Capítulo 1413: Humans Are Trash

The emperor continued, “Why did you do all this?”

Andreas fell silent for a moment, forcing Mae to strengthen her illusion. Then, he opened his mouth. “I’m the chosen one. The likes of you won’t understand me. You won’t understand why it’s necessary to do all this.”

“Don’t understand? You are the ones who don’t understand. How could you sell your dignity as a human to the black cell?”

“Humans are nothing but ants waiting to be crushed. We are nothing but collateral damage in the war between aliens and the black cell. If we don’t pick a side, we will lose. So, I might as well choose the winning side.”

Nathan’s expression turned solemn. He knew that the black cell seemed to be winning. After all, the black cell managed to get Yog-Sothoth and Azathoth. It was close to impossible for them to defeat the two of them, let alone destroy the black cell.

However, the emperor didn’t know about the war between the black cell and the aliens. “What do you mean by collateral damage? What is the war between aliens and the black cell?”

The left guardian stopped again, but this time, Mae’s illusion couldn’t force an answer out of him. So, Mae shook her head. “He doesn’t have that information.”

“…” The emperor narrowed his eyes.

It might not be that bad to give this information to the emperor, so Nathan was the one explaining, “There is an ongoing war between the aliens and the black cell. It has existed for so long and involved so many races.

“Most of them don’t even realize that they are in the middle of a war, but those who have reached a certain level will be able to participate in that war.

“The black cell has seized control of two of the strongest aliens along with countless low-level aliens. I’m not entirely sure about their goals, but the aliens are like humans, they are races who play things with the creatures underneath them.

“Like when humans cultivate animals, turn animals into their pets, and kill them without caring, the aliens treat humans as such. At the same time, the black cell most likely plans to annihilate all existence that can threaten it, including humans and aliens.

“One of my familiars had knowledge about the war, but he didn’t participate in the war, so he didn’t know much.”

The emperor was wondering how much Nathan actually knew. His familiars were definitely at a very high level, and with all the prior conversation, the emperor judged that Nathan’s familiars were indeed divine beings. Each of his familiars might be stronger than the strongest familiar recorded in their history.

Still, the information was not easy to swallow. The war was actually on a much larger scale than he could imagine.

The emperor pondered. The aliens were indeed bad. At the same time, if they didn’t assist the aliens, the aliens might lose and they would be wiped out. The humans couldn’t resist the aliens, let alone the black cell.

However, if they cultivated the black cell in their body, they might survive, as the black cell would recognize them as someone from the same side.

The emperor believed this was Andreas’ reasoning. It was the only salvation.

That was why the emperor couldn’t help but ask, “Since you say that’s the only way for humans to survive, what will happen if we defeat the black cell?”

“…” Andreas couldn’t answer that question. “No one can defeat the black cell. It is an existence beyond all kinds of existence. It is the singularity.”

Nathan, on the other hand, gave a different answer. “If we defeat the black cell, it means the humans will possess the same power as the aliens. That’s the minimum requirement if we want to defeat the black cell. Even if the aliens are freed from the black cell’s control, we still have enough power to confront them if they decide to give us the previous treatment.”

The emperor nodded in agreement. If they indeed possessed the same power, they could resist the aliens. If they were stronger, they might even do something beyond that.

To put it simply, if they joined the black cell and won, they would be a part of the black cell, their lives might also be controlled by the black cell. Just like the aliens, they might be sent to other worlds to be used as cannon fodder.

On the other hand, if they joined the aliens and won, they would have their freedom and the strength to resist the aliens. They wouldn’t be living under anyone.

It was obvious which one looked more tempting.

The emperor knew that the aliens were better, but he couldn’t see what they should do. They had a hard time resisting the aliens, so how could they even help them to win against their strongest aliens?

The emperor wanted to ask Nathan, but it was better to finish the questions he had prepared for Andreas first.

“What is your relationship to Lithia Excel?”

“Brother and sister.”

The emperor never thought Lithia Excel would have a brother, and it was shocking that they had never found out about this.

“Have you ever killed someone when doing your mission as their spy?”

“I have.”

“Who?”

“Ganesha, Wimell, and Yanus.”

“!!!” The emperor was dumbfounded when he heard this information.

Even the two summoners who had been watching from the sides couldn’t help but open their mouths.

“Duke Ganesha?”

“Even Lord Wimell? But who is Yanus?”

“Duke Ganesha. I thought he was poisoned by his own family, but it turned out to be you. Why did you kill them?”

“I wanted Ganesha’s information to turn around the situation during the purge. Wimell was close to figuring out my identity and Yanus was the butler who witnessed Wimell’s death.”

The emperor gripped the wooden railing hard. “So, you were the culprit who gave the information of the purge and let them use that information to escape from this continent?”

The one who was shocked by that statement the most was actually Evelyn.
