Chapter 570: What do you think?

“How serious is this?” asked Idan.

“So much so that we may have to step in,” Arabel replied.

“Well then, what are we waiting for?” — with these words, Idan headed for the portal that led to their Branch. Arabel followed him.

“Where is the meeting taking place?” — while wearing a Ghost Mask, Idan assumed the appearance of the Duke of Light Ignis.

“Exactly where we’re going,” Arabel replied, also putting on a Ghost Mask and becoming the Duchess of Darkness Elsa.

“So they chose our Branch as the meeting place, right?” asked Idan, approaching the portal.

“Yeah,” Arabel confirmed, and the two of them stepped into a portal that took them to the lower level of their Guild’s branch in the Federation Capital.

At the same time, an important meeting was taking place in one of the meeting rooms on the middle floors of the building.

On one side of the table sat Irene, Arslan, Yulaya and Hazel. Bera, in the form of a black cat, was lounging on one of the armchairs, her eyes closed. Felicia stood in the corner of the room, invisible to others, and watched what was happening from the void.

Two more people were also watching the meeting from the void. One of them was Leo, and the other was a little fox who was sitting on her subordinate Felicia’s shoulder.

On the opposite side of the table, there were five middle-aged men with serious expressions.

“We understand your situation,” Irene said, massaging her temples. The others also looked serious and thoughtful.

“What do you think?” asked Irene of her companions.

“Of course it’s a trap,” Arslan replied confidently, not doubting for a moment.

“I agree with Arslan, it’s really a trap,” Yulaya supported him, and Hazel, who was sitting next to him, nodded seriously, agreeing with her opinion.

BAM!

One of the men couldn’t contain his emotions and loudly slammed his hand on the table, getting up.

“We know it’s a trap, and that’s why we came to you for help,” he said, barely able to contain his anger.

He then turned to the man who was sitting in the center and was apparently their leader.

“Leader, I told you it’s a waste of time to contact them,” he protested, seeing the doubt and indecision in the eyes of Irene and the others. “They are not Heroes; they are egoists who only care about their own lives.”

“That’s enough, Steve, cool down and sit down,” the leader of the men commanded.

“But, leader…” he did not have time to finish, as, meeting the serious gaze of the person he respected the most, he fell silent and reluctantly sank into a chair.

The leader of the men turned to Irene.

“Forgive him for his impulsive behavior. I hope you understand the situation he’s in.”

“Yes, we are aware of this,” Irene nodded, showing that the man’s words did not hurt them.

After a short silence, the leader spoke again.

“Now that we’ve explained why we’re looking for the Kingdom’s Guild members, will you let us meet them?”

Irene sighed, but decided not to remain silent any longer.:

“Unfortunately, that’s not possible.”

The man frowned, as did the other four.

“What does that mean?” he asked.

“The fact is that they are not on Earth now, they are in another world,” Irene, not knowing exactly where her brother and sister-in-law went, decided to give this answer:

However, she had barely uttered these words when the black cat, which had been lying motionless all this time, suddenly raised its head and meowed, attracting Irene’s attention.

Meow!

All eyes turned to Bera.

“What? Are they back?” Irene asked, a little flustered by Bera’s sudden intervention.

Bera nodded her feline head, confirming Irene’s guess.

Irene smiled and breathed a sigh of relief.

“Wait a bit, the ones you’re looking for will join us soon,” she told the men, who looked puzzled.

And as if to confirm her words, soon the door of the room opened and two people entered.

When Idan and Arabel entered the right room, they immediately noticed the five men and applied the Identification Eye.

“Hmm, Carl, Gustav and Roy,” — Idan mentally said the names of the three men he recognized.

“Three of them led the group that attacked the convoy of the Queens Guild,” he shared with Arabel through a mental link.

Arabel stared intently at the three men indicated by Idan, and her gaze immediately attracted the attention of these men.

A shiver ran down their spines. Their instincts told them about the danger. The men felt as if they were being watched by a dangerous predator.

Because of the large black hat hiding Arabel’s face, the men couldn’t see her features, but everyone immediately recognized her as the so-called Duchess of Darkness Elsa.

Idan turned to Irene and the others and nodded at them. Irene and Arslan, who were sitting at the head of the table, stood up, giving them a seat.

Meow!

Bera meowed, attracting Arabel’s attention and distracting her from the men. Thanks to this, the men breathed a sigh of relief.

“Come here,” — Arabel called, opening her arms, and Bera immediately rushed into her arms.

“Good girl,” Arabel said, stroking her gently, and took a seat next to Idan.

“So what brings you to us, Mr. Roy?” asked Idan, turning to the leader of the men with his usual smile on his face.

The man Idan addressed as Roy narrowed his eyes.

“How did you know my name?” He asked Idan.

“A little crazy bird whispered your name to me,” Idan replied. “He said he met you and your two friends.”

As he spoke, Idan glanced at the other two men.

“Carl and Gustav, I suppose?” he asked, making them look surprised.

All the men looked at each other, and concern flashed in their eyes.

The names that Idan mentioned were their real names, which few people knew. After all, since they finished their military service, they have adopted other names to hide their past.

“Well, tell us what you’re up against and what kind of help do you want from us?” asked Idan, removing the smile from his face and looking serious.

“Ignis, the thing is…” seeing that the men were still silent, Irene decided to explain the situation herself.

“Stop,” the male leader named Roy interrupted Irene.

“I’ll explain everything myself,” he added.

Roy took a deep breath and, looking into the eyes of Idan in the form of Ignis, began to explain in detail what they were facing and what they wanted from them.
