Chapter 541: Data Breach

“L-Lady Seer, we did not expect your arrival, should we set up a media announcement?” A female Akrokra paced forward with her staff in hand. The Akrokra were a bipedal species of avian descent With two taloned legs, two arms with claws and a separate set of wings that were mostly inept at flight, but could be used to glide. They were three feet tall on average and were from a caste society.

“No need Caquee, I am here on a personal errand today, no need to feed the rats.” Aeletha simply stated, causing Caquee to make a clicking noise in her throat that symbolised a soft chuckle of understanding.

Caquee then walked, her wings wrapped around her shoulders like a cape, her Talons making a rhythmic tapping on the floor below Aeletha watched the Akrokra, listening to the way her feathers rustled together.

“Are you having a bad molt? Your feathers are making an uncomfortable sound.” She asked as Caquee arrived atop her perch. The Akrokra proceeded to open her wings to show a shaggy appearance.

“Yes, it’s the long summer we are having here on Calnivis. It’s messing with my natural molt. I have ordered some products for my bath, however, I shall be all better in a few weeks…” Caquee suddenly realised she was talking about her appearance to the blind Seer before her and brought a claw to her beak nervously.

“Sorry. So what can I do for you today, my Seer? Have you had a vision of another lost species?” Caquee asked, prompting Aeletha to shake her head before replying. “Nothing so morbid today, thankfully. I am here to dredge up the past. I need the files on a species named the Sepuudu.”

Caquee began typing away on her Clicky board. She needed textile stimulation to type and was useless with data pad screens as she always breaks them with her sharp claws. Aeletha smiled as she listened to the noise. Technology had gotten a lot quieter in the last hundred millenia or so. She enjoyed older tech like this. It reminded her of simpler days.

Aeletha then suddenly frowned, followed by Caquee clicking in confusion.

“This shouldn’t be possible./ This isn’t right.” The duo said simultaneously.

Caquee then followed up while the Seer seemed deep in thought. “It shows here that the data related to the Sepuudu was scrubbed a decade ago. How bizarre…”

As the Akrokra began typing away again, Aeletha fell into thought. ‘This is strange… My foresight is being rendered out completely. Is this the doing of another with foresight? But why? Why would someone commit such an oddly specific crime as wiping out the information on the Sepuudu?’

“Caquee, can you check if any other species’ information has been wiped clean?” She asked, knowing the bird was already doing so. “Yes, my Seer. Checking now. Lets-ah. There are four other species that got wiped from the data all a decade ago… It’s strange my predecessor did not know about this.”

Aeletha frowned. This place was a sanctuary of valuable data, a security breach of this size was a problem. What was her paying off her simple life debt had just turned into a mole hunt. ‘Did Apollo know about this? Sending me here to find this flaw in our defences?’ She dismissed the idea as soon as she thought of it. It didn’t make sense.

Unless Apollo had some sort of Psionic luck amplification, there was no way he could ever have known his impromptu decision to ask her of this favour would spell out this way. “Caquee, give me the list of names of all those whose files were deleted alongside their planet of origin. I will personally get to the bottom of this and I will send along some Psi-techs to help bolster this place’s defences within the day to prevent this from happening again.”

“Yes, My Seer. I will have the list sent to your data pad within moments.” Aeletha nodded her head hearing this and then turned and left. She had a serious data breach on her hands and this needed resolving instantly.

As she arrived outside, Rekosh was waiting for her. “My Seer, I-” “-Rekosh, I am about to perform a ritual, I am using my amulet. bring the ship back to Tellorix and do not disturb me when you arrive tomorrow.”

Aeletha did not wait for Rekosh’s rushed reply as a light enveloped her and she was already gone.

…

Her eyes opened groggily. Her entire body felt wrong. She went to communicate with her sisters to find it was not possible. “Hey, you. You are finally awake!” She heard the dirty language of tongue flicking translated through her linguistic modification to her temporal lobe.

In the corner of the room, sat on a stool was the female at the bar who pulled that weapon that completely immobilised her. “Did you really think after breaching your flimsy hivemind that we would not understand how your species operates now? How you would come and when?”

The purple haired female walked over, showing great dexterity as she was fiddling with a knife between her fingers as she did so. She began to struggle, only to realise she was in chains stronger than she could break out of.

The minor distraction of resistance forced her to miss the purple haired female’s movements and she was now directly in front of her. Knife to her throat, her face up against her faceplate. “Hey! Now that is not nice! We haven’t even begun to play together yet. Why are you trying to run away? Don’t you want to be my friend?”

Tears began running down the face of the female before her. However, as abruptly as they came they disappeared as she felt half an inch of the knife breach her side. She made no sound. She wouldn’t give her keeper the satisfaction of her screams.

Her keeper’s eyes then suddenly went wide as its mouth elongated at its sides, a sign of delight. “Oh, not a peep? Oh baby, you are making me wet right now. Do you think you will be able to stay silent until I cum? Oh and don’t take it personal if I’m thinking about someone else during, it’s the only way I can finish.” Her keeper said all cutesy before dismounting her body and standing up.

She watched as the human began pacing back and forth, watching her for a few moments before she spoke. “You see. You fucked up. You thought you were dealing with humans with your little sneaky sneaks… But we aren’t exactly human in these neck of the woods. Do you really think humans are capable of breaching your hive? I mean you are fuck ups, but they are just in a class of their own… Sorry I digress, where were we? Oh right!”

Her keeper then moved forward again, sitting atop her legs, wrapping her own around the back of her torso, very intimately. “So, here is how it’s going to go. I cannot kill you. I have been ordered that directly by my boss lady. Buuuut~ And here is where it gets fun, I can torture you until the edge of death, cut away at pieces of you, let it heal, then do it all over again. Or, and this is where it’s less fun, You can tell us exactly why you want the Sepiida and why you came for her now after we punched you in the brain. Sure, we already know about the suppression of Psionics, the gay switch, her inherited memories yada yada and that you do that to keep you all safe. But we want details, we are meticulous like that.

She said nothing, she simply stared at her keeper with a determined hatred. Another smile emerged on her keeper’s face, before her blood went cold for the first time as she leaned in and kissed her with a deep intimacy on the forehead.

Her keeper then placed her forehead against hers and spoke. “I want to thank you for this opportunity. You see, until a few months ago, I had only ever killed humans. Well, some Sepiidans too, but they don’t count. I digress. Something happened, and it allowed me to kill. Whoo! A fuck ton of aliens and now I have the taste for it. Sure, I wont be killing you, but oh boy will hurting you do the fucking job and give me that nut I have been craving.”

Her keeper then reached for her mouth plate and began inspecting it curiously. “You know, you are the first one to wake up among your cohorts and this little marvel of genetics has me curious. I think I will carve it out to understand it better. You aren’t talking anyway so you won’t need it? Right?

Her eyes began to water as she felt the blade cut her flesh. She held on, even as the blade tore through her flesh. She held on. As her keeper began humming creepily, she held on, the pain worse than anything she had ever endured. She held on…

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!”

…

Keyla breathed out in relief. “Ah, finally, I was beginning to think you didn’t like me. Now, as lovely as your screams are. I was in the middle of my song and now I have to start again.

“♩ Oh little butcher had a farm, Keyla was her name-O. ♩”
