Chapter 924: A New Limit – 924
Fa Zhu was glad his training was over. Although he had learned a lot, he did not have much time to practice magic while going through it.
Now that it was over, he imagined he would have much more freedom. The next day, he reported to the prince’s room. There was nothing overly special about the job. From the first day and onwards, he simply stood by the prince’s side. Every now and then, he would speak with some of the prince’s teachers when the prince was taking a test, and he was able to skim a lot of information off of them.
Naturally, not everything was stored in books. Advanced knowledge could only be truly learned from these people.
He worked from when the prince woke up to when the prince went to sleep, and although it didn’t sound like he had a lot of free time, the prince did not always want someone around him. He would often spend hours alone. Even while standing guard outside of the prince’s door, he could still practice magic on a small scale.
His power grew every day, and he was confident in completely wiping out this kingdom within an hour.
Especially with the large lake nearby. He could use magic to flood this entire city, reducing it to rubble.
He didn’t plan to stay in this kingdom for much longer either.
He was waiting until he developed some form of learning magic before he left.
That way, he could use magic to understand the contents of books countless times faster than before.
It was a bit difficult and dangerous as it meant directly manipulating his own mind, but he was confident he could get it to work at some point.
After a few months, he got it down.
The Spell was so good that after holding a book for a single minute, all of the information was transferred directly into his mind.
So Fa Zhu disappeared.
He had never had the intention of staying with the prince for long anyway.
He used the Spell on every book in the library before leaving the capital. He had more than enough money to live a few hundred years in comfort, and enough power to get more if he ever so desired it.
The only thing humanity had that interested him any further was their knowledge.
That’s why he headed directly towards the center of the empire, where the Imperial Capital stood.
This place was ten times as big as the Royal Capital.
The library was twice the size, and a lot of forbidden knowledge was stored here as well.
After spending a month or two developing an invisibility spell, Fa Zhu began to go through all of the books in the library. Everything felt trivially easy.
He already felt above normal people, and he was slowly starting to realize the disconnect it was bringing to him.
It didn’t take him very long to go through all of the knowledge in the Empire’s library. After that, he returned to his home. The mountains hadn’t changed at all, and he hadn’t really left for a long time in the scope of things.
He walked up to the house and saw his mother in the distance.
She saw him and smiled. “Welcome back. Where’s the wife?”
“I didn’t bother bringing one.”
His mother’s smile left her face. “Then leave. Don’t come back until you have a wife.”
Fa Zhu was stunned.
He turned around and left.
And after walking for a while, he was a bit annoyed.
Both with his mother and walking.
He wanted to move faster than this. A horse and carriage was also an option, but one he didn’t bother with much.
Ever since he had realized he was completely different than others, he had sort of disdained using mortal means to travel. It was something weird that seemed to spring up within him.
He went to the nearby city, where he had stayed initially, and developed a method of travel. He had initially gone for some sort of land travel, but after thinking about it, he settled on flying, which was way cooler in every way.
Wind Magic was very useful. However, he had recently learned a new trick he called Gravity Magic. It made him much lighter.
This allowed him to fly faster and it cost less Magic to use that way.
After getting used to it, he had a lot of fun flying around.
He went around to a few different empires and went through their libraries and secret rooms, reading all of their knowledge. He knew that he would eventually reach another bottleneck at some point.
After a few years, he got bored and settled down somewhere. It was in some random forest with nobody around. He wouldn’t lie and act like he was interested in staying in a society. Especially one with nothing but mortals.
Zhou Fan hadn’t necessarily intended for this when he had removed cultivation from the world. But it wasn’t like Fa Zhu’s situation was unfamiliar.
Zhou Fan himself hadn’t been very interested in society, but he had been alone since he was born. Even when he had learned cultivation, nothing had really changed. But Fa Zhu grew up in a family until he was essentially kicked out.
His situation was slightly different overall.
Fa Zhu was living in the woods silently, practicing his Magic every day to the extreme.
Earthquakes rocked the land every day. If this place hadn’t been so far away from society, people would have treated it like a forbidden ground.
It took an entire decade for Fa Zhu to feel like he hit a wall again. At this point, his spells could cause mountains to shake, and if prolonged long enough, could topple it.
They could cut down entire forests and cause tsunamis.
But his magic would not move any faster, and the amount he could control at once had reached a limit.
He thought of the circle method again, but he would have to design an entirely different circle this time. This was something he could instinctively tell.
