Chapter 582: It’s been a long time since I’ve been here

Felicia and Leo didn’t need to say anything, as Idan had already shared their discovery during his story.

At the end of the discussion, Felicia remembered what she had discussed with Leo, and given Arabel’s absence, she had some suspicions.

“Leo, didn’t you check what I pointed out?” she asked.

“Yes, but I still can’t find concrete evidence of his involvement,” Leo replied.

“What are you talking about?” asked Idan.

“Wait a minute!” almost exclaimed Leo.

“Do you suspect that the Queen’s absence is related to him?” he asked.

“Yes,” Felicia nodded.

There was a slight silence in the room.

There was silence in the room for a while.

“King, does Bera know where the Queen went after she dealt with the leaders who organized the ambush?” asked Leo before voicing his suspicions.

“Bera,” — Idan said to the cat, realizing that she had heard everything.

“Meow,” Bera replied, nodding.

Then she resumed her former appearance of the Duchess of Madness, and as soon as Leo opened the map of the capital on the smartphone screen and pointed out the place where the ambush was set up, Bera pointed out the direction in which her Mistress went.

“Damn it!” exclaimed Leo. “Looks like you’re right!”

“That’s it, stop talking in riddles, tell me what you found out,” Arslan said impatiently, who was very worried and wanted to know where his older sister had gone.

“King, we already know that the Black Limit was founded by the higher families with the support of the Beings of Light,” Leo began.

“During my searches, I came across several names from these families, and among them was one that was often mentioned. However, there was no specific information about how closely he was connected to the Black Limit and the Beings of Light.”

“But now, if we put everything together, we can assume that the Queen, while dealing with the leaders of those who set up the ambush, found out the name of this man and went there to deal with him personally,” Leo continued.

“And who is the one who attracted Belle’s attention that she decided to deal with him personally?” asked Idan with interest.

“Octavian,” — Felicia said with a smile.

“Octavian?” — Idan was puzzled, as he had never heard of this name before.

“What? Octavian?” — Arslan, not believing his ears, abruptly got to his feet.

Idan frowned, noticing that Irene also recognized the name.

“Who is this Octavian?” he asked, a little annoyed.

“Octavian Primus Morgan,” — Felicia replied. “The descendant of the main branch of the Morgan family and the direct heir. He’s a Golden-ranked awakened one, and it’s rumored that he’s currently the unofficial leader of the Defenders Guild.”

***

In the night sky above the vast territory belonging to one of the most influential families of the Federation, the Morgans, a single black figure with four massive wings appeared, which seemed to disappear into the darkness of the night.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been here,” Arabel whispered, looking at the Morgan family’s possessions from a bird’s—eye view and plunging into nostalgia.

The Morgan family was huge, with one main branch and many side lines, among which she and her younger brother Arslan were born.

Her mother, Anna, came from a side branch of the family, while her father, Richard, came from another, less influential Trask family.

The marriage between Anna and Richard was not concluded out of love, but by agreement of two families, each of which pursued its own interests.

Like Arabel before meeting Idan, her mother Anna knew from childhood that she had to marry the one the family chose. However, she was rebellious and unwilling to follow these rules.

But in the end, the pressure and power of the family forced her, barely 18 years old, to agree to marry Richard.

Her father, Richard, was the exact opposite of Anna. He was a descendant of the main Trask family. To strengthen his bond with the Morgan family, he was asked to marry a girl from that family, and Richard agreed without hesitation.

When she thought about it, a faint smile appeared on her face.

“It seems that I inherited our mother’s character, and Arslan inherited our father’s,” she whispered.

But her slight smile quickly disappeared when she found nothing in her remaining memories of her parents that would confirm that Anna and Richard were good parents.

However, she also found no memories claiming that they were bad.

Arabel thought about her parents, realizing that sooner or later she would have to meet them and introduce Idan to them.

Putting aside all these nostalgic thoughts, Arabel swooped down.

Her destination was the main family estate, where she hoped she would discover the one who was plotting against her and Arslan.

Octavian Primus Morgan.

Arabel learned from Aurel’s memories that Octavian, a descendant of the main branch of the Morgan family and the main heir, sought to get rid of Arslan and at the same time had a deep fear of the Kingdom Guild.

His hatred of Arslan was due to the fact that of all the members of the Morgan family, it was Arslan who became the first Awakened, and his popularity was higher than that of him, the direct heir.

Therefore, Octavian tried his best to take away Arslan’s leadership in his Guild and even planned to kill him so that he would not interfere with his plans.

Octavian was also behind the attack on Irene’s house during the operation against the criminal organization.

Although he was not the initiator of the purge of this organization involved in the abduction of young girls, he found out that the Queens Guild was involved in this case, which acts against the Black Limit.

Using this information, he suggested attacking Irene’s house and abducting her mother, as he was aware that Arslan doted on Irene.

Octavian wanted to take advantage of it, but it didn’t go the way he wanted.

As for Arabel, Octavian felt fear of her after learning of her appearance and power. After all, she was Arslan’s older sister, and her presence could have made his life even more difficult.

That’s why, when it became known that Arabel was a member of the Kingdom’s Guild, Octavian decided to go against her by teaming up with the Beings of Light.

Besides, both Octavian and Arabel couldn’t forget about a small incident that happened when they were teenagers.

Octavian vowed to ruin her life and make her regret what she had done when he became the head of the family. He didn’t mince his words when he talked about it. The reason for his anger was that Arabel had broken his nose in response to his harassment.

Arabel remembered his words well. It used to scare her, but now it doesn’t. And now, knowing that he was behind it all, she couldn’t leave him alone.
