Capítulo 1399: Nathan’s Solution

Once he was done with his location, Nathan immediately headed to other locations to continue with his cross-examination.

It looked like they were given the same information. All the clues pointed to the Kraekerin Temple.

“So, the Kraekerin Temple?” Evelyn furrowed her eyebrows.

“Should we just go there and ambush them or something? Who actually owns this temple?”

Since they traveled to Johnson’s base, Johnson joined their conversation after hearing the report.

Johnson muttered, “Kraekerin Temple is actually a ruined temple. It has been destroyed for almost forty years. So, no one actually owned this temple.”

“So, this clue leads to a dead end? Now that all the cults have perished, will the other party be even more careful?” Bella frowned.

“Most likely. With all five cults disappearing, it wouldn’t be weird to think that the location has been compromised. However, since they had hidden their identities, we couldn’t trace them back.” Johnson let out a long sigh.

“Don’t tell me. Our efforts this time are in vain?” Melissa smiled wryly. “No, right?”

Nathan stayed silent throughout the whole conversation because he was figuring out a solution.

Nathan raised two fingers. “There are two ways of finding the mole without offending the emperor. The first one is to use my special method. But it might end up revealing my special method, so I don’t really want to use it if it’s not necessary.

“The second method is to stage a play. If we draw it carefully, we might be able to figure out that person.”

Nathan usually used the second one, but he was also considering the first one this time.

His first solution was actually using his Soul Contract. His innate ability would be known sooner or later. Besides, even if it were known right now, they would soon return to Gratzel. So, it wouldn’t impact him that much.

Just like Elysion, people were to figure out his innate ability. Although they wouldn’t know the specifics, the speculation would create a general image in their heads.

It would be quite annoying, but if he could catch the culprit, it might be worth it.

Since he didn’t plan to offend the emperor, he only put honesty in the soul contract. There was only one question. He could simply ask whether they had any ties with the Death Society or not, but their identities were quite special.

One was the empress, while the other two were the trusted guardians of the emperor. So, it wasn’t going to end well if he asked it boldly.

In that case, he just had to ask for the emperor’s permission to ask them if they had any ties with or had gone to the temple recently. In this roundabout way, even the emperor should be able to agree, since asking that question wouldn’t make the dynasty lose face.

‘Ha… This is why I hate politics. It’s really hard to talk about even just one thing. Luna is right, talk in a roundabout way until you are confused about which way you have to go again…’ Nathan sighed inwardly.

“This special method…” Johnson furrowed his eyebrows. Even though he was suspicious of them, they were innocent until proven guilty. If Nathan accused them so easily, they wouldn’t like it. So, he wanted to make sure it didn’t happen by knowing his method.

Nathan looked away. “I will talk about it after we have made a decision. To be honest, I don’t really want to use it, but the second option is not guaranteed either.”

Johnson contemplated. Evelyn could see through what he planned to do. She whispered, “You shouldn’t expose that…”

Nathan replied in a low voice. “It doesn’t matter. This is another continent anyway. If we can simplify the process while guaranteeing the result, it might be worth it. Besides, it won’t be just for you alone.”

Evelyn couldn’t really deny it. Now that their relationship had progressed, it was true that Nathan did it for Bella, for Vivian, and even for Luna as well.

So, it wasn’t for her alone. He wanted to reveal his power for their sake.

“There is one problem though. If we reveal that information, how are we going to prevent them from spreading that information? I mean, keeping it so that the Death Society won’t find out about it?”

“I can put it in my clause, but the problem is what the emperor will do to them. If he is just going to imprison them, and my contract will kill them if they try to speak, the emperor will dislike me, and the entire campaign will be ruined.” Nathan sighed.

“So, that’s what you’re worried about.” Evelyn thought for a few seconds before raising one finger. “Johnson. I have an idea. If we are going with the first method, I can guarantee that the result will be genuine. It’s just this method that might need you to set up another private meeting with the emperor. Do you think it’s possible?”

“Another private meeting?” Johnson gasped. “Without the guardians?”

“Yes.”

“This…” Johnson hesitated. He knew how hard it was to set up the private meeting because the two guardians usually protected him. “…I’m not entirely sure, to be honest.”

Luna sneaked behind Nathan and tugged his shirt. “What are you talking about? Do you have a unique method that I don’t know about? Is it the same method that you used to create the space storage?”

“Something like that.” Nathan nodded. “It can even be used to put your brother back on the correct path as a last resort. I don’t really want to use it unless it’s a last resort for various reasons.”

Luna suddenly thought of something. “In that case, how about using the magic weapon to set up the meeting? Unlike space storage, the magic weapon is something that can be made by everyone. With the increasing number of aliens and even the appearance of the alpha class alien, don’t you think we need to make this continent stronger as well?

“You told me that if this continent falls, the aliens will concentrate their power on your continent. So, isn’t this like killing two birds with one stone? Of course, we will have to set up a simple agreement since we have to get you some benefits.”
