through the latest news updates, while Zhane reviewed Cherry’s patient charts alongside the report on the newly developed medicine from Dr. Zigheart.
He carefully examined the drug’s components, cross-referencing them with Cherry’s current needs.
Hera, meanwhile, focused intently on her online classes, earbuds in, listening to the lecture while taking notes with her uninjured arm. Seeing her so absorbed, Zhane and Rafael couldn’t help but glance at her from time to time.
Occasionally, Zhane would ruffle her hair absentmindedly while reading, and Rafael would reach over to massage her shoulder with one hand, still glued to his phone.
No matter how busy they were, they naturally gravitated toward her. Watching them, Hera realized something quietly profound: no man is ever too busy for the woman he loves.
If a man truly loves a woman, no matter how much work they have to juggle, they never forget about her. It could be something as simple as a quick text, like right now, even though Dave, Luke, and Xavier were all busy with their own tasks, they still made sure to update her, easing her mind and preventing her from overthinking. If they couldn’t type, they went the extra mile and sent voice messages instead.
Even Leo, despite his amnesia, found a way to reach out, asking about her condition and showing concern without being too obvious. And Zhane and Rafael, though caught up in their own work, sought small ways to stay close.
They would often touch her gently, in subtle gestures that silently said, “Don’t tire yourself out,” or “Are you okay?”, words unspoken, but understood.
Sometimes, words aren’t enough.
There are men who constantly say, “I care for you” or “I love you,” yet their actions never match their promises. What follows are endless excuses, like with Alexis, excuses piled on excuses, but no real change.
If Hera took a step back, he would push again and again, expecting her to sacrifice endlessly while questioning her love whenever she refused. Such men don’t truly know how to love, and staying with them without any change is just a waste of time.
Having experienced what it’s like to be genuinely pampered, trusted, and protected while being surrounded by real love and care, Hera could no longer compare these men to Alexis. The difference was like night and day, as vast as the distance across the galaxy. There was simply no comparison.
And because of their care, though it might be impossible to fully satisfy their sexual needs because there are so many of them, but other than that, she was treated like a queen in every other way, and she was able to indulge any desire without anyone daring to stand in her path.
And should anyone foolishly try, these men would be the first to charge forward and clear the way for her. Their dedication and love were beyond what words could capture.
In return, she found her own ways to show affection and gratitude. When Zhane ruffled her hair, she would press her cheeks to his knees like a docile cat. When Rafael massaged her shoulders, she reached out to rub his calves.
It became a mutual exchange, a silent understanding that they were valued just as they valued her; what they gave, she returned tenfold.
And because of all this, they had become so harmonious; perhaps this was how she managed to balance her relationships with all six of them. Although she couldn’t deny having a favorite among them, she was doing her best, and it was thanks to their understanding that it all worked. Hera felt genuinely happier.
“Hera, it’s about time. Should we get going?” Zhane reminded her, putting down the file he had been reading and gently fixing her hair.
“Oh? Is it that late already?” Hera replied with a playful smile.
“Um…” Zhane looked at her with that indulgent look on his face and clear love written all over his eyes.
“All right, then… we shall go,” Hera said, trying to stand. She nearly toppled over, forgetting about her injury, but Rafael caught her just in time, preventing her from landing on her butt.
“Little minx, you’re so clumsy…” Rafael teased, cradling Hera in his arms as he carried her to the wheelchair. Meanwhile, Zhane closed her notebook and MacBook Air, carefully putting her things and her tablet into their respective bags. He let out a soft chuckle at Rafael’s gentle handling of her.
As if on cue, Hannah and Amy, knowing that Hera and the others were about to leave, had already called the bodyguards to escort them. Some had even arranged for an extended Rolls-Royce waiting outside.
As Zhane and Rafael emerged from the Dragon Jade Building, Rafael gently pushed Hera’s wheelchair. The car door had already been opened for them, waiting patiently for their arrival.
“Young Miss, where to?” the guard asked Hera, stepping forward just as Rafael prepared to lean down and carry her inside.
“Let’s go pick up Ms. Cherry first, then we’ll meet the others at the venue,” Hera said with a smile. After all, she had promised Cherry’s brother that she would ensure Cherry’s safety, so there was no need for the Sullivans to assign a separate set of bodyguards for Cherry; Hera’s team was already the best choice.
To keep that promise, she needed to personally pick up Cherry, which was why they had chosen an extended Rolls-Royce.
Of course, they couldn’t have Cherry sit in the passenger seat beside the driver; the Sullivans might interpret that as Hera not being a good host or failing to properly care for her guest. The best solution, then, was for Cherry to sit with them in the back, safe, comfortable, and under Hera’s watchful eye.
Once inside the car, Hera sent a reminder text to everyone attending the concert with her, including Bry, who had been picked up earlier by another set of her bodyguards. They were to meet at the crossroads on Downtown Road, after which the group would travel together in a convoy to the venue. This way, Bry, the youngest among them, wouldn’t feel out of place among Hera’s friends.
In truth, Hera didn’t need to worry about Bry feeling awkward at all. That kid was so sociable that he would easily strike up a conversation with Athena and the others without hesitation.
Their car drove out of Green Dragon Manor and headed straight for the hospital. When they arrived, Cherry was already waiting outside, practically buzzing with excitement. She wore a floral sundress and white open-toe high heels, and even while seated in her wheelchair, her bright energy seemed to radiate around her.
The moment the car stopped and Hera caught sight of her, she couldn’t help but chuckle. From afar, she could feel Cherry’s excitement, and it made her happy too.
The Sullivans had also come out to see Cherry off, waiting at the hospital entrance for Hera’s arrival. When the Rolls-Royce finally stopped in front of them, they didn’t pay it much mind, assuming Hera might have arranged a larger van so that she and Cherry could travel in comfort.
That had indeed been the original plan, but along the way, they decided on an extended Rolls-Royce instead. Its plush leather seats allowed Cherry to sit comfortably and even elevate her position slightly, giving her the option to lie down a little during the journey.
This also allowed them to travel and arrive at the venue in style. With the buzz around Logan and Lucas’s scandal at its peak, and Hera coming to show her support for Logan, she would undoubtedly be at the top of every reporter’s list for interviews and coverage on this critical day.
Arriving in style was the best way to give Logan face, demonstrate her full support, and simultaneously put herself in the limelight, a move that could open doors for more projects. In short, Hera and Logan were helping each other rise together.
So when the Rolls-Royce stopped in front of the Sullivans, they continued looking ahead, expecting Hera’s car to arrive. It wasn’t until the bodyguard in the passenger seat stepped out and opened the back door that they finally noticed her: Hera seated inside the extended Rolls-Royce, with Zhane and Rafael lounging far back as if they were in a bar. Rafael held a wine glass, sipping champagne, while Zhane carefully poured tea for Hera.
The Sullivans were stunned and could hardly believe what they were seeing. That customized extended Rolls-Royce had cost well over a hundred million dollars. For Hera to be sitting inside it meant that one of the three of them possessed enough wealth to afford such a luxury, as no such car could be rented elsewhere.
Before they could even react, Cherry was already cooing and cheering at the thought of riding in such an incredible car. After all, while they were wealthy and owned Rolls-Royces of their own, this customized model far surpassed anything they had; it was far more expensive than they could ever afford.
