Capítulo 721: Troubled times are coming
“So I strongly recommend that you remain vigilant and on your guard,” Darkia said with a smile, not hiding her true intentions.
“Keep dreaming, you’ll never achieve it. Neither my husband nor I will ever be yours,” unexpectedly, instead of the fear and anxiety that had previously overwhelmed her due to the unknown, Arabel felt only confidence, realizing that the Dark System had not abandoned its plans.
“It’s like you’ve read my mind,” Idan said with a smile, kissing Arabel gently on the cheek in front of the audience. His kiss confused her, but she also felt that he shared her feelings.
“Well, we’ll see about that,” Darkia replied to Arabel’s words.
Their conversation was interrupted when the waitress appeared with their orders.
“Bon appetit,” she said, and left, leaving the three of them to look at the dishes set out in front of them.
Arabel nodded that the dishes looked almost the same as on the menu, and started eating first. Idan and Darkia watched her with interest.
“Why are you looking at me like that, eat already,” Arabel said, noticing their glances.
“Okay, okay, honey,” Idan laughed and started eating.
Darkia, mimicking Arabel’s movements, took a piece and popped it into her mouth.
“Hmm… that’s…” she froze as soon as she put the first portion in her mouth. “What is it? Why is it so pleasant? Why is it different from what I’ve tried before?”
Idan and Arabel savored every bite, savoring the dishes with leisurely care. They were impressed by the skill of the talented chef.
Soon, they noticed that Darkia had already finished her portion and was now staring intently at their plates. Because of the impenetrable glasses, it was difficult to identify her emotions.
“If you want more, order more,” Arabel said, unable to hold Darkia’s gaze. And she, as if awakened from her thoughts, raised her hand, beckoning the waitress.
“Yes, what can I get you?” the waitress asked, approaching the table.
“Bring me everything listed here,” Darkia asked, showing the menu. In surprise, the waitress almost dropped her smartphone, on which she was taking notes about orders.
Idan and Arabel stopped and stared curiously at Darkia, especially at the figure of the Host she was controlling. She was a beautiful girl with graceful curves, and they both couldn’t help but wonder, “How is she going to eat all this?”
However, instead of making a comment, Arabel just smiled.
“Yes, bring her whatever she wants,” she said to the waitress.
“Are you sure?” she asked, still doubtful.
“Yes, that’s it,” Darkia confirmed, and the waitress, still unsure, accepted the order and hurried away.
Meanwhile, Arabel could barely contain her smile, looking forward to seeing how Darkia would handle such a lavish meal.
There were many dishes on the menu she had studied earlier. Arabel realized that it was too much for one person, and she was sure that she couldn’t even handle a small part of it.
“So, what did you decide about the truce during the Third Disaster?” Darkia asked, deciding to return to the subject until she received new orders.
“We understand your position, but what do you want from us?” asked Idan.
“Nothing,” Darkia said, the smile never leaving her face.
“With this agreement, I want you to do your best during the Third Disaster, without looking back or being afraid of me,” she added.
“I guarantee that I will not take any action against you and your allies.”
There was nothing wrong with Darkia’s suggestion, it only had positive aspects for Idan and Arabel.
“Thanks to this agreement, we will have one less major problem during the Third Disaster,” Arabel shared her thoughts.
“Yes, that’s right,” Idan agreed.
“What about creatures from other worlds?” asked Idan, and immediately remembered his suspicions. “It was you who called all these creatures into our world, wasn’t it?”
Upon hearing Idan’s question, Arabel turned to Darkia and looked at her expectantly. Like Idan, she was sure that it was the Dark System that brought all these creatures.
“Yes, it’s me,” Darkia confirmed. “I was the one who invited all these creatures into this world.”
“And, having said earlier that I also want to discuss the future of this world, I just wanted to discuss this,” Darkia added.
“Why?” — Arabel asked after hearing Darkia’s confirmation. “Why did you do that?”
“To get stronger,” Idan replied instead of Darkia, and Darkia’s smile widened, as if in agreement with his words.
Idan was already beginning to understand the logic of the Dark System.
“That’s right,” Darkia nodded. “Everything is done to ensure that the inhabitants and creatures of this world do not relax and become stronger. And the stronger they become…”
“The stronger you will become,” Idan finished for her with a gloomy expression on his face.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Darkia said, laughing.
“You yourself have benefited a lot from your journey to another world. And imagine that there are several more such worlds where even more opportunities await you? Isn’t that wonderful?”
“Besides, sooner or later, after our world reached the middle stage of growth, these worlds would have discovered it anyway,” Darkia continued.
“I just accelerated this process and let everyone know about their existence in advance so that you can prepare for what’s coming.”
“What are you talking about?” Idan asked.
“Don’t be so stupid, Idan, and don’t disappoint me,” Darkia replied. “After the Third Disaster, the restrictions of the world will loosen again, and the Platinum rank will be available everywhere. As you know, beings from other worlds are mostly Platinum-ranked.”
“Troubled times are coming,” Darkia said. “All the worlds are already aware of the peculiarities of our world and have been preparing for a full-scale expansion for a long time. They were stopped only by the insufficient growth of our world.”
“As soon as the world reaches the middle stage, all the worlds will start acting, and their first target will be…” Darkia deliberately fell silent, looking at Arabel.
“Us?” asked Arabel.
“Yes,” Darkia nodded. “You two, and probably me too.”
“I had an agreement with them that expired a long time ago, and recently they agreed to cooperate with me just to deal with you two,” Darkia confessed.
“Therefore, one of the reasons I decided to make a truce with you is also related to the possibility of these creatures interfering and trying to eliminate you and me during the Third Disaster, while we have not yet broken through to the Platinum rank.”
I would like to express my gratitude to those who give gifts, power stones and golden tickets. Your support allows me to stay motivated and continue working on the book.
