Chapter 588: Gavara

After entering my room, I went to my wardrobe and retrieved the communication crystal Aeletha helped me set up. Sitting on my bed, I found the communication number for Kathrine and then twisted the crystal to activate it.

I held the device out in front of me as this crystal had a holo-screen or something like that and I waited for twenty seconds before I was assaulted by a great deal of noise on Kathrine’s end followed by a “KIHAAAAY! Apollo! You called! I’m so happy I could die!”

Subverting my expectations, it was not actually Kathrine who picked up the communicator, but actually. “Talia? Why do you have Kathrine’s communicator? Where is Kat? And what is all that noise?”

I got no sensical reply as Talia was shaking the thing round in excitement, but I was pretty sure I heard her yell ‘ One second, let me go outside!’ I waited a couple minutes as Talia made her way through the busy place. The music that was playing was deafening to me on this side of the communicator with all the banging, which left me baffled how they were coping.

Eventually the music died down and Talia emerged on the screen once more, A beautiful city backdrop behind her that did not look like Ecumenopolis 4 in the slightest. It looked a lot… Simpler? Older. Similar to how the royal palace looked on Euc 1, but all everywhere.

“Apollo! How is the College? Did all the other Sepiida there offer to fuck you already? I bet they did! Your genes are scary orgasm fuel just being in proximity! Have you learnt anything yet? Or are you already teaching people how to be better as you are better than anyone else? Oh! How is Valerica? Kathrine said she might be annoying and to just kick her in the pussy if she gets too much! Oh! What about-”

“-Talia.” I interjected and the Sepiida instantly replied. “Yes husband?”

“Where is Kathrine? Where are you for that matter? Valerica told me Kathrine has been trying to get in touch with me, but it’s not working?”

Talia inwardly giggled at the fact Apollo did not correct her calling him husband and replied. “Oh yeah. She kept having those narcoleptic episodes on the way here, she kept on going to sleep to try and talk with you. Bizarre. It clearly didn’t work which shocked me. Boss wife is like the smartest woman I know. So the fact it wasn’t working meant that something must have gone wrong or something.”

“Talia.”

“Yes baby? Oh right. Yeah. We are out of the core worlds right now. Don’t know the planet name, sounds foreign. Clearly locally named and not core world named. It sounds something like ‘Flabanabba’ Anyway like I was saying. So, Kathrine asked me to come here with her and of course I accepted. OH! Don’t worry! Sophia said it was ok. I was told to my face that Kathrine is to kill me if I blab and as much as she and I are best friends, I totally believe that Kathrine would do that… Not like I would blab anyway! -“Yes darling? Oh right! Hehe. Sorry. Kathrine is here. She just went to tinkle about five seconds before you called. She has had her hand glued inside of her purse all day, most likely holding this crystal as apparently she told Valerica yesterday she has been trying to do the narcolepsy thing and that Valerica would tell you. Did she? Is that why you are calling now? Do you want me to go and get her? Stay here. I will go and find her now!”

Talia then put down and left the incredibly valuable, heavily encrypted communication crystal on the balcony guard rail and ran away. I watched as she placed it down and I fell. I saw the sky and then the view of the city again before seeing a great big ravine of blackness below on the other side of the guard rail.

The slightest gust of wind and I’d wager I wouldn’t be speaking to Kathrine on the communicator ever.

A few moments later I heard a lovely voice, not so lovingly scream out. “You absolute dimwit! Leaving it there!” Followed by the sound of high heels clacking hastily toward the communicator. As she picked it up, I was momentarily stunned by the raw beauty of Kathrine.

She looked exactly the same as always face wise, but she had these patterns drawn all over her face that looked like they were drawn with blood. The contrast between something that looked primitive next to that dress that showed off her feminine features quite brazenly. I couldn’t help asking. “Kat? Why do you have… Tribal runes on your face? Also, hello. You look gorgeous.”

Kathrine put her hand to her face before going “Oh! Hahaha! Right. Yes. Hello, my love. These are Fabbarintha runes. I am on a political mission right now. The peoples of this world are for the most part, primitive. They have their own culture and language that is different to the majority of Spartari. We leave them this way because Fabbarinth produce some of the best, non phalanx, warriors in the entire empire. We are attending a star warrior celebration right now. In Seonah, the only city on the planet that is up to Spartari standards. The runes are signs of honour, all the warriors choose a champion they wish to fight for in a gladiator fight to the death as a mark of honour and ask for our blessing to become star warriors afterwards by painting the runes on my face and arms with their fallen opponents blood.”

Kathrine then lifted one of her arms up and the whole thing was covered in runes. “I have been dubbed ‘Cchhllhh.’ No that’s not..’ Crellaaa.’ Ugh. The language is backwards, but I have been told by translation I am basically unmatched in my beauty and many men and women have pledged me as their champion today. Hence all the runes.”

I smiled and complimented. “Well they aren’t wrong about that, sexy.” I said with a wink. “Now, Valerica said that you wanted to get in touch with me? Is it to do with the reason you are there?”

Kathrine shook her head. “No… Oh actually yes! I suppose it is. It’s nothing big darling, but with you being my husband to be and my master. You should know. This past year has been rather slow politically. The only major events, apart from our love blossoming of course, have been that little war we started and Queen Elaine’s birthday. I have been taking things quite lax compared to what the usual is. That being said, since my divorce is now fully official, I have to pick up some of the slack on the Hyllus business side of things and with mummy there with you, I am going to be really busy. I have about eighty events I need to attend in the next four months combined so, yeah. Busy. I just wanted you to know because we are partners and I might not make it back if you decide to take a hiatus from the college on your birthday like you planned. I will still try and enter our Mindspace paradise every chance I get though for my dose of sleep sex though you can count on that. No, I will be needing that. “-Kathrine, honey. There is a very large woman with glowing eyes and tattoos painted all over her body with very little on standing behind you.” I said, casually, preventing her from carrying on with what she was just saying.

Kathrine hastily turned around and screamed, but in delight and hugged the large woman before turning back to me. “Apollo, this is Gavara, Queen shaman of the, let me say it slow, hehe. Hurursa quontaya.” She then turned to me and said hastily. “Jungle spears is the rough translation.”

The woman simply chuckled while nodding her head prompting Kathrine to yell. “Did I do it right! Hahaha!” She got side-tracked for a moment before returning to me. “Yes, anyway, Apollo, Gavara.”

I waved at the half naked woman as Kathrine continued to speak to her. “Gavara, Apollo.” She pointed to me then her heart. “My Baal.” Prompting Gavara to look at the screen, her glowing green eyes clearly surprised by what Kathrine had just said. “Baal? Nagira!” She said, closing her hands together. I wasn’t sure how I knew, but she clearly just called me skinny.

“Apollo esh… Gabbara. Esh muy Aba. Killer of many. Very strong.” She switched back to Spartari at the end, catching me off guard. Before I could ask why I was being outed as a killer, Kathrine was pushed aside and Gavara picked up the communicator. Her glowing green eyes, clearly Brimming with Psionics unlike any I have ever seen, looked directly at me and spoke in very broken Spartari mixed with her own language.

“You. Aba? Strong? Warrior? You Come. Fight. One more wife. Gavara nashina Semey? uuh Maybe? Yes Kovhka warrior?”

The other languge. The clues are there for you to pick up. if you want to understand exactly what was said. I’ve not left you entirely in the dark. Also don’t look it up. While its based on aramaic, I have butchered the language for my own benefit lol. And yes. Future plot point. 😀
