Chapter 583: And here’s another one joining in

“So what kind of relationship does Belle have with this Octavian?” Idan asked Arslan, and not only was he interested in this, but everyone else noticed him.

“To be honest, my sister hates him and is afraid of him at the same time,” Arslan replied. Seeing that it wasn’t enough, he continued:

“When we were 14 years old, there was a conflict between my sister and Octavian. I was not with her at the time, so I do not know all the details. However, I know that my sister broke Octavian’s nose, and I heard how he swore revenge on her and threatened her.

I had never seen my sister so angry and scared at the same time before that day.”

“Ho,” — a strange smile appeared on Idan’s face when he heard this.

Knowing what Arabel had been like when they first met, and what she was like now, Idan had a rough idea of what Octavian would expect.

“Are you saying that in addition to the Beings of Light, he is also behind the actions of the Black Limit this time?” asked Irene, ignoring Idan’s strange smile.

“All the circumstantial evidence points to him,” Leo’s confident, slightly squeaky voice came from the smartphone. “To complete the picture, we need the Queen to share what she has found out.”

“And she’s not here,” Felicia shrugged.

There was silence in the room. After a short silence, Idan turned his gaze to Arslan.

“How are things with your Guild? What are you going to do next?” he asked, remembering Arslan’s words that his Guild was no longer what it used to be, and that his reputation there was not as high as that of Irene and others.

“I’m only formally the leader, in fact I no longer have any influence in my own Guild,” Arslan replied after a short silence. “The family, especially Octavian, has long attracted the majority of the Guild members to their side.”

“Is Octavian a member of your Guild?” wondered Idan, and looking around at the others, he realized that he was the only one who wasn’t aware of this.

“Yes, Octavian is one of the vice leaders of the Guild,” Arslan confirmed. “No matter how much I wanted to refuse to accept it, the family insisted on it. Of course, I knew from the very beginning what they were aiming for, but, you know, I didn’t resist myself.”

“I never wanted to create my own Guild,” Arslan admitted honestly. “Reporting, management, and everything related to it is not for me.”

“So you just let them use your popularity and name?” Idan asked.

“Yes, that’s right,” Arslan nodded.

Arslan did not say that he basically agreed to create a Guild in order to have equal status with Irene. And now that Irene had offered to merge her Guild with that of her brother and his sister, Arslan also wanted to join this Guild.

“I have neither the desire nor the intention to fight for the leadership of the Guild. I want to join your Kingdom Guild, leaving my position as the Leader of my Guild and inviting people who are trusted by me, unless, of course, you, Idan, and my sister don’t mind.”

After these words, Arslan looked at Irene, wanting to see her reaction.

To his surprise, Irene just nodded. There was no disappointment in her gaze or anything like what Arslan was afraid of.

“I also noticed that the biggest changes occurred right after you went North, leaving me to keep an eye on your Guild and, if possible, lead them,” Irene shared her observation. “I only communicated through your trusted people, and they all talked about the difficulties and conflict within the Guild caused by the Vice leaders, including Octavian.”

“If that’s what you want, I see no reason to refuse you. I’m sure your sister won’t mind either. On the contrary, she will be very happy,” Idan greeted Arslan’s desire to join their guild with sincere joy.

“And here’s another one joining in, right?” chuckled Felicia.

“It was only a matter of time, though,” she added, glancing at Irene.

“When do you plan to involve those two?” she asked, turning to Idan.

Idan smiled at her question.

“As far as I know, Belle is already working on it,” Idan did not hide it.

“If you need help, I can help,” Irene volunteered, realizing who they were talking about.

“Okay, I’ll tell Belle later. But I’m sure that even without your help, she and Esma will be able to persuade them, if they haven’t already done so,” Idan said.

“Well, that’s settled. Now let’s discuss how to deal with Roy and the others,” Irene reminded, changing the subject.

“It’s not clear yet what’s wrong with their memories, so I suggest keeping them here in this building under surveillance for now,” — Arslan suggested.

“I agree,” Irene nodded.

“Based on my experience with creatures of Darkness, I can say with confidence that they have the ability to read memories. Considering that the Beings of Light also come from the same world as the Creatures of Darkness, I have a suspicion that they also have a similar ability and can even change or inspire other memories,” Idan said, and the others thought about his words.

“That’s probably true,” Irene agreed. “But it’s also worth considering that Roy and the others were ordinary people who embarked on the path of cultivation with the help of Beings of Light. What if Beings of Light have the ability to influence those they have helped?”

“Why don’t you ask the one you brought here?” Felicia reminded Idan of Aliya.

“I just remembered about her,” Idan replied, agreeing with Felicia.

And then Idan received a notification about an unread message on the Lovers’ Plate.

{MBG: Come back to the Kingdom, Dan, there’s something to talk about}.

Idan broke into a bright smile, surprising everyone.

“Okay, let’s end the discussion here,” he said hurriedly. “Let Bera stay here and watch over Roy and the others.”

“Meow,” after enough attention and affection from Idan, Bera happily agreed to his request.

“Let’s go back to the Kingdom,” Idan suggested, turning to leave the room, and added, “Belle has just returned there.”

“So fast?” Irene and the others were surprised, but they quickly followed Idan. Along the way, Idan took Aliya with him, and everyone descended to the underground level and entered the Kingdom.
