Capítulo 1372: The Secrets Of The Divine Key [Part 2]

Once again, Thirteen realized that Fortuna City was a force to reckon with. If any third or second rate army were to try and invade it, they would all be annihilated by the powerful guards that protected the city.

“Here we are,” Euphemia said as they entered a wide, spacious room. “The key is over there. Can you see it from here?”

The beautiful woman pointed at a pedestal, where a golden key was floating in place.

“Only the Guardian and the chosen Saintess can touch it,” Euphemia added. “Since I have recognized you as the Saintess, you may claim the key and become its new guardian.”

Stella glanced at Thirteen as if asking him what to do. He then smiled and nodded to encourage her that everything was going to be fine.

“We will stay here,” Euphemia stated. “The floor has magical formations, so unless Zion wants to die, he is free to accompany you if you like.”

“I’ll pass.” Thirteen crossed his arms over his chest. “Go and take the key, Stella.”

Stella took a deep breath before taking her first step toward the pedestal, where the key was enshrined.

With each step she took, the floor glowed faintly as magical formations came to life. But nothing happened aside from that.

When she finally reached the pedestal, Stella reached out to grab hold of the key.

Thirteen frowned, for this was the most crucial part of all. If the key rejected Stella, then getting it the normal way wouldn’t be possible for them.

If that happened, he might have to use more radical means, which he planned to keep as a last resort.

The moment Stella’s hand touched the key, she felt a soft tingle spread from her fingertips and wash over her body, making her shudder.

She then grabbed the key and held it firmly in her hand. The tingling sensation disappeared as soon as she pulled her hand away from the pedestal.

Seeing the key safely in her hands, Thirteen was finally able to sigh in relief, while Euphemia looked amused.

The Guardian watched as the young lady walked back in their direction, holding the key firmly in her hand.

But something caught Stella’s eye—something she had never seen in the past.

There was a golden thread fluttering in the breeze, and it came from the hand holding the key.

The young lady stopped to take a closer look, and noticed that the golden thread seemed to be tied to her pinky finger.

She then followed where the thread was headed, but she could only see it up to four meters away.

Curiosity filled her mind, so she followed the thread, wondering where it was connected.

She stared at the golden thread so hard, she completely forgot the existence of Zion and Euphemia.

Finally, she stopped walking.

Her eyes widened in shock when she saw that the golden thread that was tied in her pinky finger was connected to Zion’s pinky finger.

“What’s wrong?” Thirteen blinked. “Why are you looking at my hand?”

As if to humor her, he waved his right hand right in front of her face, which made Stella see it more clearly.

“You…” Stella paused and lowered her head. “Nothing.”

Thirteen didn’t know what just happened, but he decided to give her some time so she could organize her thoughts first.

At that moment, the White Crane clapped her hands three times.

“Congratulations,” Euphemia said. “The key is now in your possession. I hope you will safeguard it until the day comes when the prophecy is fulfilled.”

“Can you tell us more about that prophecy?” Thirteen asked.

“I can’t tell you even if I wanted to.” Euphemia shook her head. “There’s a special restriction placed on us so that any information regarding the key cannot be extracted even if someone used force or mind control.

“However, there is one thing that I can tell you. As you may already know, each of the keys represented the Seven Sins. These keys are divine artifacts and possessed powers exclusive to them. As for what those powers are, I’m sure the Saintess will discover it in good time.”

Euphemia had a mischievous smile on her face, as if she was looking forward to what was going to happen next.

Stella would glance at Zion’s right hand from time to time, as if trying to confirm if the string was still there.

After getting the key, Euphemia led them to where Camazotz was.

The two teenagers almost laughed out loud when they saw the Beastkin kids using a stick to push the dangling death bat, making him swing from side to side.

“Finally! You’re here, Thirteen!” Camazotz cried out in happiness the moment he saw the two teenagers arrive at the scene. “Make these kids stop playing with me before I smack them silly!”

“Hmph! You don’t scare us, you ugly bat!” a bearkin child said while holding a bamboo pole that he used to push the death bat to one side before pulling it back.

The death bat swung from side to side, cursing the silly kids and threatening to bite them the moment he was free of the chains that bound him.

However, the kids were all fearless and simply laughed at his taunts.

The Minotaurs were keeping watch, but they didn’t make any move to stop the kids from playing with their guests.

They were simply curious because this was the first time that they were seeing outsiders in Fortuna City.

Since the Minotaur Brothers were not stopping them from playing with their guests, the children continued to toy with Camazotz, who was secretly having fun while cursing the kids.

“Maybe he can stay there for one more hour?” Thirteen looked mildly amused as he stared at the kids genuinely having fun as they took turns to make the Death Bat swing like a pendulum.

“Don’t be so mean, Zion.” Stella felt sorry for the Death Bat, so she decided to convince the teenage boy to free him.

“Fine.” Thirteen shrugged. “Lady Euphemia, please free Camazotz.”

The White Crane nodded and asked the kids to play somewhere else.

Although they were very reluctant to leave, they all obeyed her orders because she was the recognized ruler of Fortuna City.

After being freed from his shackles, the first thing that Camazotz did was to stretch his body. He felt very stiff after being chained for a few days.

“Well, then. Let’s go back to the castle,” Euphemia stated. “We will now talk about the real reason why the three of you are here, and I hope that you will honestly tell me everything.”

Stella and Camazotz glanced at Thirteen, the leader of their group.

“Very well, I will tell you everything,” Thirteen replied.

“Good.” Euphemia nodded and led the way toward the castle, where they would talk about the current happenings in the world of Solterra, as well as the hidden dangers that were starting to awaken one by one.

Far from the Fortunate Isles, the Celestial Army neared Mount Olympus—the place that the Wanderers were supposed to defend in order to prevent the Celestial Army from taking the key, which would put them one step closer to their goal.
