Capítulo 1395: Attack
“We are in position. We are ready at any time. Still, this might cause some casualties among the civilians.” Vivian muttered in the communication ring.
She was paired with Bella, so she couldn’t help but turn to Bella, wondering if there was anything she could do.
Bella shook her head. “At most, you will have to do it, Vivian. Block the people. I can try to bring the remaining outside, but it’s impossible to save any civilians within that base.”
The base she was talking about was multiple buildings that were connected in one way or another in the center of the slum. Its scope was too wide, so it wouldn’t be weird for civilians to be inside.
“I guess that’s all we can do.” Bella sighed. “The emperor has also given us the green light. Johnson’s people will assist us if necessary. For the time being, four of them have been stationed on the perimeter, ready to assist us if necessary.
“It does look like they want to assess our strength to make sure whether we have the strength to face the Death Society or not.”
Vivian thought for a moment and said, “Can you ask one of them to sneak into their base to bring as many innocent civilians as possible outside?”
“I will try.” Bella nodded and disappeared.
…
In another city, Revon and Neyeid looked at each other.
“Do you want to evacuate the civilians as well?” Revon asked.
“If you can, maybe? But it doesn’t seem to be possible. Both of us specialize in offense. The most we can do is to kill them as quickly as possible and crush everything they try to do, which will minimize further casualties.” Neyeid shook his head helplessly. “Well, it might not be enough, but I will use some funds to help the people in this city.
“I will ask Johnson or any authorities to help me handle that part. That’s the best I can do.”
Revon nodded. “At least if you see any children, please rescue them.”
“Got it.” Neyeid accepted it immediately, respecting his decision.
…
At the same time, Evelyn and Christopher were the pair to take down the cult in this city. Evelyn had only a simple order. “You take care of the evacuation. I will take on everyone in that cult.”
Christopher could only sigh. “I know. Don’t worry, Captain. This has been my role ever since I joined the group. I’m good at it. Besides, saving as many people as possible is our priority. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we can teleport them outside the city, right?”
“Unfortunately no. If it’s a defensive battle, I could have prepared a teleportation circle beforehand, but creating one from scratch without anyone noticing is impossible.”
Christopher nodded in understanding. “I’ll do my best.”
…
The fourth pair was Luna and Sonia. Both of them were just staring at each other for a few minutes without saying anything.
Luna didn’t really speak a lot unless it was to a person she was close to. So, there wasn’t much she could say.
Luna looked up, thinking about some words. “You assassinate. I will erect a barrier, and my golems will take care of the rest.”
Sonia was also a quiet type, so she just nodded her head, making the atmosphere between them quite awkward. But they didn’t care much about the atmosphere as long as they accomplished the task.
It might be awkward, but with Luna’s strength, they would probably be the first ones to finish the battle.
…
Last but not least, Nathan and Melissa pair. It was a quite unique pair.
Melissa was the first one to whisper in a seductive tone. “Hey boy, how about I cheer you up before we begin?”
Nathan smiled wryly. “You don’t have to do that. Well, my plan is simple. I attack, you support. Can you do it?”
“Of course. By the way, I have planted a lot of traps around their base. Have you fought with Flora?” Melissa asked.
“No worries. I know what they’re capable of. I believe you are more proficient than Flora, so I know how to fight with you.”
“That makes it simple. The trap will be there, and my power will focus on strengthening yours. Are you going to fuse with your familiar?”
“No. There is no need to do so this time, and hopefully I won’t really need it.” Nathan sighed, hoping that the situation wouldn’t reach such a bad point. If push comes to shove, he will ask for help.
Besides, with Melissa acting as a support, she would stay behind most of the time, allowing her to call for help if needed.
That was why he picked her instead. He wanted to pair her with Vivian, but he didn’t want them to get into an argument without Bella stopping them.
Nathan said, “From the information we have, this cult is a follower of the Bloody Fiend. They love to kill people in a way where blood will come out the most. If we enter that beast, we will probably see pools of blood.”
Melissa nodded. “Not my type. Let’s kill them already.”
Nathan agreed. “I only have one order for this operation. The people inside are evil. Even if they are not, they must have killed several people in such a cruel way. After all, they will probably be pressured by the cults to act that way. We will save a survivor if there’s any, but focus on destroying them.
“My familiar has gone around the town. According to the people in the town, the existence of this cult is basically a symbol of fear. It would have been better if they hadn’t existed.”
“So, the leaders will be given to you, right? If we can capture them, it’s good. If not, it’s fine as well. We will interrogate them to find the mole.”
“Yes, Johnson’s people will give us that time and prevent any civilians from coming. But I still want you to keep an eye on the movement of the civilians.”
“Got it.” Melissa smiled. “Shall we begin?”
Nathan activated the communication ring. “Everyone ready?”
“On you.” Evelyn replied, and the rest of the team stayed silent, showing their agreement.
“Let’s wipe these bastards out then.” Nathan nodded.
