After setting everything up, which surprisingly didn’t take that much time, I left chonk on guard and returned here. Doing some last minute grooming to my attire, I realised something. I felt slightly nervous.

The nerves were not bad, in fact they were brought by excitement about the whole situation. Perhaps it was because it was something I had never expected to happen.

The door I just knocked on slowly opened and as usual, Gabrielle opened the door, smiling upon seeing me. “Oh, Apollo, you look very handsome. Have you done something different?”

I shook my head. “No, but thank you for the compliment, you look radiant yourself this evening.” I said politely, as it was actually true.

Gabrielle then giggled and began playing with her hair as she looked at me. “Do you really think so? Thank you.”

I liked Gabrielle, she had a quirky personality and always seemed happy to see me despite the odd past of her previous job. I’d usually at this point ask if she wanted a hug as they were rather addictive, but tonight was different.

“So, is Hailey ready for our date?” As I asked this, Gabrielle stopped giggling and looked into the room behind her.

“Yeah, she is ready, but as her guardian, I want no funny business and back before ten, understood?” Gabrielle was showing me a stern look, but I couldn’t help finding it kind of adorable as she clearly could not follow up actually being stern, but I humoured her.

“Ok, I understand. Don’t worry, I have no nefarious intentions tonight, I am simply doing what I think is a nice date that the both of us will enjoy.”

Gabrielle smiled at her son, most would just say that and then do something behind the guardians back, but she knew her son more than he knew. Such a good boy… He deserved mommy’s love, not the ungrateful brats… But she needed to bide her time.

Gabrielle then realised Apollo was holding a little bag that smelled divine. To distract herself and prevent premature pouncing, she asked. “Millie’s again? You seem to really like that place, huh Apollo?”

My smile then turned sweet. “Yes, well despite the fact the cookies are amazing, the fact that my biological grandmother makes them only adds to the enjoyment. “Gabrielle then did a visual double take at what I just said.

“What? Your Grandmother?” Gabrielle became immediately confused. From what she remembered, Hunter’s parents were both dead so that made no sense. Valerica’s parents were also indisposed and she would know so if they were present on this moon. So how did Millie fit into the equation?

I nodded my head. “Yes, it was crazy, I asked Millie to share her blood with me for my dispensation and when I tested it, it turned out she was my grandma, apparently she gave up her daughter years ago because of her condition and- Gabrielle?”

Gabrielle then walked past me and down the corridor without a word. I watched her for a moment. She didn’t look angry or anything, but I couldn’t help thinking. ‘Did I say something wrong?’

I decided to do some damage control tomorrow just in case, but tonight wasn’t about her. With the door ajar, I made my way inside. The office was bare, but I could hear moving around in the adjoining room connected to the office.

I decided to take a seat and wait and just as I sat down, I heard. ” Gabby, is this jumper too slutty or should I change into something with less exposed cleava-Apollo!”

Hailey entered the room wearing grey jeans with a grey block heeled boot, a simple, yet elegantly embroidered belt and the subject I assumed to be ‘slutty’, was a simple white jumper with… A fair amount of cleavage. Valerica walked around constantly with more exposed.

I also couldn’t help notice that Hailey was also wearing a small amount of makeup, simply enhancing her natural beauty.

I stood up and walked towards her. As I got closer to her, Hailey began to blush and look away. Once in front of her, I admired her to the fullest before saying. “No, I don’t think it’s slutty. I think you are showing a classy amount, though that being said, with my height, I am getting a better view than someone shorter.”

Hailey smiled at my honesty and responded in kind. “Well, I wanted you to look, but I didn’t want to make it too obvious… But other than my boobs, do I look ok? You said casual, but I barely have any clothes as is. I am too used to just wearing my uniforms.”

I gave Hailey another look over and replied. “You look beautiful.”

Hailey let out another pretty smile before looking around the room and grew confused. “Hey, where is Gabrielle? She made a whole ordeal about needing to give us ‘the talk’ and I just gave up arguing with her.”

