Chapter 587: It’s been a long time, Mom, Dad

When Idan and Arabel finally arrived, the whole family was sitting on the terrace of the house. The cat was already out of the bag.

Anna was holding a baby with red hair in her arms and talking to him tenderly with a smile. Richard, who was sitting next to him, also looked at the boy with love.

“And how long were you going to hide this from us?” Anna asked Irene and Arslan, tearing her gaze away from her grandson.

“As much as was needed,” Irene replied calmly, and Arslan just shrugged his shoulders, agreeing with her.

Anna looked at Irene carefully, but then, sighing, smiled again and turned her gaze to her grandson. She still couldn’t believe that she had become a grandmother at the age of almost 40.

“I see you’ve already met,” — Arabel said, drawing attention to herself.

Richard and Anna couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Arabel. As her parents, they knew their daughter well and remembered how beautiful she was. She inherited all the most attractive things from her mother.

But what they were seeing now was nothing like their memories. Although they immediately recognized the girl as their daughter, they couldn’t believe how much she had changed.

“It’s been a long time, Mom, Dad,” Arabel said, slightly nervous, trying to force a smile.

“Arabel…” Richard said, standing up and taking a step towards his daughter. However, Arabel stepped back as if trying to avoid him.

Noticing her reaction, Richard stopped and didn’t say a word. Anna, silently holding her grandson in her arms, did not take her eyes off Arabel. When she saw how beautiful her daughter had become, she simultaneously felt proud and feminine jealousy.

Richard and Anna’s thoughts were in turmoil due to the many shocking news that hit them at this moment. Their son, who had recently avoided communication and began to rebel against family orders, which is why they both got hurt by the family leadership, not only found a woman for himself, but also managed to have a son, successfully hiding it from them.

On top of that, they discovered their missing and troubled daughter, who had already caused them a lot of trouble with her disappearance and rumors about herself.

“Sister, — Arslan said to Arabel, — why didn’t you tell me that you had brought them here?”

“I’m sorry, brother, I wanted to warn you, honestly. But then it all slipped my mind, and I forgot,” Arabel confessed with an awkward smile.

Arslan just sighed in disappointment and then looked at Irene to see her reaction. To his surprise, Irene remained calm.

Although Irene was very worried at first, she quickly pulled herself together, remembering where they were and that she no longer had to worry about anyone finding out about her son’s existence.

“Mom, Dad,” Arabel said, not giving her parents a chance to recover from the shock.

“Let me introduce you to my boyfriend, Idan Fein,” she said with a sincere, no longer strained smile, introducing Idan.

Idan, though slightly taken aback by Arabel’s haste, didn’t say anything. He just gave them his usual smile and stepped forward.

“Mr. Richard and Mrs. Anna, nice to meet you,” he said.

Ivette and Irene were stunned at first, but then, to Arslan’s surprise, smiles appeared on their faces, as if they were watching something interesting.

“Idan? Idan Fein?” Anna asked, remembering the name she had seen web after her daughter’s disappearance. “Wasn’t that the name of the guy you disappeared with?”

Anna, of course, couldn’t help but see the video distributed web after Arabel’s disappearance. She remembered the guy who proposed to her daughter, and this image remained in her memory forever.

But now, looking at the handsome man in front of her, Anna couldn’t match him with that other image of Idan. That guy wasn’t as attractive as this young guy.

Even Anna, looking at him, got a little nervous. Something stirred inside her, and a blush appeared on her face.

Arabel noticed this, and when she saw her mother acting like a lovesick little girl, her eyes narrowed and a dangerous gleam appeared in them.

“Yes, Mrs. Anna, it’s me,” Idan confirmed with a smile, and Anna, feeling her heart beat faster, lowered her gaze, trying not to look at him.

Richard didn’t stay away either. He noticed his daughter blushing and introduced Idan with a bright smile.

“Ah… My daughter is in love…” he remarked to himself and stared intently at Idan, starting to study him.

“Tsch…” — He clicked his tongue, noticing how handsome Idan was.

“Well, are you handsome? It’s not enough to become my daughter’s boyfriend,” Richard said in his mind as his family’s upbringing awakened in him.

After that, Arabel did not hesitate to announce the following news:

“Mom, Dad, Idan and I discussed everything and made a decision. We’re going to get married soon.”

Everyone presents, including Idan, stared at her. There was silence on the terrace.

Idan was pleasantly surprised by Arabel’s determination to discuss everything now and at once.

“What? Get married?” Anna exclaimed, scaring Aran, and the boy burst into tears in her arms.

“Oh, I’m sorry, honey, don’t cry, don’t cry,” noticing her mistake, Anna began to calm her grandson, at the same time casting an accusing glance in Arabel’s direction.

Aran didn’t stop crying, no matter how hard Anna tried to calm him down. Irene was forced to pick up her son, and once in his mother’s arms, he quickly stopped crying.

Ivette was very happy to hear this news and wholeheartedly supported them. She believed that Idan and Arabel were perfect for each other and they would make a wonderful married couple.

Idan supported Arabel and, showing his determination, took her hands.

“But family won’t let you…”— Anna did not finish the sentence, frightened by her daughter’s gaze and her smile. The smile she sometimes noticed on her face when she thought of something dangerous and looked at herself in the mirror.

Arabel’s smile scared her father Richard the most. He looked anxiously from mother to daughter. Richard knew that smile and what followed it very well, and a shiver ran down his spine. Then his gaze fell on Idan, and his eyes shone as if he had found a kindred spirit.

He thought: “It would be nice to have a son-in-law with whom I would have a common topic to discuss.” And the more he thought about it, the less his initial rejection and resistance towards Idan became.
