Capítulo 1514: Dana’s New Spear

Karl took a long-bladed spear out of the Guild storage. It was made at the Overlord Rank, a good weapon, but not one that they would miss.

More importantly, it was extremely well-balanced, and ornate. Perfect for Dana to show off.

Runes for Increased Attack Speed, Life Steal on hit, and then Arcane Damage bonus. Those would be the ones that he wanted as the core. But if it was going to be properly Epic, he would need something more.

He had some time, so Karl focused on the skills that he had to work with, intending to make something new, especially for Dana. A gift to celebrate Immortality.

She was a Golem Mage by combat style, so that was what he would go with. Something that would improve her golems, or her group combat style.

He could improve the Armour for the golems. That would be pretty cool.

But then Karl realized that there was a much more visually impressive option.

If he combined [Bodyguard] with [Reality Warp] and bits of [Gargoyles], he should be able to make a spell that visually cloned Dana. No, it had to be [Epic Golem], not [Gargoyles], so that he could hopefully keep her ability to transfer the [Auto Parry] skill to it in combat.

Karl sat silently in the empty room, meditating and combining portions of the spells in his mind with runes to enhance the portions that he wanted to emphasize.

He felt the sun on his face as dawn broke, but nobody was coming in yet, so he continued until he got a preliminary, minimally functional version of what he was hoping for.

[Mirror Images] Epic Skill. Creates two Elite Golems in the image of the caster with up to 3 of the caster’s core class skills.

{System Notice} [Skill Master 5] Activation

{Skill: [Ascendant Divinity] has improved to [Ascendant Divinity 2]}

[Ascendant Divinity] The Beast Master Champion’s Soul Power increases at an improved rate, based on the progression of their Power Matrix. Fundamental Rule comprehension increases with Soul Power. Improved growth rate compared to Level 1.

Karl felt the power of his Power Matrix begin to change in a fundamental way, embracing the Immortal World, and replacing the last of the Mortal Energy that it had been channelling with Immortal.

The refinement level increased as well, improving the purity and density of the energy in the Beast Spaces.

That was perfect. Exactly what he had needed to move him along his path now that he had doubled the number of points in his Power Matrix.

A sense of power alerted Karl to a guest, and he opened his eyes to see the Elder standing in front of him again.

“What did you just do? I was watching your power fluctuations to see how your crafting was going.”

Karl finished carving the spear in his hands and moved it to his mental space.

“I advanced a System Skill. It improved my Power Matrix’s efficiency and my growth rate.”

The Elder frowned. “You have a skill that improves the efficiency of the Power Matrix?”

“Yes? I’ve had it for quite some time. It increases the growth of my Soul Power as well. It’s really a huge benefit. Especially with Dana linked to me. Our growth efforts resonate, pushing each other up. So, she gains from my growth rate, and I grow from her hard work.”

“I remember how the Soul Bond works.” The Elder replied with a smile. “But it’s the change to the Power Matrix that shocked me. That is nearly impossible for most Immortals to do. It’s akin to changing their training method entirely, not something that anyone would consider if they were actually making progress.

Or like changing your System Class. Nobody changes it, you just optimize what you have and aim for the top.”

Karl focused power on the spear, and felt the materials it was made of changing as its grade improved from Overlord through Totem, Mythic, and then to Immortal.

The haft was jet black, but the blade was that impossible silver of the Chaos Realm, with a white tassel.

“And there we go. A gift for my wife. What do you think?”

[Spear of Sisterhood] Epic Grade, Immortal Rank 1/50. Increases Attack Speed by 40 Percent of base, increases Life Steal by 10 percent of damage done, deals 300% of base damage as Arcane Damage on hit. [Mirror Images] activates on use, or at will.

The Elder whistled in appreciation as he examined the spear.

“Your Dana was really holding back in combat, wasn’t she? That [Mirror Images] spell you are buffing for her is incredibly overpowered.”

“She actually doesn’t know it yet. But she will soon. I thought that it would make a lovely gift for her advancement to Immortality. Her core Class skills are [Auto Parry], [Golem Damage] and a combat skill. It might give the clones one of her attack skills instead, but those were all from the Skill Tree, so it should give her all three of her core skills.

For me, it’s more hit-and-miss. I’ve got very strange Core Skills.”

His base class skills were [Greater Bestial Champion] to double buff effects, [Avatar] transformation, and [Ascendant Divinity], which had just improved. They were strange skills for a golem to have. Not nearly as useful as giving the spell to Dana.

Well, having a pair of giant World Dragons on his side could be funny.

The Elder nodded. “That is understandable. The spell is much better suited to a battle mage or warrior than a Beast Master or Avatar.”

The door chimed as a customer came in, and the Elder nodded to the other Peak Immortal Elder.

“Oh, so it’s our resident Overkill Expert and Master Forsham. I felt the change in someone’s Immortal Spirit, and came to see who had advanced, since it didn’t feel like an Ascendance Ceremony.

Oddly, it appears that he doesn’t have a fully formed Immortal Spirit either. Just an immense amount of potential power built up toward its formation.”

Elder Forsham nodded. “I asked him about that earlier. He hasn’t learned a technique to materialize his Immortal Spirit yet.”

The newly arrived Elder rolled his eyes. “I should have known that that woman’s friend would be trouble. Already killing people, and he hasn’t even started training yet.”

“I’m never going to live that down, am I?”

The two men shook their heads in unison. “The whole Clan is calling you the Monster Man, and it has very little to do with the fact that you bond Divine Beasts.”
