Capítulo 1374: The Promised Land [Part 1]

The Beastkins showed anxiety and confusion after their leaders announced that they would all leave the Fortunate Isles.

However, they did not protest, completely trusting Euphemia, the very leader of their Island Kingdom.

Knowing the trust she held, the White Crane didn’t hide anything from her subjects and told them about the threat they might face if they stayed.

“The prophecy about the possible end of the world is at hand,” Euphemia said. “However, the end doesn’t necessarily mean the world will collapse but that we’ll simply be welcoming a new era. Our world might be on the verge of transformation, which would either destroy or give birth to a brand new world.

“In order to witness this ending, we must vacate the Fortunate Isles and seek shelter on the promised land that our First Guardian had prepared for us. I understand everyone’s attachment to the place we lived for tens of thousands of years, but the time for us to leave has come.

“I pray that all of you will cooperate in this endeavor. Please prepare, for all of us will leave in three days. May the First Guardian watch over us.”

After her speech, Euphemia bowed deeply to her people before taking her leave.

Thirteen, Stella, and Camazotz watched this from a distance without saying a word.

All three of them understood that this evacuation was due to their arrival. However, Thirteen also believed that they made the right choice to leave the Fortunate Isles, for it would allow the Beastkins to survive a calamity.

“Zion, where do you think is the promised land these Beastkins will go to?” Camazotz asked.

“I don’t know,” Thirteen replied. “That’s what we’ll find out in three days.”

“I just hope they’re not sent to the far north of the continent.” Camazotz crossed his arms over his chest. “Majin Princes, Princesses, and Kings have claimed that region as their domain. If they were sent there, they would face a very tragic fate.”

“Don’t jinx it,” Thirteen said. “And even if that happens, I’m sure things will work out.”

The Death Bat chuckled. Frankly, even if the Beastkins were to appear in the territory of a Majin King, they had nothing to fear.

A Majin King was equivalent to a High Archon, and the Beastkins of Fortunate Isles had three High Archons protecting them.

Fortuna City became a hub of activity as the Beastkins prepared to leave their home.

Wooden carts and carriages, as well as other forms of transport, were built in the span of the next three days, allowing everyone, especially the children and elderly, to have a more comfortable journey.

Euphemia had carved a magic formation in the plaza of the city, which led directly to the Temple.

The temple had another magical formation that would open a portal to their destination.

“Yogi, Poh, the two of you will act as the Vanguard and cross over first,” Euphemia ordered. “If ever you find any locals in the place where the portal takes you, do not act aggressively. Be civil and try to gather some information about the place.

“… Is it okay if we break their legs so they can’t run away?” Yogi inquired.

“Fool, why break their legs?” Poh replied. “You should also break their arms while you’re at it!”

“…”

“…”

“… Hahaha. This guy is funny,” Camazotz commented.

Euphemia sighed deeply before glancing at the teenage boy, who was just listening to the side.

“Zion, can you go with them?” Euphemia pleaded. “They might decide to start a war with the local inhabitants once they get irritated.”

“Okay,” Thirteen replied.

“Okay, change of plans,” Euphemia said to Yogi and Poh. “Both of you will listen to Zion’s orders. If you don’t, I’ll make sure that both of you will face the Clan’s punishment!”

Yogi and Poh both shuddered after hearing Euphemia’s threat. The Clan’s punishment was something that would make anyone that lived in the Fortunate Isles suffer a world of pain, regardless of their Rank and strength.

The two High Archons had experienced it once, and they never wished to experience it again. As such, this threat was very effective to them.

“V-Very well,” Yogi stuttered. “We will listen to Zion!”

Poh nodded like a hen pecking rice. “That’s right! We’ll follow his orders.”

After getting their promise, Euphemia asked their group to enter the magic circle in the plaza.

Euphemia would only go after all of her people had crossed over to the other side. Leaving anyone behind wasn’t an option, so she’d conduct a general sweep to ensure that no one would be left in the city.

When Thirteen and his group appeared at the temple, an at least ten-meter tall and wide blue portal materialized dozens of meters from them.

“Let’s go,” Thirteen said and took the lead in approaching the portal.

Stella and Camazotz walked right behind him, while Yogi and Poh followed silently.

The moment Thirteen crossed over to the portal, the corner of his lips twitched uncontrollably.

“Huh?!” Camazotz, who had also crossed over, couldn’t help but disbelievingly look at the towering creature taking a nap right beside the portal.

Stella’s eyes also widened in shock. Although the place was unfamiliar to her, the statues erected in the distance looked very familiar.

“Big Brother!” Camazotz hurriedly greeted the sleeping giant honey badger, who lazily opened its eyes.

The moment its eyes locked on Zion’s body, it didn’t hesitate to reach out to grab the teenage boy.

Cranky then placed him on his chest and went back to sleep.

“… I knew this would happen,” Thirteen said helplessly after he was once again used as a hug pillow by the Honey Badger, who had temporarily returned to its original form to hasten its recovery.

“Big Bro, hug me too!” Camazotz flew on Cranky’s chest, begging to be hugged as well.

Cranky opened its eye slightly before grabbing the Death Bat and hugged him as well, making Camazotz very happy.

“O-Oh Sh*t…” Yogi stuttered after realizing that they were in the presence of a Celestial.

He was a High Archon, so it was very easy for him and Poh to assess the power the Honey Badger was subconsciously releasing.

“D-Do they know each other?” Poh asked Stella. “We’re not in some kind of trouble, right?”

“Don’t worry,” Stella replied. “They are very close friends.”

The young lady then shifted her attention to the statues that had been erected in the distance, representing Zion and the monsters that had helped defend the Valbarra Archipelago from Arundel the Destroyer.

The pilgrims who were worshiping the statue, as well as Cranky, saw the newcomers and wondered who they were.

As time went by, the Beastkins from the Fortunate Isles started to cross over and were also shocked to see the giant Honey Badger sleeping right next to the portal.

“E-Everyone calm down,” Yogi said. “Just move over to that side quietly, and don’t disturb the Lord’s sleep.”

The Caretaker of the Monument of Heroes had approached Stella, Yogi, and Poh to ask them who they were.

Thirteen, who was being held by Cranky, explained the situation to the Caretaker, and also asked him to send a message to the various kings of the Valbarra Archipelago.

He didn’t expect that the promised land the First Guardian of the Fortunate Isles had prepared for her people was none other than the Valbarra Archipelago, where Cranky and Zion were treated as Guardian Deities.
