Chapter 762: The Ninth Element Resurface Once Again

The statues swam forward with impossible speed for its size, crushing formations and ripping through ranks like living fortresses.

Kaelen didn’t flinch. His expression stayed calm, almost disappointed. “As expected of Thalasar. But this doesn’t change anything.”

He pointed his spear toward the city.

A golden light flared behind him as his army raised their hands. Spells activated in unison—hundreds of Devotees weaving magic through the currents.

The sea glowed gold.

“Break their defenses!” Kaelen ordered.

Dozens of beam-like strikes shot out at once, hammering the Leviathan statues. Each impact exploded like thunder underwater. The statues staggered, cracks spreading across their massive forms.

“Keep them up!” he shouted again.

The Devotees followed, relentless.

Nox clenched his fist and turned to Lyra and Coralia. “Drop the barrier for three seconds.”

“What?” Lyra’s eyes widened. “They’ll fire through—”

“Just three seconds,” Nox said firmly.

Coralia nodded slowly. “Do it.”

The twins withdrew their energy. The spinning vortex barrier dissolved like mist.

Instantly, Kaelen’s forces saw the gap and fired.

But before the spells could hit, Nox moved.

He vanished—reappearing right in front of the blasts. His hand glowed bright blue as lightning gathered there.

He swung his arm, and the sea itself seemed to bend. The attacks meant for the city veered off course, redirected into the ground. The shockwave erupted, throwing sand and coral everywhere.

The pressure made the surrounding water boil.

When the sand cleared, the sea was in chaos. Devotee bodies floated as the golden glow faded. The Leviathan statues remained undamaged but still standing. Kaelen frowned, lowering his spear. Nox hovered quietly, sparks flickering around his arm.

Lyra finally snapped out of her daze and gasped in disbelief. “He deflected all of them…”

Coralia gripped her trident tighter, her face pale with shock.

Kaelen’s eyes narrowed. “Interesting… the messenger wasn’t wrong. His control of the element is truly impeccable…”

From the throne balcony of coral and crystal, King Thalasar watched in silence. His usual calm expression shifted slightly, a trace of awe flickering in his deep blue eyes.

However, he didn’t comment as his focus remained on controlling the ancient colossal guardian.

“Now!” Nox didn’t have a moment of respite. He quickly gave another order.

Shade, the chroma serpent, burst from the shadows, coiling around the enemy formation. The creature grew larger as it caused carnage amidst the Sea Devotees.

Shade spun, dragging half a dozen of them into the darkness before crushing them.

At the same time, Grim shot forward, ramming through another group. Dorran yelled from his back, swinging his blade wildly as he passed through.

“Eat this!”

His sword slammed into a Devotee’s shield, shattering it instantly. Grim twisted his body, biting down on another before smashing it into the ground.

Nox followed with an attack of his own.

The lightning around him condensed into a sphere, then exploded outward.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The water turned white. Hundreds of Devotees were thrown back, their armor sparking and breaking apart.

The battle became chaos—light, sound, blood, and metal mixing together.

Meanwhile, the Leviathan statues continued to fight, each swing of their tails destroying everything nearby.

“Keep pushing!” Nox ordered. “Don’t let them regroup!”

Lyra nodded, her trident spinning faster. “Tidal Crush!” her soft voice rang through the battle.

A massive spiral of water formed and crashed into the Devotees, sweeping dozens away at once.

Coralia followed instantly, casting an ice skill. “Frost Bloom!”

Ice exploded through the water, freezing another group mid-charge.

The twins fought like dancers—smooth, elegant, and deadly.

However, the Sea Devotees were endless. Every fallen soldier was replaced by another. The ocean floor had turned into a full-scale battlefield.

Kaelen advanced slowly, his spear spinning in his hand. Wherever he passed, the water seemed to part.

Dorran gritted his teeth when he saw him. “That guy’s not normal…” he cursed aloud.

Nox felt it too. The aura around Kaelen wasn’t just power—it was something dark and familiar. He had felt this before, but couldn’t remember where.

He pondered hard, but nothing came to mind no matter how hard he tried.

“He’s using something,” Nox warned quietly. “That armor—it’s not normal. Be careful.”

Kaelen stopped at the center of the battlefield.

“Enough,” he declared. His voice was calm but carried through the entire ocean.

Every Devotee froze. Even Thalasar looked up from the palace gate, a trace of alarm flashing in his eyes.

Kaelen lifted his hand, and his armor opened slightly, revealing a shadowy glowing sphere embedded in his chestplate.

“What is that?” Coralia whispered.

The light pulsed once, and the entire sea seemed to tighten.

“I knew there was something wrong with it when I first saw it,” Nox muttered, eyes locked onto the shadowy core.

On the balcony, Thalasar—who had kept his emotions perfectly masked until now—had his eyes widen for the first time during the fight. “That can’t be—”

Kaelen smiled faintly, raising his head to the balcony, locking eyes with the king. “You recognize it, then.”

The light inside his armor began to twist, forming dark patterns that reached out like veins. The water around him grew colder.

“The Ninth’s Relic…” Thalasar murmured. “You fool! That thing is forbidden!”

“Forbidden?” Kaelen tilted his head. “Or sealed away because you feared its use?”

He spread his arms, and the ocean itself seemed to acknowledge him.

From the shadowy sphere, black inky smoke spilled out. It formed long, claw-like shapes that merged with his armor. The golden glow of the Devotees’ formation began turning dark purple.

The Leviathan statues stopped moving. Their eyes dimmed as the energy sustaining them flickered.

“Your Highness!” one of the royal mages shouted. “The barrier—it’s weakening!”

“Hold it together!” Thalasar roared, slamming his staff into the ground. A wave of blue light surged outward, reinforcing the defenses, but cracks continued to spread.

Kaelen’s laughter echoed through the water. “You can’t stop it. This treasure draws power from the Ninth Element itself.”

Right then, it felt as if a storm had been struck.

“The Ninth Element?” Nox frowned. “Did I just hear ‘Ninth Element’?”

He remembered those same words from another place—from the Scourge Realm, where he had been forced to flee due to his opponent’s overwhelming power.

‘Don’t tell me…’
