Capítulo 1404: Wet

“I accept.”

“Nathan!” Johnson’s face turned pale.

The emperor smiled. “Well, I guess we can’t completely ignore Johnson right now, so how about limiting its use a bit?”

“How about this?” Nathan formed a blank contract. “I will limit the questions to 3. However, the truth clause will remain.”

“That’s good enough for me.” The emperor thought for a moment. “In that case, let me set up the questions. The first question will be about my name. I’m planning to tell you a different name.

“The second question will be… Hmm, what kind of question should we use to prove whether I talk or not?”

“How about the last time you wet your bed?” Nathan smiled wryly.

“Presumptuous. This is too rude!” Johnson couldn’t contain himself anymore.

However, the emperor snapped his fingers. “I like it. That’s not really a bad question, but we want to get a clear answer. Let’s make it this way. Did I still wet my bed when I was 10 years old? It would be a yes or no question.

“This will be a bait to ask whether they’re related to the Death Society or not.”

Johnson realized he couldn’t stop him at all. The emperor was simply too excited.

Nathan, on the other hand, agreed with his idea. “How about the third question?”

“This is just for the check. Test whether I am related to the Death Society or not. Since I’m the one suggesting it, I will let you word the question yourself so that there is no doubt left.” The emperor generously gave him the opportunity, wanting to show that he was truly clean.

Nathan nodded. “I’ll respect your choice. In that case, this will be the contract.”

Nathan had set up the contract, but the emperor tilted his head. “Sorry, I don’t think I can understand this language.”

“Ah!” Nathan forgot. The contract was written in his language, not this continent’s language. He could understand their writing, but not the other way around.

“Let me narrate it for you.” Nathan read word by word, making sure the contract was satisfactory.

Realizing this limitation, Johnson stopped them. “We have to stop this or at least let me test the contract myself first. We can’t read the content, so we don’t know whether you are telling the truth or not.”

“This…” The emperor wanted to stop him, but Johnson didn’t say anything wrong.

Nathan calmly agreed. “I don’t really mind. The contract terms will be similar, but I will change the name of the recipient. These two words are your name.”

Nathan changed the words carefully, showing that he didn’t alter the contract other than the name.

“How do I sign it?” Johnson asked.

“With your blood. A thumbprint is enough.”

Johnson nodded and bit his thumb and signed the contract.

“Alright. Let’s begin. What is your name?”

“Johnson Trisalinka.”

“Try to lie, Johnson.” The emperor ordered with a curious expression as Nathan continued, “Did you still wet your bed when you were 10 years old?”

“I did…” Johnson looked like he wanted to say something, but his mouth simply stopped as his teeth ground against each other, refusing to open. His face became red, and his veins bulged, as no matter how hard he tried to add ‘not,’ he couldn’t utter those words.

“You did?” The emperor suddenly had a mischievous smile on his face.

Johnson’s eyebrows twitched. He was so busy worrying about the emperor that he forgot to request a change of question.

This time, he was simply too embarrassed to show his face.

Still, this was enough for the emperor to see that the contract was really powerful. It looked like there was no way of lying.

Nathan first looked at the emperor to get his confirmation. The emperor gave a nod as a sign to continue.

“Are you collaborating with the Death Society?”

“I am not.”

With the three questions answered, the effect of the contract disappeared.

“Interesting.” The emperor nodded in amusement. “Now, let’s test it on me.”

After knowing its power, Johnson couldn’t stop the emperor anymore. So, Nathan gave him the contract, which the emperor signed excitedly. He also made sure that no words were changed other than the names.

“Let’s go, let’s go.” The emperor smirked like a child who had just found a new toy.

Nathan smiled wryly but still started. “What is your name?”

“Televan Nite.” The emperor answered without hesitation but was soon surprised by his own answer. “Hoh? Interesting.”

Nathan’s expression turned solemn. “Is that a nickname?”

“Not exactly. I’ve told you about how I had a body double, right? That was my name when I hid myself for so many years that I thought it was my real name at one point. You can call it my second identity. It looks like you need to change the clause slightly, like your fiancee’s name.”

“In that case, I will change it to the full name that was granted by your parents. That’s the name registered and recognized by this world. So, it’s not possible to use a nickname or something else.”

“Sounds good.” The emperor agreed.

“In that case, let’s move on to the next question. Did you still wet your bed when you were 10 years old?”

“No.” The emperor answered with a grin, his eyes moving to Johnson to tease him.

Johnson’s body was shaking, enduring the shame and embarrassment.

Nathan nodded and asked the next question. “Have you met or cooperated with any members of the Death Society?”

“Hey?!” Johnson widened his eyes. It was a different question.

However, the emperor waved his hand to stop him. This was supposed to be a free question related to the Death Society, so he appreciated Nathan for changing the question.

“Yes, I have met one person from the Death Society, Maria Skin, at her execution. No, I haven’t cooperated with any members of the Death Society.”

After hearing that answer, the emperor raised one finger. “I think you need to specify your questions or maybe increase the number of free questions related to the Death Society to ensure the credibility of the answer. Instead of 3, we need 5 questions. We can do it again if you want.”

“Don’t do it again…” Johnson hurriedly begged him to stop as if he were about to cry.