“I don’t know, she just walked off. But that’s not important, are you ready for our date?” I said, reaching out my hand towards her.

Hailey resisted the urge to begin shaking with excitement. She was so excited. But she had to stay calm. She couldn’t afford to weird him out yet, that was later on after they had become intimate. There was less chance of him running away after that. She then took a jittery breath and took her boyfriend’s hand and nodded. “Of course I am.”

“Apollo, where are you taking me? These boots are not made for jungle terrain.” Hailey asked me, using my arm as support as we walked.

We were off just out of campus grounds. The jungle was sparse here, but she had a point. I simply chuckled. “Don’t worry, we are nearly there. Two minutes.”

Hailey giggled. “Better be, just because you are hot doesn’t make it so you can have me walking in these heels without consequences.”

Two minutes later I suddenly sprang ahead, pushing through some shrubbery, leaving Hailey behind.

“Apollo!” Hailey suddenly yelled in surprise and followed behind. The jungle had just gotten a bit too dense and he does this? Feeling the urge to scold the man for leaving her so suddenly, she suddenly choked on that thought as she pushed back the same shrubbery Apollo just pushed aside.

What lay beyond was a small clearing, surrounded by fairy lights in the trees. With the sun just beginning to set on the horizon It looked magical… In the centre of the clearing was a large blanket with a basket atop it.

Beside the blanket, was an Apollo with open arms and behind him a large blue creature by the name of Sapphire. “Surprise!”

Hailey entered the clearing and looked around in awe. Little was done, but…

“Look, I know it’s not much, but I was thinking to myself. What could I do to make a first date special? I mean, we are both filthy rich, buying presents or doing something expensive seems, ironically, kind of worthless. Bland. So that got me thinking, what would be a nice meaningful first date? A picnic at sunset!”

Hailey’s face lost all emotion as she stared at me and I felt a chill that sheared through my Thermokinesis, taking me by complete surprise. ‘Ah man, did I cock up?’ I couldn’t help thinking as she slowly walked towards me.

Rubbing the back of my head, I spoke again. “Sorry, if this wasn’t enough. I’m not that good at dating, I basically improvised. If you don’t like it we can-”

Suddenly, two steps of solid ice sprouted out from the ground next to me. I looked at the steps confused, as I felt no Psionics within the ice, as Hailey continued to approach. As she placed her feet upon the steps, climbing them, I turned back to her and before I could react.

*Mwah!*

Hailey’s lips pressed firmly against mine. We engaged and disengaged a couple of times before she pulled away and looked me in the eyes. As she did so, the cold in the surroundings disappeared.

I couldn’t help getting fixated at how soft her beautiful grey eyes were looking into my own.

“It’s perfect.”

Hearing those words, I couldn’t help letting out a massive smile. “Really? You aren’t just saying that to make me feel better?” Hailey began to wipe the lipstick she planted off my lips after I asked that as she replied.

“Are you kidding me? Apollo, this is literally perfect. You are right, I have more money than I can feasibly spend. But I could never buy this… Apollo, thank you.” Hailey then hugged me, to which I then hugged back.

We stayed like that for a minute before the side of my face was absolutely slobbered by a massive tongue.

Breaking the atmosphere, Chonky girl was looking at me and proceeded to.

“Moo!”

Pulling away from the hug I replied to her. “Huh?”

“Moo.”

“No, I told you I just had you here as a deterrent to the local wildlife. If we got here and the food was tampered with-

“-Moo.”

“What? Aww, you want to explore?”

“Moo.”

“Of course you can sweetie, just don’t wander too far.”

“Moo!”

She then turned away from me and to Hailey.

“Moo.” She expressed with much gusto before turning to leave and promptly returning to her former natural habitat.

Once she left, Hailey turned to me. “What did Sapphire say to me just now?”

I turned from where I could feel my link to Sapphire and turned to Hailey confused.

“What? Oh right, you can’t speak chonk. She was actually being sweet. What she said was…”
