Capítulo 649: Sharing is Caring

A silence overcame the surroundings as I looked towards the three who had made their way over. Jack was looking at me with rage, but considering he was in Hecate’s class, he must have been smart enough to know not to fuck around and find out.

The tension was hastily broken as I saw someone appear and my heart became full. “There is the love of my life! What do you have for me?” I jested, prompting the bar tender to laugh.

“All your favourites darlin’. Steak, burgers, pork sausage, fried chicken and your salad. I also had the chefs make a specialty item. I forgot the name of the animal, but its exotic. I had that fried as well. Then of course here is your salad and I have left the sundae in the kitchen, you give me a holler when you want that. After she put everything down and I began to rub my hands together in delight. She then turned to the onlookers and frowned.

“Are you planning on causing trouble in my bar?”

“No Mary!” Hamish yelled, pushing Vera in front of him despite being over a foot taller than her. The others didn’t say anything, but I added on.

“Oh, no. These are just my classmates, nothing to worry about. They were just saying hello and are leaving to sit by themselves now, aren’t you?”

Mary then looked at me then back and the group and smiled politely. “Very well, come to the bar if you need anything. As for you darlin’ enjoy your meal.” Once Mary left, Jack then turned to Circe and asked.

“So, are you coming with us or what?”

Circe then looked at all the food on the table and then at me and asked. “Are you expecting company, Apollo?” I shook my head in confusion, wondering why she would think of such a thing as I picked up a fry and bit into it.

“No, I was just planning on having a solo meal, but you are free to join me. I enjoy good company during a meal.” I said honestly, prompting Circe to smile at me before turning back to Jack.

“I am going to stay here. You three enjoy the rest of your night.” She said before turning back to me, ignoring the scorned look on Jack’s face, who in turn then looked back at me and pointed

“This isn’t over.”

After taking a bite of my chicken, I looked at the man. “Word of warning. I am happy to get expelled through my actions, I have other options outside this place. Take that warning and stop testing my patience with this childish act of yours.”

I then happily went back to my food as the man just stood there, slack jawed for a moment before muttering. “Whatever.” And walking away.

Once they were gone, Circe let out a loud sigh of relief before looking at me. “Thank you for that. And sorry for the drama, I bet you didn’t want that before your meal.”

I waved her off. “Stop apologising. You aren’t responsible for his mood, or are you? Is he your boyfriend or something? He had a possessive look in his eye.” I said, knowing fully well what a possessive partner looks like…

Circe scoffed. “He wishes. Literally. He has been chasing at my heels for the last four years. He is not my type. To be honest no one is. I like my Psionics and for now that is all I want. He just doesn’t get it and gets mad whenever he sees me talking to another man.”

“I see. Sorry he is like that. Some guys just can’t take the hint. By the way, I can see you eyeing the wings, help yourself.” I said, causing Circe to flinch at being caught.

“Are you sure? Oh!” She jumped in surprise as I threw a wing to her that she caught with ease.

“Help yourself. I enjoy sharing food with friends.”

Circe was an interesting individual. I found her insights in Psionics very eye opening. Her powers too were fascinating. Dangerous, but fascinating.

After finishing all the food, I quickly had the sundae brought over and the two of us were eating it together. “So your Sapphire cat used a catalyst for her creation? That’s how you knew to suggest using one in our summoning? That is fascinating. If she is as big as you say she is, that must have taken an absurd amount of Psionics, how did you manage to collect so much without a direct tap to raw Psionics?”

I smiled. “I have a teacher outside of the college. She is powerful. She helped. Sapphire might be a unique power of mine, but it was her abundance of energy and a secret of mine that created her.”

Circe’s eyes went wide. “Wow… You are very lucky then, your teacher sounds very strong.” Her statement caused me to smile with pride. My Jewel was stronger than strong. I simply nodded my head and replied.

“Very.” I then continued. “Hey, can I ask you something?” Circe nodded her head. I then leant in and whispered. “Staying on topic, I just have to ask about this summoning thing. Do you really think it’s a good idea trusting a Psionic entity in someone else’s head? You don’t know what you might be summoning, have you considered they are lying and trying to do something nefarious?”

My question and concern might have been a bit hypocritical considering I had a Psionic concept inside my Mindspace, but still…

Circe quickly replied after swallowing her ice cream. “Fair point. To you I guess Freddie would look unstable. He did attack you after all. Trust me, that is a very rare occurrence. Also, Hecate has done her due diligence and deemed it safe. The creature is called a Veritae. They aren’t powerful, and aren’t really all that smart, but are basically in simple terms, Psionic parrots. They absorb knowledge and then spread them through dreams or in Freddie’s case. Symbiotic link and dreams, spread it out. It’s not capable of plotting or anything, it is simply giving us instructions from when it learnt of something in its existence.”

I absorbed everything Circe said, but I still had doubts. I was about to bring up how they knew what they were building was beneficial and not some sort of trap it had learnt, but I was distracted by.

“Apollo! There you are! Have you been avoiding me bestie? Oh! Who is this? A new fuck buddy? Hi I am Lena Ooh, ice cream! Lemme taste!” Lena then took my spoon from my hand and took a scoop from the sundae while Circe looked on mortified.

“A- a what?” She couldn’t believe her ears as the crass ginger inhaled what was left of the Sundae.

I smiled at the chaotic ball called Lena and filled her in. “Lena, this is Circe. A new friend of mine. Circe, this is Lena. My-

“-Bestest friend on the whole campus, so keep your mitts to yourself lady!” Lena said, jumping on my lap and giving me a cuddle. She then stood up quickly, grabbed a chair flipped it around and saddled it, resting her arms on the backrest as she stared intensely at Circe.

“So, are you strong? Do you think you could take me in a fight? Do you think you could take Apollo? What are your powers? Are you a fire fucker as well?” Before Circe could even get her words out due to her shock at the… intense woman, Lena seemingly lost interest before turning back to Apollo.

“Oh Apollo! Are you busy? I saw you like the blazing Pyrokinetic you are through the window as I was walking past and thought I would invite you to a get together.”

“What sort of gathering? I might have an hour or two, but I need to get something done tonight.” At my questioning, Lena’s red eyes went wide with delight.

“So you are free? YES! Come on, come on, let’s go now. The others are going to freak when they see you. Will show them up for calling me weird when I come in with my bestie looking the way you do. Come on! Come on! Come on!” She then began tugging with all her strength on my arm, but I ignored her attempts for a moment and turned to Circe.

“I better go with her, I have a feeling she won’t calm down until I do.” I said, prompting Circe to smile and nod her head in agreement.

“Of course, I have matters to attend to anyway, Apollo. It was a pleasure getting to know you and thank you. Lena… Nice to meet you as well.”

“Yeah, yeah! You can’t come. Fire fuckers only! Those are the rules.” Apollo, come on! We have got to go!”

I smiled and stood up. “Take care Circe, see you in next week’s class.” I then allowed Lena to begin pulling me away to the exit. I waved to Mary behind the bar who smiled and gave me a wink back.

Once Lena and I were outside her excitement didn’t die down as she continued to drag me away, prompting me to ask. “Slow down, Lena. Where are you taking me?”

She then looked back at me and smiled cheerfully and replied. “I told you. A gathering! Come on or we are going to be late!”
