Chapter 777: Visitors

The Monarch rose slightly from his seat—but before he could leave, a group of armored officials hurried up the stairs and bowed deeply.

“My Lord!”

“The spies have returned!”

“Oh? How did it go?” the Monarch asked in a nonchalant voice.

The leader of the officials swallowed hard.

“It is true… the Beast Tamer class has reappeared.”

The twins’ eyes widened slightly when they heard this. As for the Monarch, his expression didn’t change much. If anything, the red glow in his eyes dimmed before sharpening.

“…Follow me,” he said and turned around.

The twins glanced at each other before falling in step behind him.

The officials did not dare lift their heads, only watching their lord’s back, wondering what was currently going through his mind.

Whatever it was… they knew it was no good.

…

The Monarch led them through a gated passage at the back of the coliseum, across a long stone walkway that cut through steaming hot springs and training pits, until they reached the backside of the main castle.

A massive courtyard opened up—

and in its center stood an enormous stone statue of a woman. However, this statue wasn’t just of anyone.

This statue belonged to none other than… Terra, the Beast Taming Goddess.

Her likeness was carved so perfectly it almost seemed alive. Flowers, vines, and strange beast motifs decorated the base. Even the ocean breeze quietened when they approached.

But there was something strange about all this…

The statue was bound by thick, heavy chains—each the width of a tree trunk. The chains were fastened to the ground and locked in place by giant iron seals.

…It almost felt as if the statue was imprisoned, or perhaps they were protecting it from someone.

Imperia Island was known as one of the most secured places in existence. Even when the demons had invaded the human realm through special portals linking to the Demon Empire…

It had been extremely difficult for them to take over the island.

But even then, the demons’ victory hadn’t lasted long, as Imperia swiftly reclaimed their territory, becoming the first kingdom to break free from the demons’ hold.

The twins rarely came here, but they both understood exactly who this statue belonged to…

Beast Tamers were unknown to most of the world—but to Imperia?

They were a forbidden name.

In fact, ancient texts even suggested that Imperia had played a major role in erasing the Beast Tamer class in the first place.

No one outside the island knew.

No one outside the island needed to know.

Eventually, the Monarch stopped before the statue.

For a moment, he said nothing, simply staring at the stone figure with an emotionless expression. Then he spoke quietly:

“So… the world dares to awaken her followers again. After the stress we had to go through.”

The twins exchanged glances, both not daring to talk. Their father might appear very nonchalant on the outside and might even throw smiles and laughter easily, but he was strict, ruthless, and merciless.

A man who didn’t care if you were of his blood. If it meant getting rid of you to complete his goals, he would willingly do it.

Finally, Adre turned to face them. “You two.”

“Yes, Father!” they both echoed.

In a calm but heavy voice, he added, “You will go to the Vermilion Kingdom. Investigate the situation thoroughly.

Find out who awakened the class.

And while you’re there…”

His gaze sharpened, and a faint killing intent leaked from his body. The twins gulped, thinking they had offended him without knowing.

After a moment of silence—which felt like an eternity—he said:

“…look for your brother, Jack.”

A cold wind blew through the courtyard, swirling around their cloaks.

The Monarch placed a hand on the stone base of Terra’s statue.

“If this class has truly returned,” he said slowly, “then the world is about to repeat the same disaster from centuries ago.”

“Leave immediately,” he said, turning his back and walking away.

The twins bowed deeply and echoed in determined voices: “Yes, Father.”

Cromwell Kingdom…

Unaware that two powerful prodigies of the island kingdom Imperia had been dispatched, Nox was quietly observing the awakening that was going on uninterrupted.

The proceedings surprised him. He never expected that so many people would choose the Beast Tamer class, even though it was relatively new.

When he had asked his master Eve about this, she had said:

“You do know that… humans are inherently lazy. They don’t like working. Now imagine a scenario where they could have minions fighting for them. Of course it’s only natural they would choose the Beast Tamer class.”

When he heard this, he realized it made a lot of sense. Even the adults were ready to throw away their classes if it were possible to replace them with Beast Tamer.

To be honest, it was solely because of having minions that he had been fascinated with the class.

“But they wouldn’t be able to do all the work for you,” he murmured. “Along the way, I had to do so many things myself.”

The days passed quickly, and some time later, the Awakening came to an end.

In total, about 20,000 youngsters had awakened the Beast Tamer class, and the Luminary Forest was more than enough to provide beasts for them.

Surprisingly, every single kid who awakened this year had selected the Beast Tamer class.

Nox realized that if he were a mage or warrior, he would feel threatened as well.

After all… twenty thousand Beast Tamers rising at once?

Even the citizens of the Cromwell Kingdom didn’t know whether to laugh or panic.

And this was just the Cromwell Kingdom…

Nox had not even implemented his Beast Taming campaign to recruit more from the neighboring kingdoms.

By then, with the promises the Beast Tamer class offered, he wondered what would happen.

Regardless, he instructed Wendy, who was in charge of the Cromwell Academy, to include special classes for Beast Tamers. He didn’t make a separate academy for them, as he needed all of them to blend together and get familiar with one another.

The next morning, the Cromwell Kingdom received a surprising visit…

one that would reshape the entire human continent.
