Capítulo 1022: Chapter 1022 Eat Together

Yet there was an underlying edge to his appearance: a sleeve garter clung to his bicep, hinting at the strong muscles beneath the suit. His well-built frame made anyone who looked at him start imagining what lay beneath the sharp, tailored exterior.

The baby-blue vest of Zhane’s three-piece suit accentuated his lean, well-defined waist, while the tailored cut of his pants emphasized his long, strong legs. He wasn’t overly muscular, but every step hinted at the muscle and power beneath that refined exterior.

Altogether, he looked like a Greek god in a three-piece suit, the very embodiment of Prince Charming brought to life.

Hera swallowed hard, feeling dangerously close to drooling as she stared at the two breathtaking men before her.

‘Damn, I really lucked out, didn’t I?’ she thought, her eyes shamelessly drinking in their perfection.

Seeing her reaction, both Rafael and Zhane chuckled in satisfaction. Clearly, dressing up this morning had paid off; they’d managed to completely captivate Hera all over again.

They could rest assured that Hera wouldn’t get tired of them, at least, not anytime soon. Zhane had chosen his outfit carefully: not too formal, but just enough to subtly emphasize his best features.

Rafael, on the other hand, dressed to enhance his commanding aura and make the most of his striking looks and build.

This way, neither of them appeared too eager to impress Hera, yet they still managed to look effortlessly captivating. After all, if they seemed too obvious, they risked making Hera grow weary of their little games.

But really, how could they not scheme? With so many men vying for her attention, it was only natural for them to try and secure a special place in her heart, ensuring she wouldn’t easily forget them when she was with the others or when they got too busy.

“Are you ready?” Rafael asked, leaning closer to Hera. His suave cologne drifted around her, a scent that suited him perfectly, warm, confident, and dangerously alluring. Hera’s mind felt like it was swimming as she unconsciously inhaled a little deeper.

Noticing her reaction, Rafael smirked triumphantly before effortlessly lifting her into his arms. Zhane, meanwhile, folded the wheelchair with practiced ease and carried it in one hand as he walked beside them.

Hera’s head rested near his shoulder, and soon she caught a whiff of Zhane’s clean, refreshing scent, something like crisp bamboo after rain. She couldn’t help but take another breath, savoring the contrast.

The two fragrances, Rafael’s deep and seductive, Zhane’s cool and invigorating, clashed yet blended in a way that made her senses tingle. Hera bit her lower lip, trying to hide the dizzying warmth spreading through her, but how could Rafael and Zhane, who had planned this little sensory trap all along, not notice her reaction?

The moment they noticed Hera’s conflicted expression, both Rafael and Zhane allowed the faintest smirk to curve their lips before quickly hiding it. Inside, though, they were pleased; they’d clearly made the right choice.

Not only had they managed to captivate Hera, but their carefully chosen looks would also serve another purpose: deterrence.

Anyone thinking of getting close to Hera would first have to consider whether they could even stand toe-to-toe with Rafael and Zhane, and whether they were anywhere near as handsome. If not, well, they’d better know when to take a good look in the mirror and give up early.

This way, they could subtly keep the bees and butterflies from hovering too close to Hera. And as for her fans, seeing the three of them together would only spark one universal thought: ‘They look perfect together.’

After all, who would ever want to hear that the woman they love looks good with someone else?

Hera, completely unaware of the depth of the two men’s little schemes, was lost in her own thoughts, most of which were anything but innocent. The more she thought about Rafael and Zhane, the more flustered she became, her heart racing at the fear that they might notice just how unholy her thoughts had turned.

The two men, who had long since noticed Hera’s flustered state, pretended not to. They didn’t want to embarrass her, but inside, they were both quietly pleased and reassured. With confident steps, they made their way down the stairs, where Hannah and Amy were already waiting, having prepared a hearty late breakfast that could easily double as an early lunch — brunch, depending on Hera’s mood.

Hannah had gone all out, preparing a little bit of everything. The highlight was a steaming bowl of shrimp wonton soup made with rich wild chicken stock, infused with a mix of herbs that perfectly balanced the chicken’s savory depth and the shrimp’s delicate aroma. The mouthwatering scent filled the air, instantly awakening Hera’s appetite.

The moment Rafael set Hera down at the dining table, the rich aroma of the wonton soup immediately caught her attention. All other thoughts vanished as her stomach gave a low, unmistakable growl of hunger. Only then did she realize just how famished she was.

Before she could even say a word, Zhane, who had just set her wheelchair aside, was already at the sink washing his hands. He returned a moment later as Rafael took his turn. Amy handed Zhane a clean hand towel, and once he’d dried his hands, he reached for the pot of wonton soup. Carefully, he ladled a steaming bowl and set it in front of Hera.

Hera looked up at him with a soft, grateful smile, her eyes gleaming with warmth. Zhane smiled back faintly as he settled beside her, ready to help her eat.

“Zhane, I can eat on my own now. You should eat too…” Hera said softly, wanting to show she could manage by herself. She always felt a little bad whenever they had to feed her, putting their own meals aside until she was finished.

Now that she was comfortable using her other hand to eat, she felt there was no need for anyone to feed her anymore. They deserved to enjoy their food too.

But Zhane simply shook his head and said softly, “If you think you’re being a burden, then don’t. I’m not doing this because I see you as a responsibility, Hera. I’m doing it because I want to.”

“I enjoy watching you eat and seeing you happy; it makes me feel content, too. When you enjoy your food, it stirs my own appetite. So, could you just humor me a little?”

Zhane’s gentle voice was soothing, yet every word carried a quiet sincerity that made Hera’s heart tremble. A warmth bloomed in her chest, and she couldn’t help but feel happy. Maybe that was why she was falling deeper for these men; they treated her so well, like she was the center of their world. It was both flattering and heartwarming.

So this time, Hera stopped refusing his help. She simply smiled sweetly and accepted the spoon he brought to her lips, taking a sip of the savory shrimp wonton soup.

“Hmm…” The soup was warm and comforting, soothing her from the inside out. Now she didn’t have to worry about it going cold, so Zhane didn’t need to rush his own meal.

Hannah had placed a small stove under the earthen pot of shrimp wonton soup. Because Hannah had seen it many times, that the men around Hera often got so engrossed watching her eat that they forgot their own food. By the time they started, the dishes were already cold, and eating cold food wasn’t good for the stomach.

As an elite chef, Hannah naturally found a solution. She had Amy buy a small warming stove to keep the dishes hot until the meal was over. At the same time, she carefully controlled the heat to ensure the food wouldn’t overcook, knowing that prolonged heat could alter the flavor and texture.

And so, Hera simply enjoyed her food. Pushing Zhane to eat would only make him feel dissatisfied, so instead, she cooed sweetly, “Then don’t just feed me, while I chew and swallow, you should put some food in your mouth too.”

Her eyes crinkled and shone like stars, and Zhane couldn’t help but nod, doing exactly as she said. After feeding Hera a shrimp wonton and watching her savor the flavor, he took a bite himself, chewing slowly to show her that he, too, was eating.

It amused him greatly, like he was coaxing a child, but surprisingly, it made his own meal more enjoyable, adding a quiet, shared warmth to the simple act of eating together.

Then Rafael joined in. Having heard everything, he began feeding Hera some of the stir-fried asparagus. While she chewed, he took bites of the same food he gave her, savoring the flavor alongside her, as if sharing the same taste brought them closer.

The sight of the three of them doing this quietly amused the onlookers, Amy and Hannah, who shook their heads with a smile. Though the men could be childish at times, the way they interacted revealed genuine care and affection. In this light, their little display of playfulness looked endearing rather than exasperating.
